Oxford House Stride is a self-supported and self-managed home for people recovering from drug use disorders in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Due to the democratic nature of this special setting, residents can design a secure encouraging living environment. This promotes healing without the intervention of a house manager or other outside authority.
You and your fellow residents will share duties in this house, with each person contributing to household expenses and chores. This group effort promotes responsibility and collaboration, which are critical to your healing process. For the sake of everyone’s safety, all members are expected to lead drug- and alcohol-free lives. Those who revert to substance use are expelled.
This model is based on the principle of self-governance. You’ll be able to influence everything from choosing new members to handling money. Regardless of length of service all members are equal and have one vote each. A simple majority serves as the guide for decision making in participatory democracy.
Six elected members help in organization and management of the house. Current members of the house interview new members after they complete an application process. Thus, each person is guaranteed to align with the values and objectives of the community.
Once you’re accepted, you can stay as long as you stay sober, help out around the house, and follow the rules. This model places a strong emphasis on the development of critical life skills and self-efficacy. Peer support training and personal development opportunities are all provided to members within a servant leadership framework.

Other Forms of Payment
Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.
Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.
