outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medical detox is the process of removing addictive substances from your body in a medically supervised setting. With the aim of keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible, a team of licensed medical professionals monitors your vitals and may provide medications if needed to alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. Medically assisted detox is generally partially covered by most private insurance and insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Part of recovery is replacing unhealthy habits with healthy life skills. These include psychological skills and social skills that allow you to thrive post treatment. While in rehab in Idaho, you'll work on developing these skills so you have the tools you need for a new life.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is typically included in a holistic approach to drug and alcohol addiction treatment. It integrates activities like hiking, team sports, and art to improve physical fitness, provide an emotional outlet, and improve your social connections with others. These are skills you need to rebuild your life and maintain your sobriety.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

I don t typically write negative reviews, however mental health in our community is a severe need and serious concern. This office has seriously missed the mark. This office is not as great as initially appears. My counselor JS rarely held the session on time or for the full hour. I discussed this on several occasions with her (as well as the front desk) and was dismissed almost immediately on all instances; excluding one interaction where she told me to just arrive late! She gave false information regarding accelerated resolution therapy claiming it had risk to pregnancy. We had discussed and planned to do an ART session. When the date arrived to do the ART, she informed me it could be harmful during pregnancy and cause miscarriage. This is simply not true based on further research and information from another ART professional. It seemed more likely that she spaced her commitment and put it off all together. While I am currently experiencing minor crisis in my life right now; this seems egregious. She also has not completed intake questionnaire, and I had seen her for approximately 1 month. My counselor took time off and recommended I see someone else for the missed appointment. I tried to contact the office for rescheduling and they did not answer even though it was within business hours. I called several times and had no correspondence in return. This is not an office that serves our community well. They may be nice and polite people when it comes to the intake process, which is cool. However, they bill my insurance for a full hour of care that I am not receiving. They are also very much lackadaisical in their approach to patient care.I do not recommend this office unless you just need some help while you wait for a legitimate therapist to become available.

A joke of a business. They can t do their job right and bill insurance correctly or send out bills in a timely manner and then they will threaten to take you to court for a couple hundred dollars which you should have had all or part covered by insurance. What a disappointment and disservice to the community. Don t go here! Find other options. Anywhere but this hole in ground.

If you need them to come to court on your case they'll demand a $1500 witness fee. They will not have your back without getting paid.

I've been visiting since August 2023 and I am really grateful for all the help I've been receiving. My counselor has been helping me navigate various things in my life and I genuinely see an improvement for myself.

My kids doctor sent them a referral, I called them 3 times in a month and no one returned my calls. On the 4th try, someone actually looked at the referral and let me know it was a service they do not provide.

I had never been to counseling or therapy before going to PCFS (Preferred Child & Family Services), so I wanted my first experiences to be good. I saw online there were one stars reviews on this care center and was hesitant choosing them as my counseling provider, but I took the risk, and I will say I'm very glad I made the decision to. My counselor, Iain Laird, extended me utmost compassion and understanding as he helped me intelligently navigate my difficult life circumstances with zero judgement. We talked about whatever it was I wanted to talk about, which is what I loved most. Despite how difficult it felt to have certain conversations, Iain always made me feel comfortable having them. I always felt like I was being heard. I wholeheartedly believe that Iain genuinely loves helping people, that he seeks to help his clients to the best of his ability. I felt that he wanted me to be happy and healthy, as anyone should be, and aided me in that process. I can confidently say it was an absolute positive to have done my counseling through PCFS with Iain.
