I have never seen a hospital where the doctor runs test for what he thinks it is and then when the test comes back not to be what he thinks it is. He looks at you and says I don't know what's wrong with you and sends you home in the same pain you were in. Never thinks it could be anything else. We need a new hospital with doctors and nurses who care about patients.

Lakeland Regional staff ( all staff: Dr Medina, Dr Daniel s, Dr Medina s partner; Nurses and caregivers; housekeeping; ; Dietary staff; Staff in hallways), All provided professional, compassionate CARE. Very important for patients and their loved ones during stressful surgery. Thank you all. Only cliches we experienced was on discharge related to discharge medication and getting them smoothly. I m sure this can be reviewed and resolved easily, since this appears to be a common issue. Overall, BEST place to receive risky aortic arch aneurysm repair.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This hospital is very much a business about making money and Healthcare is not the 1st priority. The waiting area for care is small compared to the mall/shopping area set aside for commerce. The song playing right now is Beat It by Michael Jackson. This hospital is the epitome of what is wrong with the health care industry in the United States. The patient is the last priority. The building itself is named for one of the owners of Publix grocery stores, which I guess isn't bad of itself, but it in fact showcases the divide between rich and poor even more in a place like a hospital/restaurant/shoe store. This is not to say the staff at this business aren't great or don't care about their patients, it's just obnoxious antld almost tragic that I'm here with my mom for a cardiac procedure to see what will be required surgically to prolong her life and right now the nurse has to shout the patients name over Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. Seriously bad taste, especially with how the public feels about the abusive and obscene health care industry right now in America.

I have sickle cell disease and was experiencing severe pain at 3 AM on Friday morning. The prescription I received did not help, so I decided to wait until Saturday morning to seek further help. Now it's Sunday, and I have been at the hospital for one day. The doctor finally came to my room today, after not seeing me all day, and said he would prescribe more medication and discharge me. I'm currently in the midst of a sickle cell crisis and this is now day two. This was the first time I met the doctor, and he immediately wanted to prescribe me more medication and send me home, despite the fact that I am still in pain. I know what the nurses and doctors say about me but this is real pain. Ima need y'all to be more understanding about something you can tell me about yet you've never experienced it y'all don't understand how bad the pain is and I let him know as soon as he walked in the room.

My family is going through a rough time right now. My mother has some serious health issues going on and she was admitted into the hospital through the ER last night. Today she had a surgery. After the surgery there were some issues that were tended to quickly. Due to the issue she ended up on the 8th floor in the ICU. I'm writing this review because the staff that is currently taking care of her are second to none. They were all great. Kerry, the head nurse, was so attentive and on point. She not only took care of things quickly but also was able to keep our family informed of everything she did. The nurse assigned to my mother Jacqueline was working from the moment I got into the room and was still working when I left a couple hours later. She was kind and had a very calm demeanor which was a relief in the situation. I could not ask for any better nurses to be watching over my mom while I get some sleep. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart!Karry and Jacqueline are both angels in my book!

While my mother was in the critical unit a nurse by the name of Nicho E. took the best care of her and was very empathetic and considerate with the family. He just provided excellent care. Wanted to give him a Daisy award but did not catch his last name. I hope the other nurses are just as great as he was.

My daughter was very sick at college on Sunday. She took herself to urgent care, but was transported from urgent care to Lakeland Regional.I drove from an hour and a half away, and arrived in the ER to several staff caring for my daughter. The staff had already decided that she needed to be admitted and a room was already being prepared by the time I got there. My daughter was hospitalized for 2 days and the care she received was top-notch. She was on the 6th floor. I wish I could remember all the names of staff that took care of her, but every single one of them were kind, caring and understanding. Our requests for anything were met with prompt responses, and anything we needed from ice and even a bed for me to stay with her were immediately taken care of the entire stay. Thank you, Lakeland Regional. My daughter on the mend: back at college and finishing finals.
