I would not recommended any Veteran for hospitalization at Palo Alto for medical observation.I experienced multiple serious issues due to medical malpractice. I had trouble emptying my bladder and was at risk for kidney failure with an elevated PSA. After being admitted to the hospital, I had constant bleeding from an improperly installed catheter and major issues with blood draws. My left foot was neglected, causing tingling and numbness, and I needed two blood transfusions. Compression socks cut off circulation to my left foot, turning it black and blue. Despite my requests, my eye drops were not administered properly, leading to blurred vision. Lastly, I was terrorized by the person who brought me to the car.Medical negligence.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants engaged in 12 step programs receive intensive peer coaching (sponsorship) and community support. Spiritual development as a means of achieving psychological and emotional healing and growth is the cornerstone of 12 step recovery, but religious affiliations are not required. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public, though specialized formats are available, including groups for seniors, teens, and family members. Evening, night, and day meetings are conducted year-round in most communities.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When an individual is in denial about their substance use disorder, their loved ones may organize a drug intervention in California. This effort involves gently but assertively confronting the individual about their substance use and sharing how it has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist may also attend this gathering. Their expertise with intervention services can prove helpful in guiding the conversation to a positive result.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

California's mental health and substance abuse rehabs provide dual-diagnosis treatment options for individuals looking to address co-occurring disorders. These programs are usually offered on either an inpatient or outpatient basis. You can usually expect a mental health assessment and personalized treatment plan, evidence-based therapies, like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential therapies like equine therapy, skills groups, and counseling to simultaneously address both mental health and substance abuse and drastically increase your chances of long-term sobriety.

If I can give a -5 I would. My experience with them, as well as the ME ofice it was horrific. Uncaring, unprofessional, the worst. They use the pandemic to do as little as possible. No wonder people are living california. Terrible, terrible experience, don't wish it on my worst enemy. Is been a while since my last review, nothing has changed. Maybe instead of investing in brick and mortar, they should invest in the human factor. Is a disgrace for a mother to find out her only child died in their so called care, and she found out through face book from family from another continent. Incompetence to the highest level. Our veterans are being mistreated and ignored, while criminals and iligals are treated a hell of lot better. Is a crying shame. So I did some more resarch, and even more disturbing findings. At the salary we pay those doctors and nurses, the should earn their salary. The failure of proper treatment and keeping the family's informed comes last. All they care is to cover themselves and to hell with end result. Someone made a coment about being a great place for taking your last breath. Are you kiding me, when a veteran ask for help with PTSD, you do everything in you power to help, use all your resourses to save a life. Is a disgrace at the amount of money this medical staff gets paid and veterans are dying under their care. Disgrace and shame. Something is wrong and definitely needs to change. It's absolutely amazing to see how terrible the care is, ms Squire and Castillo should lose their jobs due to failing on doing their job. Is a disgrace and absolute failure in treating our veterans.Guess California puts veterans last.

Best hospital and staff I have seen. However, the staff her is overworked and probably under paid. I was in a four person room with one nurse. I don t know if that is the norm, but it seems like they were running around like chickens. Thank you so much to the nurses and staff for your care and patience in 3A, 3C and 3A.A few people that deserve a few call outs, 3C Steve and Loran, 3A New took me to a bed when the front desk staff said I would have to wait in the lobby. She was already taking care of other veteran's and had no issues of helping me out then and there. The front desk staff said they were understaffed, so it made since for me to sit outside, but New hooked me up. The preop nurses were also great to me as well. Thank you for calling my wife to inform her the surgical team was running behind. I don t remember your name, but you know who you are. Anesthesia, thanks for the rock star drugs that made it so, I didn t get sick after the surgery. To my ENT Dr. Niok surgical team. Top notch surgeons. Thank you for taking care of my nasal and sinus surgery. Ya ll are the best of the best.V/r,Tim Canup
