If I had to go back I would be here. I was there for 17 days and never felt uncared for. I was pretty emotional and they always cared. I have made some friends for life. The food was another creature all together. I was being pushed to eat because of the healing process. I couldn t. Needs work. Housekeeping wasn t good. What was done was done by the care staff. And they don t have the time.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Typically, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in Kentucky involves four types of therapy sessions. You'll participate in a pre assessment, skills training in groups, individual therapy, and telephone crisis coaching. The goal is to improve your skills for coping with daily emotions and life challenges.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

This review would be zero if it could do that, I have written reviews about my past stays in the hospital this is about their outpatient care which used to be good but no more. I am dealing with my 4 infection with my knee replacement which was done at this hospital in 2020. I let my surgeon who worked at the hospital at the time talk me into going to Louisville biggest mistake of my life now no surgeon but the one in Louisville that is impossible for me to get to will treat me. In the past infections I used their home care but they won 't treat me because 2 years ago one of the nurses said she came to my house and knocked on the door and called me and ask where I was I was there she never knocked my dogs would have alerted me so her manage believed her and discharged me and I now have a permanent ban there. So the last couple of times this has happened I have been forced to drive to the hospital to their out patient infusion center which is on the top floor of the hospital. They are wonderful by the way however today there were not wheelchairs when i left valet parking so I have to hop with my walker all the way up to the 7th floor. Had I had home care this would not have to happen. Also I need some of my sutures removed next week since Louisville is so far away and I can't drive that far and don't have transportation my surgeon wrote a order for the wound care center to do that and dressing change. I suggested that since I don't have home care and in the past when I used wound care for wounds they did a magnificent job. They refused to do it because they wanted to do more care than is needed like debredment and said I was under the care of my surgeon. Lots of people who go there are seeing a surgeon for wounds and incisions that are difficult to heal one of my friends from Indiana went there for that. The manager of the wound center said she called all of the hospitals minor emergency clinics that are part of the hospital and they all refused to help. My primary care doctor doesn't do suture removals in the office but gave me the number for Deaconess Hospital of Evansville outpatient clinic in Owensboro on Hwy 54 they said it was no problem to do this to just come in next week and they didn't even need a doctors order. What does this say about our hospital system that they don't even care enough to help a life long resident of this city and county with something so simple. That is the problem with this hospital they absolutely do not care about their people. If you have a serious or complicated case ship them out as fast as you can, part of it is they can't recruit decent doctors and the other is they don't want to be responsible for patients that is what they did to me 4 years ago when I trusted them. Despite that I have continued to use their other care services and now I can't even get the most basic care suture removals done. Yet a out of town based hospital facility here stepped up to help me. This hospital can't even keep a wheelchair for when you come into the hospital for care at the door and no one even offers to help you. The women at the desk which is right there didn't even let anyone know there were not chairs in the front door. Its pathetic if you try to talk to their patient expeirince people they will listen but don't have the power to do anything, they are just a place for people to complain to while the hospital continues business as usual. This is why when I first got sick this time I drove to Evansville. I knew they wouldn't help me here just ship me off to a worse hospital Jewish in Louisville that what they did a year ago. Read the reviews on it that is the only hospital I have been to that is worse than Owensboro my sister had to come recue me from there when Owensboro shipped me there against my will.
