Witnessing a loved one hit rock bottom is a scary and heartbreaking experience, especially when you hadn t realized they were struggling with addiction. Then having to suddenly research treatment facilities was a raw mix of emotions. Thankfully we found Tree House Recovery PDX to help guide our entire family through the treatment journey, starting with my brother who was struggling with alcoholism.Tree House Recovery PDX is a holistic addiction treatment program for men. When first visiting their site, I immediately noticed their empowering voice mixed with an emphasis on team-focused, complete recovery not to mention MMA, Yoga, and Writing Therapy. Tree House treats the mind, body, and spirit for sustainable recovery, by building strength through fitness, addiction education, writing, 1:1, group sessions, etc. The more we learned about their holistic approach, the more we were ready to contact an admissions counselor and ultimately my brother made the decision to enter the program.Privacy is of the utmost importance at Tree House Recovery PDX, so I don t want to disclose too much, but know that the entire team treats everyone with care, respect, and professionalism. Clinical Director Karen Willock's monthly family group sessions were particularly impactful, and Nevin Andrews was incredibly responsive and kind throughout my brother s 5-month treatment. Everyone continues to be supportive, too.As a family member of a program graduate, I would wholeheartedly recommend Tree House Recovery PDX.

This is a good place to begin your journey and general understanding of what it takes to walk the path of getting clean and bettering yourself as a person. The owner understands the sacrifices, costs, risks, and determination it costs for her Center s patients to begin that path of getting and staying clean from their substance abuse. They are interested and understanding. The same has to come from the patient though and not just their end.

There is nothing negative I can say about this place. There are always going to be bad reviews and good reviews. Most bad reviews are probably exacerbated in this kind of environment. These environments are extremely difficult to work in from a councilors perspective. From a patients perspective not only at this center but multiple others unfortunately. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have worked with multiple employees and for the most part. I can't complain about anything. I have been fortunate enough to be assigned to work with one of the best councilors. I don't usually name drop but Carrie A is a God sent. I have worked with various counselors. However as far as acknowledging, caring, understand, providing resources, validating, relating, ECT... ECT... ECT... It has been nothing but a huge blessing to have someone like Carrie in my recovery corner. My recovery path hasn't been easy and I'm still working on things. Im still climbing the uphill path to recovery. I still have a way ahead of me. However I'm not falling as much. I'm now learning to rest and keep going. I didn't get here overnight. This has been a long time coming for me. I have been dealing with my substance since I was about twelve years old. That's when my addiction started. Now after being in the worst situation I have ever been in since I started my addiction. I'm finally in a better place and on track with knowing where the right direction is. More then I have ever been. Especially with the ongoing support and direction I have been received.I haven't reached all of my goals but as far as so sobriety goes. It's night and day. Yes I'm putting the work in. However when you have someone who backs you up and hasn't given up on you because of the holistic understanding, knowledge, and experiences. In addition the mental health background that correlates with it. Means more then anyone who just only has an education and wants to help. Not to say a education doesn't matter. However with only an education. I can only say based off my experiences. Only a small percentage of these people are able to stay in these jobs and are able to relate and help others for so long and stay successful. In this environment the ones who have the experience, maintain security, and are willing to help others are the ones who succeed the most. They are also the most effective helping others succeed.Anyway thank you another chance and a huge thank you to Carrie A.Matthew

I cannot say enough positive things about Awakenings by the Sea. I just discharged after a 30 day stay and I can honestly say it was a life changing experience. The staff, all around, are so kind and caring! The counselors work hard to provide both group education AND individualized treatment plans. No two patients have exactly the same needs or concerns and I was so impressed by my counselor, Vicky, and her ability to take what I shared with her in 1:1 sessions and come up with meaningful, therapeutic assignments to help me process some of my specific needs. I made many great friends with the other patients in my time at Awakenings too! I ll never forget this experience

U-Turn for Christ in Grants Pass is a truly unique and effective place for those genuinely seeking to move forward from lives of addiction and self-destruction. We have seen the life of a family member, who had been in a death-spiral for nearly 30 years, be transformed into something amazing. I had the opportunity to visit the U-Turn ranch, talk with the men there working toward restoration, and seeing the unbelievable results of what a Christ-centered recovery environment has accomplished. Not only have the lives of these men been radically changed for their own good and the good of our society, but the impact to the extended families (moms, dads, siblings, children, etc.) has been phenomenal. Some reviews I've read are critical of the methods employed at the ranch. Having served in the US Military, however, gives one the wisdom and understanding that some men are more stubborn than the average person and often choose the harder road. In my experience, these men that have suffered long term addictions, homelessness, abuse and even prison time, generally do not change when the road to recovery is easy.U-Turn for Christ in Grants Pass doesn't offer the easy recovery road. They do, however, offer enormous love and compassion for those who choose the hard path to recovery. None of these men are forced to stay at the ranch - they do so voluntarily. Our family member need several attempts to complete the program without giving up. But what dramatic and wonderful results we have seen as we saw Jesus break through all of the tough outward defenses and form a new man, even to become a leader of others struggling as he had. A modern-day miracle! We are deeply grateful to the many who have worked tirelessly to help these men. A special shout-out to Calvary Chapel Grants Pass and to those who are storing up treasures in Heaven as they see lives transformed directly due to their efforts. What they don't often see are the dozens of lives that are touched through each of the men they help. Families are healed in ways no ordinary rehab program can accomplish.U-Turn for Christ is exactly what it says: make a u-turn on the road leading to death and start traveling on the road leading to life.

They've been so helpful for a very long time, it's a shame that they're being overrun by a crowd of problematic people, because I can't always be safe in the waiting room without some sort of drama, some of which is dangerous, I have even caught strep from this waiting room. When outside, there's people sitting on the ground and blocking the way, also panhandlers, you can't sit in the car with the window down without being asked for stuff repeatedly. The road up to it isn't much better, the same people are ruining the garbage cans and are throwing glass on the ground, which is actually really bad for my wheelchair, at one point there was fecal matter all around the entrance in such a way I couldn't go around it, and it had stunk up the entire waiting room. The service I've received here is absolutely fantastic, and I get treated like a breath of fresh air, but people aren't treating the service with a lot of respect, so I'm afraid that it'll go away, or that my doctor will burn out and quit and then end up with a bad one.
