As an R.N. who worked there for one year & absolutely loved MY JOB! LOVED MY PATIENTS and Enjoyed most of my dear coworkers. I gave Parkside 150%. I provided breaks, admissions when Rns needed extra help, audit charts, audit our audits, help MHTs with breaks, worked in all Units. I bought food for patients when there was no solid substantial food, bought patients hundreds of dollars of Suffies for their comfort, bought hundreds of dollars of clothing for patients who did not have clothing, blankets, and bought many fig-its. Offered to pay tuition for patient to attend the awesome POPs program, donated monthly for the food bank. Gave MY ALL!!!We lost 9 or 10 nurses in 10 months by resignation. Four by force.**From 1 House Supervisor Apple, Paula Rn (doesn't follow protocol in staff illness/emergency,- not the HS or CNO was ever questioned...or reprimanded. From Cno, Ano, Ceo, HR.. (other admin.) Very apparent..NONE give any importance to nurses who truly CARE about patients and to those who have strong work ethics. The CNO abuses his power position by not adhering to national standards of IP-there are STEPs he does not adhere too & does not investigate accusations and HIRED a brand-new Acno, with no previous psychiatric experience, she does not thoroughly perform own investigation on issues. No level headed or logical thought by either one, both are CUT THROAT!!! Don't work here!! The administration is not holistic to nurses, at all, not a healthy psychological place for nurses. For this place to advertise they are HEALING... they are NOT INTO HEALING OR HELPING NURSES & RNs who GIVE BIG HEART TO PARKSIDE!Nurses and MHTs have left by droves, by many demands!!Admin ignores cries for help or true concerns from nurses. Staffing ratios are often not met properly, they put patients and staff in harm's way. The CNO is notbeing reprimanded or being held accountable, for inappropriate staffing ratios. The PARKSIDE I knew 7 years ago, was awesome. Not now!!! Parkside is too top-heavy with management. For Beware of thisdeplorable administration-- enemy within.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Communication sucks. No one ever lets you know what's happening with your loved ones. Takes 2-3 days for returned calls intake was ridiculous the lady was so rude. It's like no one here cares about anything. I will never recommend this place to anyone

I just want it to be known that this hospital doesn't understand medicine. Medical Marijuana is legal in the state of Oklahoma for both minors and adults, which is something this place does not understand. You can have doctor recommendations from 3 doctors and your medical marijuana card, but they will say that's your problem. They just don't understand medicine. It could be your problem, but if you have your card like I do then you probably use it as medicine and to cope not just recreationally. I was in the a teen unit and I understand why they didn't even try to understand medicine in my case, because the the troubled children who have nothing going other then smoking all day abuse it and they couldn't have a case where that wasn't the problem. They even had a guy ask what me and a few other girls who smoked wanted to be in life. They followed with if you smoke you can't have it or accomplish this, but I want you all to know you can very much do that medical marijuana exist and a hospital should be able to grasp that concept. I wouldn't send my child or anyone to a hospital that can't grasp medical concepts. Also I am currently working towards my degree for what I want to be in life and I have been since I was sophomore in highschool through concurrent classes. Medical Marijuana doesn't make you stupid or ignorant but this place pushes that narrative.

When we arrived there was only one woman running the lobby. She opened the door handed me a clipboard and took us off to an emergency room in the back that locks, and forgot about us. For hours. She didn't ask my childs name or why we were there... I had to call them to get them to come get us. I tried waving at the other woman that was sitting directly across the hallway, but she never looked up. HOW DO YOU FORGET ABOUT PEOPLE IN A LOCKED ROOM THAT HAS A CAMERA IN IT? I will never ever bring anybody I love here ever again. Let alone ever recommend this place. If you can forget about people in a waiting room and provide zero hospitality, I could only IMAGINE how you people treat your patients.

They are horrible! My brother & I took my niece there, to try to get help for her.She has special needs & so they weren't able to help her.. ok that's fine. The lady then goes on to say, that my niece wouldn't be able to take care of herself , when she turns 18... OkShe says to us "you should really about giving the state custody" bc she told us, basically that we aren't old & my niece will out live us. We are in our early 40s! She didn't introduce herself as God.. when we met, do I'm confused as to how, she knows our death day.She also doesn't know what , ideas & resources we have for her care. My niece will never get a chance to be mistreated, by the state of Oklahoma.Idk if the state pays them to recruit for a kick back or what, but I will be talking to someone about this incident.I wasn't able to say what I needed to, bc my niece was there. We were there for a different reason, so there was no reason for her suggestion

We're concerned about your complaint. Care and help are provided to many people each day but what you describe is not consistent with services routinely provided. If you would like to talk with someone, please call 918-582-2131 and ask to speak with the Director of Business Development or the Access Manager. We d like to hear from you and we are always looking to improve.

First off, I want to say WHAT A FRESH BREATH OF AIR compared to Laureate . If I could save anyone from going through the horror I went through @ LAUREATE I will, @PARKSIDE is SO much more professional and put together. @MASI is UNMATCHED, her energy, attitude and smile are always there. She does an OUTSTANDING job calling and confirming your appointment/reminding. @LAUREATE I was told APPOINTMENT REMINDERS/THE CARD THEY GIVE YOU WITH YOUR APPOINTMENT WHEN LEAVING IS A curtesy NOT mandatory . RIDICULOUS. Parkside has done a great job of communicating with me as ANY mental health physicality should. Dr.Sharp works WONDERS, she is genuine about her work, and really really listens to you. She is there anytime I need her, and she is full of resources. I have never been so comfortable with a MH professional. She really makes me feel seen and heard. I could go on and on about how great Masi & Dr.Sharp are, my outpatient experience has been night and day different from past MH Professionals . I learned the hard way through experience on WHO actually takes MH and their clients seriously and appropriately. NEGATIVE stars for others, 5 stars for outpatient services. LOVE Masi & Dr.Sharp. You guys do change lives, thank you for the work you do.

I was in residential a couple of times and the staff there are very kind, they care and want to help you get better. The groups are amazing and very educational. You can learn alot of useful information from them if you want the help. It's also a reward system, so you get points for good behavior, getting along with other people, eating your food, making your bed, etc. It helps show your progress while you're there and it made me feel better about myself working towards leadership. I have some bad experiences there but it doesn't take away from the fact that its a great place to get help if you really want to better yourself. Parkside residential is by far the best mental hospital I've been too.
