About Pyramid Healthcare Hammonton Detox and Residential Treatment Center

Pyramid Healthcare Hammonton is an addiction treatment center in Galloway, New Jersey, that is designed to support adults who are seeking detox and residential treatment services for drug and alcohol addictions. The drug rehab facility accepts Medicaid, commercial insurance or state and county funding for payments.

Pyramid Healthcare offers medical detox, medication assisted treatment, residential treatment and speciality treatment. Some of the most notable residential treatment programs available at the clinic involve counseling service, holistic therapies, recreational outdoor activities, anger management courses, life skills workshops, motivational interviewing, individual or group counseling and case management services.

Holistic treatment programs at the facility include courses that focus on hiking, meditation, yoga and nutrition management. Personal financial management training is also available, and there are programs designed specifically for patients with an extensive criminal history.

One important thing I noticed about this facility is their response to negative online feedback. Rather than denying criticism, the facility responds in a way that’s both empathetic and understanding. It appears that the staff is interested in constantly improving, upgrading their processes, and changing any policies that cause more harm than good.

I went to pyramid detox in NJ towards the end of the pandemic. This was by far not my first detox/residential experience. I do ever not write reviews. However, roughly 4 years later I feel obligated to because I had such a terrible experience here. My main reason for writing this is due to the medical staff s neglectful behavior. I have been homeless, to numerous treatment centers (most exceptional), numerous jails around the country and the state prison. However, I truly thought I might die due to the lack of medical care here. They do not tell you when it is time to take medication, don t care if you miss it, nor do they come to check on you if they haven t seen you in a while or have not gotten meds your due for. When you are going through withdrawal from opiates and benzodiazepines it makes it damn near impossible to stand. I remember crawling to the hallway to ask a nurse when medication was and she replied with you must feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders .yeah right And then just went about her business disregarding my question for her. I lost so many bodily fluids and was unable to eat a thing until my last day there and not one staff member batted an eye. I would literally lay down in the hallway so I could catch med pass and when I did it took them an hour and a half to see just 3 or 4 other patients. My therapist was horrible as well. His name was Bill and was extremely belittling, condescending and even made insulting presumptions about my girlfriend and our relationship at home. If this place wasn t mostly a state ran facility there is no way they would be getting away with such blasphemy. The staff was not only everything but caring but just overall neglectful and disrespectful to say the least. I write this for the person who is thinking about going here who s body may not make it due to the neglectful care of clients. Go ANYWHERE ELSE in the state (I have been to most of them) and you will receive the medical care you need to make it through detox safely, not here.

I don't care what the general rules are....at the very least....you should be able to keep your phone and charger in this day and age. I have super close connections I can only reach online....including my male fiancé of ten years oversea in a war zone where he could die at any time. I refuse to give up my phone for even one day let alone a week or more. That besides....I was not informed of this by my social worker. I was told the wrong location....and ended up nearly 30 miles from home. They transported me there (she was excellent and caring at least)....but they refused to bring me back when I changed my mind at the last minute given the conditions of treatment....so I had to pay nearly 50 dollars for a Lyft because I was too far away for any of my reliable, but disabled family to come get me and bring me home. I felt so afraid the entire day and now I know why. Then I looked over their policy that if I left early....they'd still hold my belongings for a day or two and I'd have to come back on my own to get them (my car is broken btw....and I'm disabled myself). Screw the detox treatment. I'd rather risk the seizure possibility. No place for treatment should ever make you feel like a prisoner. Best I can say is the staff were nice....and upfront. Would just have been a bit better had I have all the information ahead of time. But I emphasize.....we are in a digital age. Many people cannot live without their phones. Feel free to screen communications, but don't take that link away from us....EVER. I prefer the hospital over ever considering a detox center ever again.

After several attempts at rehab my ex husband finally connected with a Davide, a counselor who truly made a difference in helping him complete his long term program and he has now successfully transitioned to sober living and has shifted his mindset and has remained focused on recovery. A huge shout out to Davide for truly caring about the most difficult addict and being a true rehab counselor vs a textbook counselor actively listening to get a better understanding on the root cause of why the addict is in a constant battle with the demons of addiction and leading the addict out of the dark path and towards a brighter road to recovery. Davide deserves a big shout out and recognition for all that he does as counselor at Pyramid.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive a full continuum of care while continuing to live at home. They're often ideal for clients who are stepping down from inpatient care but some clients may prefer to transition into outpatient treatment immediately after completing detox. Many outpatient facilities also offer ambulatory medical detox for low-risk clients. Outpatient treatment generally includes psychotherapy and life skills training. Clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs engage in a rigorous process of personal growth as a cornerstone of long-term recovery. They are expected to attend anonymous, peer-led 12 step meetings, which are free, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation is not required. Self-selected peer sponsors mentor participants as they work through the 12 steps, learning forgiveness, understanding, acceptance, and accountability.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in New Jersey provides a setting where you can withdraw from alcohol or drugs under close monitoring of experienced medical staff. These trained professionals can intervene at any time if needed. They can prescribe medications to reduce cravings and physical discomfort. Mental health professionals are also available to address any emotional and psychological challenges you experience as you begin your recovery journey.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Do not go here if you are planning on leaving before the detox is up cause they don t give you your phone. You must return the next day or 48 hours later to get your phone. I returned home & I was in a DV situation where I had to hide my child under a bed & use myself as bait cause I had no way of calling 911. I had to knock on 6 of my neighbors doors before someone finally answered & called 911 for me. They are so worried about people leaving with their phones so they can t go get drugs but they don t think about the fact that some people are returning to an unsafe environment. I was being chased around by my significant other & I was so afraid for my life. He then started destroying all my furniture & my child was absolutely scared out of her mind. This place should be ashamed of themselves for being more concerned with people copping drugs rather than them having access to 911 if it s needed. & I wasn t even able to go get my phone for 5 days due to the 4th of July weekend. So do yourself a favor if you find yourself in this place sign a 48 hour every 2 days so if you do decide to leave they have to give you your phone. It s a super scary situation to have no phone & a child at home. Even if this hadn t of happened what if my child needed medical attention immediately then I was with no phone. Again beware of this program cause they steal your phone & wont give it back thinking it will stop you from running out of the program but let s be real nothing will stop you from running if your gonna run so why leave you out there without any means of being able to call anyone for help if you need it.

HORRIBLE. My best friend came out of here the staff doesn t care and they give you medication they shouldn t be giving you which makes them feel even worse. She s A very intelligent woman who s in med school and only needed a little help getting off her prescription anxiety medication, she was transferred here from another place which she said she actually enjoyed being at but when she came here everything turned around for her. One of her friends has epilepsy and ended up having a seizure because they weren t giving him his epileptic medication and he ended up in the hospital. My friend is traumatized from this place just for trying to get a little help. Please if you see this DO NOT COME HERE.Here are screen shot of what she s explained to me so far. I m having as many people report this place because they need to be investigated. And to the owner. Do not comment on this telling me to email you, you re going to have a lawsuit on your hands if you don t have any already. Pathetic.
