My daughter has struggled for 15 years with addiction. She was going to OFR for about 18 months and she was doing well. Her counselor Mike was wonderful. My daughter also struggles with bi-polar which is not uncommon in addicts. She went for her Friday bottles and was not feeling well. She was told she would not be dosed until she could see the doctor which meant a wait of over 2 hours. (It is also a 2 hour round trip) she was irritated and had words with the staff. They dosed her after the 2 hour wait, asked her to come back on Monday and gave her 6 take home bottles rapid detoxing her 3 mils a day til she was done. That was about 4 weeks ago. She is still having horrible withdrawals, both physical and mental. She has been hospitalized and is suffering. What they did to her was cruel. I m not excusing her behavior but the medical staff should understand that she is an addict and she is bi polar. I m not sure if what they did was legal but the ramifications of this has been devastating. She is a human being. The medical staff should have a little compassion for these people.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
telehealth iconTelehealth
Telehealth is a real-time communication between you and your physician via telecommunications equipment. This might involve a video call, phone call, or medical app. It may also include the transmission of medical information via sharing technology.

Treatments

You can find comprehensive substance abuse treatment in New Jersey in drug and alcohol rehabs. These treatment programs typically provide a full continuum of care including medically assisted detox, inpatient, outpatient, dual-diagnosis, and intensive outpatient. With a comprehensive substance abuse evaluation, addiction experts provide individualized treatment plans to meet your specific needs. These programs address substance use disorders using evidence-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), individual and family counseling, and recovery support groups.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides a structure to approach healing from past traumatic events that you may have witnessed or experienced. Your therapist will work with you to identify and process these memories. This helps promote a sense of safety and stability and helps you heal emotionally.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New Jersey typically follows a set structure of treatment. The therapist helps clients identify their life challenges and their thoughts surrounding those challenges. The client then learns to identify unhealthy thought patterns and reshape those into healthy patterns of thinking and behavior.

Building life skills allows you to demolish negative patterns of behavior and build new, healthy patterns. By building new thought processes, coping strategies, and behaviors, you establish a solid foundation for recovery.

Motivational interviewing helps clients find their motivation to change. It can be an effective method to work with clients who are angry or hostile or feel insecure about their ability to make changes in their lives. It is often used during addiction treatment or to manage physical health conditions.

Recreational therapy is a dynamic approach to addiction treatment in New Jersey. It integrates activities like music therapy, team sports, and gardening so you have a therapeutic outlet for your emotions and stress. This improves your physical and mental health and helps you develop new skills to support a sober lifestyle.

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It s not just all about the medication, it s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything s going well. I ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

When I first came to the organization I had the mind set that I was getting a "free high". Yet GOD has a plan that often differs from man. I was introduced to staff of "professional" givers of love and STERN concern. The admissions staff made my intake feel although I was enrolling in a school for my life and they were paying my tuition, thanks "T".The window was my first experience with change my new lil sis, often reminded me why I was there and showed me love like we knew one another for decades. Love my 3 new neices. The "DOC", from some reason she believes in "US". For me, from day one she seen the "ME" that I forgot to be. The nursing staff is sooo straight forward with the concern of my health that I was embarrassed to be "dirty". They CARED if I used! The EXTRAORDINARY amount of time and consideration the counseling staff has willingly given to me is by no means deserved I'm very hard headed. Yet, they never gave up on me. One awesome counselor dropped me to help me for her I am forever grateful. BMW FOR LIFE SIS! When times was crazy for me, my counselor got me into treatment asap. She knew what I didn't. I was slowly committing suicide. "G" you saved my life. I was blessed to be co-conseled by an angelic songbird her REALNESS is everything for me. "SING GIRL SING". There are 2 brothers that give some STRAIGHT forward groups that allow me to be open about my shortcomings and they are crazy enough to call me on my b.s. "J" stay in the paint brah, Moose, you already know H.T.P for life. The security staff always made me feel welcomed like a guest in the Hilton. Mr. G you're awesome. There's one person who my FAMILY holds in high regards when it comes to my life nowadays. She has been here for us when I knew not how to be here for them. Her EXTREME show of STERN CONCERN in my life helped me to develop a REAL relationship with myself then my family. MRS. LENORE MY LIFE HAS BECOME AN ACTUAL LIFE! I sincerely thank you for your time and unwavering support. I can write a book about the life changing experience I am having here, yet it would do no justice for all this place mean to me. You guys saved my whole life. I will always be indebted to you all May Allah bless and guide us.

Organization for Recovery has saved countless lives including my own. They have a fantastic program with options of methadone or suboxone. The counselors are phenomenal and really care. I spent over a decade going from rehab to rehab and detox to detox and have had dozens of counselors and NONE of those held a candle to the counselor I had at OFR. On top of that, they really care about their patients and want to do whatever they can to improve the program. I was lucky to be part of the very first Patient Advocacy Committee which gathered patients that wanted to help make the program better. And we put many positive changes into the program to make it better. They actually read the suggestions that patients put in the suggestion box and the PAC committee does they re best to make it happen. This program has saved countless lives including my own. I was able to get my life back together and go to school to eventually become an addiction counselor myself. Thank you OFR and all the amazing counselors (especially Marsha!)

Sept. 30th. 2013 my first day at OFR scary. I was hounded by my sister in law Verrie Horne AKA) Malika she wouldn't stop calling me and asking me did you call them yet, she comes by my house one day picks up my phone and dials the number and I began my journey of learning a new way to live now don't get me wrong it was a lot of ups and downs and hits and misses a Struggle. I this place and I wouldn't change my experience with them for anyone in the world. I'm learning myself all over again and I realize I have the power to make it . Thank you Pee-Wee R.I.P
