Ok so at first I gotta admit it was probably the hardest thing I ve done but by the grace of god and all the amazing people at tru healing who helped me through it everyday I did it. Not only did I complete the 30 day program I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Starting with the counselors and case managers, my counselor Ms Mo she is tough but the most helpful and supportive person and I needed your toughness and more importantly she knew I needed that as well and for that I thank her and Mrs bam omg she is the sweetest person ever and helped me everytime and always was there when I needed to talk which was a lot and for that thank you so much. Now another person who was so kind and amazing to me and to everyone was Nate he is an amazing person and such an inspiration thank you so much Nate. I came to Austin Addictions in 2017 for the first time. I was very happy with the intake assessment and the professional staff, both in 2017 and current 2023. Over the years I worked closely with Paige Austin. She s a one in a million type of person she helped me in ways no one else has my whole 34 years on this earth. Paige helped me realize that as long as I am striving and working to be a better me that s all that matters and not to be concerned with others opinions on me. My favorite quote she always said to me was , A flower doesn t go around saying it s a flower. I was at Hoffman Homes for about a year and a half. When I arrived at Hoffman Homes, I barely knew myself. I didn't have a family that was good to me, so I didn't know what it felt like to have people care about me and listen to me. Not only did the staff at Hoffman Homes do this, they worked with me through my ups and downs and never judged me when I was at rock bottom. The programs at Hoffman Homes taught me positive ways to deal with stress, anxiety, and communication. They taught me that there is good in this world. The staff at Hoffman Homes put their sweat and tears into making sure us kids were okay. They worked overtime, they dealt with us when we were not ourselves, and they shared wisdom that only people with experience can share. The many many connections I made taught me that I was a person worthy of love, kindness, and respect. They taught me what was healthy and not healthy and without them, I would not be here today. There are connections and life skills I use to this day, almost two years after discharge. I could never thank you all for the dedication you put into us and our treatment. I owe you my life.

The hospital has been getting a bad rap over the past few years and I believe it's due more to short staffing & the COVID-19 shot policies, and a few bad staff apples. God & C-burg pulled me through septic shock during an 8-day stay. I received practically exemplary care from just about everyone who worked my case, (shout-outs) from Bobby in ER, to CCU nurses, through discharge. Dr. Guthrie in Wound Care continued with me afterwards (all staff there are wonderful). I was too sick to transport anywhere else and they did a great job for me, not initially knowing what all was wrong with me. For them it's probably just another day at work on too long of a shift but for me it was my life.

I learned that life is more than drugs, alcohol and violence I took part in being able to go on some LEAP trips we went canoeing, camping, shark tooth hunting, we even went to Washington DC. I would happily like to update the fact that she no longer works there. That's a great blessing.My son told his awful therapist exactly what she wanted to hear and committed suicide. He was so much smarter than she was. Huge disappointment. She had to say a cuss word every other word out of her mouth, she was very unprofessional. He was of age so she couldn't speak to us, as parents but in all honesty she was a mom hater. Dad would pick him up and she would speak to him for an hour.
