The staff are excellent and my counselor barb was the best. It was really all on what you made of it and if your actually here to recover and better your life I'd highly recommend the program to anyone seeking recovery! I've made life long sober friendships here and I'm extremely grateful for pyramid healthcare!!

What I think about Eastern Avenue is that they have TOO MANY patients compared to the amount of people working at the facility. Of course this can affect the patients because the treatment starts to be sloppy.

For as long as I can remember, I've been trapped in a never-ending cycle of addiction. From the medications prescribed to me as a child, to the prescription opiates I graduated to , I've spent my entire life battling demons that I couldn't escape. And even when I finally found myself on Suboxone, a medication meant to save me from the grip of opioids, I realized that I had simply traded one addiction for another.As the months turned into years, I watched in horror as I lost myself piece by piece. My family, who had always been my rock, began to see the mask that I wore to hide the truth of my struggles. They saw the facade crumbling, and they knew that they were losing me. But even though I was still functioning still working, still taking care of my responsibilities I couldn't shake the feeling of hopelessness that had taken over my life.When my family finally confronted me about my addiction, they suggested that I go to a traditional rehab like some of our relatives had done for their struggles with alcohol. But the idea of locking myself away in a facility for months, cut off from the world and forced to endure a brutal detox, was more than I could bear. I had tried a rapid taper from Suboxone before, and the experience had been hellish. The physical withdrawals had been agonizing, and the mental and emotional toll had lingered for months to up to a full year . I knew that I couldn't put myself through that again.From a young age, I had always been drawn to non-traditional approaches to healing. I had a deep distrust of Western medicine and its tendency to mask symptoms rather than address the root causes of illness. And as I struggled with my addiction, this feeling only intensified. I knew that I couldn't continue down the path of taking pill after pill, never really getting better. But I didn't know what other options were available to me.That's when I remembered a documentary that I had seen about ibogaine, a powerful plant medicine that had been used for centuries in rituals in Africa. I had been fascinated by the stories of people who had used ibogaine to overcome addiction, and I couldn't help but feel a spark of hope. But as I began to research, I realized that ibogaine was illegal in the US, and that seeking treatment would mean traveling to a foreign country.Despite my fears, I knew that I had to explore this option. I couldn't continue down the path that I was on, and I was desperate for a way out. So when my family asked me what I wanted to do, I told them about ibogaine. The facility was beautiful, with lush gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. They even had a resident pup named Poppy and a cat named Reese. And from the moment that I met Diane and her husband George, I knew that I was in the right place. They greeted me with warm smiles, open arms, and they made me feel like I was family. My nurse Chuy, monitored my health as I began the process of tapering off subs. He was kind, non-judgmental , and quite the chef. When I finally emerged from the ibogaine experience, I was shocked by how clear and focused I felt. I had no cravings, and I felt no withdrawal symptoms. It was as if the medicine had reset my brain and body, giving me a fresh start. I am finally living the life that I deserve. Been to a few IOP's. This one is by far my favorite across the board. The counselors are top-notch! So professional, relatable, and insightful. They really have a way of making ALL feel so comfortable to open up and heal. It feels so much like a family that graduates keep popping back in...just to visit, say hello, and help out. I plan on being one of them!Oh...and the snacks, of course! Damn, they treat you right in there.
