First off I really had good vibes about the place. I brought a very good friend here on July 24 th , she genuinely needed a good place that would of treated her better than what this place offered her. Drug addiction is a disease. These ppl who work here has no respect for any human facing addiction. I drove 3 hours away to take my friend to rehab because she was ready to change that lifestyle for good. I get her there at 7:30 in the morning to McIntosh to find out she'll need to detox, that's all fine we figured that. So we drive to pine woods and she has to fill out all this paper work and the lady behind the desk is so rude and hateful " are you done with your paper work yet " she says to my friend. After all the paper work was done she takes the drug screen. Remind you she's here on her on free will because she's ready to change. She'll finish detox in a week then go straight to rehab for how ever long. Pine wood takes her and then starts treating her like a prisoner and down right hateful. Saying she can only have so many items of clothing. Blah blah blah. We understand she can't have a cellphone. We drove 3 hours away she gets done here she'll go straight to rehab which was only 15 minutes away. She only had 2 bags of things, they made her cry. The way the man who works there talked to her before I had to go was just so hateful. I left and just before I started my truck up this lady walks out and said she needed my number. I wrote the number on a piece of paper and left. I get home to find out my friend left the detox center at pine wood. Now what the problem was is if the staff would have been trained the proper way on how to talk to ppl with addiction then possibly this place wouldn't have such bad reviews. You took something from this woman that she needed and was ready to change. She'll never trust another place like this ever. Learn how to talk to ppl and if you can't then step down so someone with a better mentality can take over before the doors get shut down from pinewood in Griffen GA.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

The nurses here are EXTREMELY rude for no reason. It s very obvious they re miserable in their own lives they definitely need a job like this where compassion is a must. I called the state on them specifically Kathy. She s got a really nasty personality and nails down a chalk board voice. The things I have been told by my loved one who was here, they must be used to people who don t have family because I m about to make sure something is done. Go work at McDonald s if you re that unhappy helping people at least then you d have a reason to always sound like Tammy when she was told she could do more. Don t let your loved ones end up here. These nurses are only here for a check and they re not willing to work for it either. Most pathetic sorry excuse group of women I ve ever had the unfortunate opportunity to speak to. They treat the patients like dogs any time they have to move & get off their phones. They don t care to genuinely help. Karma is real fortunately and after myself along with SEVERAL other concerned family members of patients we have started the process of an audits hopefully, and if not I WILL NOT STOP until REAL nurses are in there that care. I m in disbelief at the treatment they give people here.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE . My brother is going thorough a mental crisis & we went to seek help for him. ALL THE STAFF WAS VERY DISMISSIVE & acted like they didn t give a damn about what was going on. The director came out and she was very rude and told us they couldn t help him even though it s a freakin mental crisis center. She was very unprofessional & looked like she was using substances herself. They need to be shut down or needs new staff. Everyone of them acted like they didn t want to deal with it. Even though he was having a breakdown in front of them. I even told them he tried to hurt himself and someone else and they completely dismissed it. So again if u have a loved one.. DO NOT BRING THEM HERE FOR ANY HELP, because u will get turned away. They have no passion whatsoever & Yu can tell it s just a job to them & they are strictly there to collect a paycheck.

In March of 2020, I was sent here at my own request to seek help for my mental health. I went voluntarily but then learned that my wife had committed suicide while I was gone. I was distraught and told the staff. My cats were left alone without food or water for 3 days because they wouldn t let me leave. When I heard my wife s voicemail stating that she had swallowed a bunch of prescription medication I thrashed around the office, screaming and crying. A staff member was sitting right there nonchalantly eating a KFC chicken pot pie. I will never forget it.No matter how I pleaded they kept saying that they need to focus on me . How can I focus on me if I know my pets are starving? They wanted to keep me for a total of 7 days even when I told them my pets would be dead when I came back. They paid me no mind. The only one who cared was Hope. If it wasn t for her I don t know how I would have gotten through my time there.Between the staff there and the Atlanta police department that allowed my wife s body to lay in our bed decomposing for a day and a half while my animals starved for 3 days .I have never been the same. The callous attitudes toward my desperate pleas were so cruelly ignored. I think they thought I was crazy or lying even though I played the voicemail. My wife is dead, my cats were starving but they survived. The discrimination and stigma that is held about mental health, even by the ones who work in the field, has made my mental health much much worse. It is heartbreaking that people who claim to want to help could not see me as human.I am still scarred from this experience nearly 4 years later.

This place is terrible. Do not send your loved ones here. Some of the staff are disrespectful and rude and bottom line ratchet.I understand working with mental health can be tough, but some of these people working here should honestly work at a prison based on how they treat the patients and their families. When you try to talk to someone in charge like the director they don t bother to return calls. This place should be shut down.
