I m not one to make reviews like this but I ve never met such an unprofessional place. I was told out of nowhere I owe money for a medication I was prescribed from them and that I couldn t get a refill on the medication due to it nor could I reschedule my appointment due to the balance and when I tried to figure out why and to at least get an emergency refill to hold me over for the time they told me i would have to contact billing and that I d have to wait for a response from the dr or nurse. Okay fine, so I waited and was told they would contact me . Never got a response so I called them and they literally told me like three times it was ready at the pharmacy with me having to call just for me to go and the pharmacy tell me they don t have anything. Three times I ve done this and it feels like they are just playing games with me at this point. Because why tell me it s ready at the pharmacy every time I call just for it to not be? I ve been having terrible side effects due to not even having the emergency refill to take me off gradually and had days where I couldn t stop shaking so bad I felt it may have been seizures. When I try to tell them this they treat it with no empathy nor concern and tell me I can have an emergency refill and that s it s ready, just to play games with me and the pharmacy say they never got a prescription from the dr three times now. Almost like they are telling me what I want to hear just so I ll leave them alone at this point. If I would have known seeking help for ourselves would be like this, in being treated like a nuisance and with such a lack of empathy I would have never even sought help for myself to get better. Wouldn t recommend this place to anyone

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services help family members prepare for a drug intervention in Ohio. During an intervention, family members typically read letters they have prepared that explain how the individual's substance abuse has affected their lives and relationships. Each family member also explains what they will do if the individual does not agree to get treatment. An intervention specialist offers support to guide this discussion and makes appropriate treatment recommendations.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During initial recovery, withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines can involve high health risk. Attempting detox outside of 24-hour clinical care in Ohio is not recommended. This can be life-threatening because medical staff are not available to treat severe symptoms of withdrawal that often occur. Such symptoms can include seizures, delirium tremens, and extreme dehydration. In a clinical setting, staff are on-site to immediately care for your physical, emotional, and mental health needs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills provide stability. They increase the strengths that you bring to recovery by equipping you with the tools you need to navigate daily life. During rehab, you'll develop these strengths through life skills training that focuses on both cognitive and behavioral abilities.

I have been going to this place since January 2021. My first counselor Tom was lovely. I enjoyed him. His treatment plans were good and I felt like we were going somewhere as far as getting me better. Then they switched my counselor who I also love as well he s perfectly fine. Treatment plan is good, but my main issue is with Brenda Ritz. She does not listen. She doesn t take into consideration the effects of what medication is my have on her patients in additio Attitude when you ask about side effects or any other effects that the medication might have, she blamed me for complaining about the medication and stated that she would not help me with my bipolar disorder in her own words. She told me there s nothing she can do. There s nothing she could tell me just keep seeing my counselor, Michael. I find it absolutely egregious that a certified board nurse practitioner has no regard for the safety or welfare of her patients. I find it egregious that she finds it so quick to prescribe medication and not disclose any information about it does not tell you the right side effects, and in my opinion does not really care about the patients. I believe that she needs to be reported to the board and have her license yanked and I think they need to launch an investigation against her and all her clientele files to make sure that no one else is suffering like I am Psycare really needs to update work with her nurse practitioners in the safety of their clientele or their patients.

My counselor Terri and nurse practitioner Brenda have been very kind, helpful and professional to me since I've been going there. The receptionists have been great too. Everyone there has been a joy to see and talk to. Would definitely recommend.

I had to go elsewhere to get the help that I need. I am at Meridian now, and finally got the help that I needed. The complaints that I have are the caseworker didn't do what they needed to do to get me food from a pantry (she kept telling me to call this one place to make an appointment and I always had to leave a message and they never called me back), she failed to get my payeeship transferred over, I was in the process of moving and needed financial assistance (she had me look up who I needed to contact, and MYCAP is the only one who does this and they refused to help), and she kept blaming everyone for her mistakes, basically she had me do all of the leg work, plus the nurse practitioner (psychiatrist) tends to treat people like they are children and she didn't sign a medical document for school to avoid needing to pay YSU almost $1,500, telling me I can't go back to school for 3 years (which I found was false) and they can't touch me as long as I am on disability, as a result I was turned over to both the Attourney General and collections and taken a huge hit on my credit, I dropped out due to a couple of suicide attempts. Now my needs have been met. I am finally free from Valley Counseling's bad payeeship program, and the caseworker at Meridian takes me to a food pantry when needed, and my form has been filled out and now I don't have to pay a cent to YSU.

Staff and Nurse Practitioner are the rudest people I have encountered in a very long time!!! The very first time I spoke to Brenda (Nurse Practitioner) she told me to seak help elsewhere because I was not comfortable with the medications she put me on! She was rude, confrontational, unprofessional, judgemental, and down right nasty to me as a patient!! She definitively should NOT be in the mental health field. If I could give them a lower rating than a 1 I would! Do not go to this facility unless you are prepared to be treated inhumane!!
