I was there at the end of 2013, took my recovery seriously, I loved all the therapists, individual and group activities, I loved that they weren t based on a 12 step program (although, I m in AA now) and that we were allowed to use our cellphones and laptops (the only reason I chose that place). I just got home from my treatment stay here and wow ! Just wow! I had a relapse recently this year after a miscarriage and could not find proper treatment for the trauma I endured, let alone My alcohol issues that resurfaced after my loss. When first showing up in very bad shape and asking for help as was treated with respect and care way above what I deserved from anyone the doctors the receptionist Josh who is now running the show and the most important person Connie who has been nothing but great to me it took me a while to get with the program I was still trying to do things my way. I got to admit I definitely had pause about coming to this facility because of all the negative reviews. And not knowing what to expect considering that I have never been to rehab or any type of detox program. Im thankful that I made my own decision and ignored all them negative reviews based on the fact that I really wanted the help. It was hard the first couple days, but the staff and other patients kept on pushing me giving me encouragement. I have no favorite nurse they were all great ,but I have to give a shoutout to the nurse Aaron. She was so nurturing, caring and super helpful made me feel like I was in good hands seemed like she genuinely cared during my detox process. (Which was so hard for me) I m blessed to say I successfully completed the program. It was definitely an experience, to say the least!! but I stuck it out!! And I also met some coo people there. I was at Hoffman Homes for about a year and a half. When I arrived at Hoffman Homes, I barely knew myself. I didn't have a family that was good to me, so I didn't know what it felt like to have people care about me and listen to me. Not only did the staff at Hoffman Homes do this, they worked with me through my ups and downs and never judged me when I was at rock bottom. The programs at Hoffman Homes taught me positive ways to deal with stress, anxiety, and communication. They taught me that there is good in this world. The staff at Hoffman Homes put their sweat and tears into making sure us kids were okay. They worked overtime, they dealt with us when we were not ourselves, and they shared wisdom that only people with experience can share. The many many connections I made taught me that I was a person worthy of love, kindness, and respect. They taught me what was healthy and not healthy and without them, I would not be here today. There are connections and life skills I use to this day, almost two years after discharge. I could never thank you all for the dedication you put into us and our treatment. I owe you my life.

I didn't know what to expect coming here as it was my first time at a rehab, and I was pleasantly suprised within hours of checking in. The staff are an incredible group of people; they really do care about you and your recovery. More than once I had techs, nurses and counselors go out of their way to help me and my peers out. There is always someone to talk to for help; I was never turned away when I really needed something. The food is good (shoutout to Lonnie), you will always have clean laundry and linens and a bed to sleep in. If you need help with legal or insurance this place will work with you to get you squared away. Make no mistake, you will have expectations here and be held accountable. But if you are serious about getting better and willing to put in the work I don't think you'll find many places better than White Deer Run. I look forward to returning as a guest speaker in the future!
