I was here in the 90s. I was a resident when it was Lutherans for the most part I had a good experience but I was bipolar I got into fights alot. I was a very angry child. I had my moments I put the staff through a lot? I still remember the staff I had I was up there earlier today because my dad lives in the retirement community right before it so much has changed over the years. It looks completely different from when it did in the 90s the retirement community was not there then. The horse barn is still there. Most the cottages are gone I was in Riber and white cottage I went to school on campus only for a year and they let me go to zilenople high school cause I earned it I was not an easy child to deal with. The amenities mentioned are false. I just left Davis archway halfway house in July 2024. The sand volley ball court was completely grown in with grass and weeds and infested with ground bees. The horshoe pit was also unusable. We never once in 3 months of being there had a fire in the fire pit. We had 2 sets of cornhole boards that were cheap junk, and one of them wasn’t even usable until a client snuck into the shed to use some tools to fix it. We had no usable cornhole bags until I was there for a month and took a home pass to go get some, despite us asking staff over and over for new ones. The ONLY thing to do for fun was watch TV. As far as treatment goes it wasn’t much better. They were regularly short staffed which meant no one could go to AA/NA meetings on the van those nights. When we did go, they took 1 van… the house has 40 guys. Only the newest members of the house can ride the van to a meeting. So before you even get to phase 2 of the program and are able to seek rides to meetings from people, you get booted off the van list and then can no longer attend meetings at all. When you do phase up and can get rides, it’s extremely difficult. Davis archway is 20 minutes out of town and in the middle of no where. People are hesitant to make that trip consistently especially to take people to meetings whose insurance is paying a faculty to help them with recovery. There are also MANY people in the local AA and NA community who have serious issues with the archway and refuse to go up there for any reason at all. Davis archway also refuses to give rides to NA meetings. They will only take you to NA. They offer you a chance to go to church on Sundays, but again only take one van. So there was never ever close to enough room for all who wanted to go. I’ve seen guys there for 3+ months never make the list to go to church. Davis archway limits your employment opportunities BIG time. And will make up total lies to kick people out when the house is full.

I cannot say enough good about foundations and their staff. The nurses Erin and Edie are God sends. These people have helped save my life and I have many years clean and sober because of their help. People have preconceived notions and judgments about medication assisted recovery but you don t know how it really is. These people care. They don t want you stuck there. They saved my life over and over and I will forever be grateful. I m going on 19 years clean because of their help and services. If you or a loved one needs help, there s no better help out there than foundations. ADDED . I was reading the other reviews and I d love to address the one who says the nurses are horrible human beings. ABSOLUTELY NOT. When you don t follow the rules that are out there for your safety you lose privileges. The nurses are not being mean by having to tell you that you failed a drug test or you didn t show up to group so you can t have the same privileges as those who do what s right.. YOU DID THAT TO YOURSELF. And then he stated someone should burn it down!? If anyone did something so heinous because they can t comply.. you d be totally destroying so many peoples future. Not only would you take innocent peoples jobs but you d crush single moms in recovery and other people trying to make it! How incredibly horrible! If anyone out there wants to get their lives back these people will bend over backwards to help you. Please don t be turned off by a rant from someone who destroyed his own experience by not doing what s right. Part of recovery is taking responsibility for your mistakes. No one can ruin your recovery but you. Foundations is amazing and they care. Especially the AMAZING NURSES! I want to add about my counselor Sydney. I have never in my life felt more advocated for. She is absolutely amazing. The people here truly care and want to see people get better. The only people who have problems are the ones who are completely out of line and disrespectful. They re mad because they don t get privileges but they forget they are the ones who ruin it for themselves. The nurses didn t make you give a positive urinalysis. You did that. I have maintained my privileges for over a decade by simply allowing myself to live a normal life. And I wouldn t have this chance if it wasn t for the help of these great people. Thank you foundation s staff for helping to save my life. My son who I got clean for in the first place is now on his way to becoming a state trooper. If you listen to them and do what you re supposed to do. You will have your life back!
