I am leaving this review because of my experience this past Saturday. Providence doesn't offer valet over the weekend and bars access to valet parking spots even though parking near the main entrance are very limited.I am person living with a disability that impacts my mobility. In order to see my relative, I had to walk across the parking lot from the Emergency side. I witnessed others in the parking lot patiently waiting for a better spot. I also passed another person for whom this was not just a small inconvenience. This is unfortunate but I believe it is a good opportunity for growth. I would highly recommend changing your current valet policy or at the very least making those parking spots available.I am eager to talk to someone about this as I don't want more people to have to choose between their safety and being able to visit a sick loved one.Thank you

Providence needs a better plan for people with disabilities to park on the weekend since valet is closed. My loved one who has MS has to park far away to visit our sick relative. No one could answer any questions as to why valet wasn't available. Additionally, the receptionist was very rude when I called to speak with a director about the matter. People with disabilities should not be shamed for asking questions, and this isn't a good representation of what customer service should look like for a healthcare provider.

Husband post op had to stay over on 7th floor 12-20-24 at 9pm due to low oxygen. Bewyawnka, the nurse, was rude and unprofessional. When I asked if he should have his oxygen monitored as i was leaving and shes sitting in the hall, she gave me a dirty look and said "i will call respiratory".She acts like we were an inconvenience for her. Didn't want to tell us how often pain meds are ordered for his rotator cuff repair. Like we are drug seekers. Henry Ford is tarnishing their name merging with this hospital. All I can say is WOW. do better. His nurse was switched out to another one and i guess it was get back time becaue he suffered all night.Husband was in severe pain through night. new nurse didnt care to manage pain or make a call to doctor to remedy the situation. Just attitude! This is why I wanted to stay with him but policy did not allow it. It was hard to leave a loved one knowing this was the situation. NEVER AGAIN ! I overlooked a prior patients personal info and garbage left in the room(hippa). I work in a hospital this can happen I get it. But the rest was icing on the cake.A positive note, PACU nurse and pre-OP was great.Morning nurse Wendy is awesome.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Today I saw security guard named Cindy abuse her power of being a here at Southfield medical building as security. Not only was she being rude she decided To say move your damn car, even though there was no aggression at all no cursing being done before Cindy said, move your damn car. The car was moved. She didn t proceeded to go and see where the car was parked, even though there was someone in there and others were pulling up picking people up waiting in their car. She did not tell the other car to move. There was a blue Ford fusion sitting outside the medical building Before the green car pulled up. Is wild that there was no respect given during that situation

I just had the worst experience as a parent that's looking for his daughter that's in pain there. I was sent to multiple areas of the building, only to be told that they couldn't find my daughter. They sent me to the 4th floor only to be told that she was over on the 1st floor in the ER. The nurse in charge (Karen) was very mean and un-understanding of the situation. While the other staff & security apologized and were sympathetic to my situation. Karen decided to blame me. And told me that they had a number of people there tonight with my daughter's same name (no they didn't). Only to take us to a waiting room. And minutes later had me escorted out by 3 Officers. I watched as Karen's coworkers looked at her with shame & unbelief. I ask her for a phone number to file a complaint and she wouldn't give me one. One of the Officers said he would. Only to give me the wrong number. What an uncaring place. This whole time my youngest daughter was with me watching in unbelief and fear that her father could end up hurt and we still couldn't find my daughter.

The doctors are very bias on who they feel is in pain. I feel down stairs and they pump me with muscle relaxers. Nothing for pain. Oh but the clear women in the next room was instantly giving pain meds and overly saturated with docs and nurse

On Sept.4, 2024, I sustained a fall and injured my right knee. I reside in Southfield and luckily, a Southfield police officer was nearby to offer assistance. The officer called an EMS unit and I was taken to Ascension Providence. The attending ER Nurse was so very kind and helpful as were the attending physician and her trainees. Since I arrived via ambulance, the ER nurse and staff arranged for an Uber to transport me home. The entire experience was very positive.

I cannot say a thing negative about my stay, I had a cervical fusion on 10-14-2024 and stayed on the surgical recovery floor. I was so very thankful for my nursing staff, over night my nurses were Jay & Tay. Those 2 ladies were AMAZING to say the least. I could not be more thankful, I was able to be up and walking less than 12 hours after surgery. I am super appreciative for the whole staff, from check in to check out, absolutely amazing.

The receptionist here was just rude and lazy. My hubby came here for an MRI and they told him he needed his orders or he wouldn t be seen. She insinuated that he LEAVE AND GO HOME AND GET IT. HOW WAS HE ABLE TO PRE REGISTER IF HE WASNT IN THE SYSTEM. TELLING FOLKS TO LEAVE BEFORE YOU HAVE ATTEMPTED TO FIND HIS ORDER IS JUST ABSURD! So while he was at the counter, I called our Dr s office and they said it was in the file. She had me stay on the phone while she faxed it. Miraculously, the receptionist found the order all of a sudden. THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER comparable to DETROIT RECEIVING! DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO because the care quality is subpar and the folks are just plain LAZY!
