I was drinking about a half gallon of vodka a day. I loved all the energy there and the people and the staff.My favorite thing there was my counselor john, he really aided in my recovery. Recently, after a week-and-a-half hospital stay, my mother spent about two-and-a-half weeks here at Hillside. She was treated very well, very kindly, and very attentively. Was a great place to get help and learn about REBT therapy back in early 90's. I was in there with Larry Hagman shortly after he lost his role on Dallas. Sally was a great phycologist. She had studied under Albert Ellis. It was an old beautiful mansion that had strict rules and regiments including strict diets (mine was hypoglycemic). The food was great! I was here from 11 years old to 13, I had been to the oregon state mental hospital, trillium, farm home and youth villages, and out of all of them, this place is the best. I have mixed feelings about jasper. I left a better person I do believe, but I was not ever stayed in contact with like I was told, and that hurt. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I had got to know everybody I was there with, staff members, Ethan is one I really remember, and there was a short man with a ring he would play with and we would play chess. I have been doing really well if anyone remembers me. Really happy to see you guys are still on a mission. Not sure why 7 years later I decided to leave a review at 1:35 in the morning, but here I am.
