Hi. This place may get a lot of negative reviews but it s because most of the folks that reviewed mces were patients that were told no . You cannot do whatever you want when you want to. This place is structured with helpful groups and activities. Maybe they didn t go. I can t speak on the medications, but the nurses do not write the orders. The nurses carry out the orders made by the Dr that saw you. Please be patient and be respectful, they are trying to help you.The tech are amazing. There are techs that specialize in many areas such as card players , chess games. Some folks are better than others in the hospitality area but there are others that pick up where some lack. We work together to help y all out. Some folks need a bit more encouraging to bathe so they may get a gentle push while others; we need to move them along to the shower room. The staff care for all the patients and we do our best to help everyone. The crises area had a big makeover and it is amazing in there, very comfortable . The bathrooms were redone and the food is really good. Yes staff tear that food up too, lol . The snacks seem like they re for kids, meaning you get a little pudding, a packet of cracked (saltines or graham) jello, chips sometimes and a little juice, but you can have more than 1 .The only reason the rodents were in the rooms was because the patients kept food in their rooms and housekeeping could only do so much . The patients hoard and hide food in the drawers and under the blankets because they try to save it for overnights. But they created that problem with pests. Housekeepers are constantly sweeping mopping the floors.I can say that in the last year, there has not been any pests (new vents) and the food is really good. The snack machines stay full and from a techs perspective, they really try to keep the place up. Housekeepers do not get enough credit. They are amazing. The techs are amazing as well as we do the best we can to accommodate the patients even when they are miserable and needy. We are a service to the county and we didn t make you come here. Maybe those that complain about the smallest things should reevaluate themselves and get right. As we have all levels of care here. This is not a shelter or a place to hide from the authorities. This is a real psychiatric hospital and we help and treat those in need. We are more than just 3 hots and a cot .Just know that all staff care about your well being and do our very best to accommodate your needs while you are here.Don t be so angry that all you do is see red and yelling and cussing everyone out. What can you do to change your circumstances that you put yourselves in. Good luck to anyone in crises and please do not allow the lack of discernment steer you away from getting the help you need.

I recently graduated from STR. I was in programming between May to September, originally PHP and then in the IOP mental health program. While in PHP I was in housing as well. There are family sessions offered too, but I did not utilize that service while at STR.While the house I was at was not perfect, administration tried their best to accommodate every concern clients had with the house. It was overall a clean and safe environment to live in. If there are any concerns advocate for yourself and ask a tech to call a house meeting if it is an interpersonal issue within the house. If you have a different issue communicate that to the director and it will most likely be handled promptly. The PHP (partial hospitalization program) for mental health is six days a week, 9am-1:30 Monday-Friday and 9am-12pm Saturdays. The program changes as needs change. When I first began there process groups were three hours long, but when I left they were two hours long with an additional hour of psych ed. While the day may seem long, everyone gets a break between noon and 12:30. Afternoon there are different types of therapy everyday like art therapy, DBT, CBT.IOP (intensive outpatient program) is only 9am-12pm three days a week, usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The director is accommodating though so if for any reason you need to not go on a Monday, you could always go on a Saturday if you advocate for yourself. You ll have one individual session a week with one of the clinicians. I had Ashley and she is phenomenal. While the staff really do care about the clients, Ashley definitely cares about clients and it shows in her work. You ll also have a session with either Dr. Newman or Monique once a week to go over medications they are both amazing!STR is shaped not just by the staff, but clientele too. I have reinforced and grew my support system while being at STR. And while I was in the mental health program, I have substance use disorder as well, I d recommend Steps to recovery struggling with their mental health or substance use. It may take a couple of weeks to really settle into the program, but continue to do the work since you are worth it and advocate for yourself if something isn t working for you.STR is also a great facility if you re part of the LGBTQ+ community. The staff here are not just accepting, but affirming. There is an optional LGBTQ+ group once a week with Christian, which was my favorite part of the week.

I am pleased to give this 5-star review of MRC. I attended PHP and IOP, and had individual counseling twice a week. The counselors are excellent. They encourage a lot of participation in the groups. The topics are relevant to recovery- stress management, 12 steps, nutrition, body-mind connection, gratitude, and a lot more. Weekly yoga is offered and it doesn't matter what level you are. I was supported and cared for all the way through the process of outpatient recovery.

Joshua colegrove1/4/2025May 31st 2024 I began my journey into recovery from alcoholism and substance abuse. This was a life long battle for me since my early 20's. I am now 40. I did 35 days In residential at avenues in lake Ariel which is stabilization period Before going to a 6 month program at avenues bucks county php and IOP to see and be cared for by the most caring and loving, knowledgeable, dependable and down right compassionate go to the ends and back for clients type staff and counselors. While at avenues of bucks county I had the opportunity to really dig deep and find who I really am in life as I have been lost in addiction for 20 years with the help of my counselor cristi brown. Cristi is one of the most intelligent, caring and passionate person when it comes to her clients and addiction/recovery and will dig deep and go to the moon and back to support, and make sure no pages are unturned. Highly recommend all of the counselors there warren, who is very passionate also about recovering speaks from the heart and lives his clients.also to mention Mike as he was very helpful and caring and would talk to you and care for you even if he wasnt your counselor. Joyce,Alex and the two new counselors are very great also I personally didn't get to work with them but from all I've seen and in there group sessions they are truly sincerely passionate and go over and beyond for there clients as well. Big shout out to the boss man himself Joe Kane!!! Then there is Marisa wall the caseworker there who helped me with all my financial and insurance for disability and everything in a timely manner, very professional to say the least. Shout out to Alyssa Brennan for all her hard work and dedication as well. For being the alumni coordinator and making sure that when your program is up and you. Graduate there is still room for alumni to stay connected to clients and staff and hold alumni meetings. It's like your truly still a part of the most wonderful program and facility ever. Shout out to Lori the intake coordinator along with Tim they both make each person feel welcome and made me very comfortable and at ease in such a scary and anxious and unknown state of mind upon arriving. Also would like to say Shawn the pnr there and arty were the best medical providers that I've ever seen at a rehabilitation center. I'd also like to say that the behavioral health technicians are truly just as amazing, Loving and caring and protective of the clients from getting them to meeting everyday and being another support network they truly go beyond what there job entitles. Thank you Pat the house manager. And Mike Paul Javon Austin Colton and chick for everything you have ever done for me. i am forever grateful. Upon leaving and completing the program cristi insured that I had a steady job in place as well as a full and completely honest plan for after care. I highly recommend avenues recovery center for any person in any situation of addiction as they are far more then just a rehabilitation center. It's a place to call home while your there because it has that nice comfortable and at home feeling with a sense of warmth and true community and love for all.!! Thanks you again all of you at avenues of bucks I will forever be grateful for everything and helping me live a clean and sober life and most importantly you helped me "FIND MY WAY HOME"
