About Operation PAR

Operation PAR in Sarasota, Florida, is a substance abuse and mental health services provider offering programs to individuals struggling with dual diagnoses. They have been in business for nearly 50 years and are dedicated to helping motivated people in the community get the treatment they need regardless of their financial status.

The clinic provides customized outpatient mental health programs for anxiety, depression, PTSD and dual diagnosis disorders. They provide uniquely tailored treatment by creating treatment plans specific to you. They understand that mental health conditions and substance use disorders are frequently linked, which is why their programming includes dual diagnosis treatment that treats both issues together.

Operation PAR has extensive mental health services that include therapy and medication management. These programs are staffed by seasoned professionals who are experienced with treating even the most severe emotional concerns. You’ll receive individual and group therapy, helping you connect with others facing the same problems. If you don’t need inpatient care the clinic also provides outpatient services. This lets you receive addiction medication while going about your daily life and still receiving the help you need.

They offer individual, group and family counseling for youth and adults. They also offer female specific services that recognize that there are gender specific aspects to addiction recovery. Operation PAR also personalizes its programs, which is one of the reasons they can help so many people. They work with you where you are at and set about revising the treatment plan as necessary to ensure maximum potential for recovery success.

I first attended the Bradenton clinic have been attending par for 12 years and yes it seems they try to get you to go up in your dose because they are always asking how your feeling are you stable blah blah blah. But they aren't twisting your arm after 12 years the most I went was to 115 during pregnancy and I'm back down to 60 MG by dropping 5 MG a week so I dropped 55 MG pretty fast. But I'm ok I didn't need to be that high I don't think any one does I think they just search for that high they used to get so they go up and up and up. I totally recommend this comic and the Bradenton one nurse's extremely friendly front counter girls amazing! They saved my life

I've just read a number of other reviews, & my overall feeling regarding the ppl who felt they were/are not being helped seem to have unreasonable, unrealistic expectations. Yes, they do random drug screening. They aren't observed, unless u give them reason to be suspicious. & if u actually read the Patient Handbook before starting u'd understand that UA's are simply part of the program. Yes, in the very beginning, u can only move up 10 mgs. @ a time, & only once a week until u get to 160 mg's, then u need to see the Doc. The dosing nurses are overworked, understaffed, & underpaid. They come to work in the morning's to help US. TBH the reviews ive read are simply ppl who aren't using the program the way it's intended to be. Therefore, they have no business going in the first place. If ur at the point in ur life where u know ur DONE, then this program can change ur life. I've got almost 4 years, without even one relapse. It's almost unbelievable to me that I've got this much time under my belt, when I haven't had more than a little over a year, (& that was locked up), sober in my entire adult life. My point is if u want better, & are truly ready for that change, this program can save lives. I can honestly say it saved mine. It was the only thing, (& I've tried it all, Suboxone, Subutex, Naloxone, Zubsolve...) that was GENUINELY able to open my eyes to the possibility of a better life. U just have to want it, for urself. Hang in there. If I can do it, ANYONE can! Good Luck!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Recreational therapy helps you recover from addiction by giving you structured activities that promote your physical health and mental well being. These activities could range from sports and fitness to creative arts and provide a constructive outlet for your emotions and stress.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

I have recieved counseling services from here for four years now. I have experienced 4 different doctors in my time as a patient at the Sarasota location, as well as 4 different counselors. I have also been to 4 different PAR locations in Florida. Operation PAR Sarasota has without a doubt made the most significant positive changes in the past year. What once was a revolving door of employees with a high turnover rate, the past year has turned into their most stable all-star employee roster. They have always had a handful of wonderful long-term employees (Courtney, Karen and Jamie), but there was a very apparent issue with keeping dedicated nursing and counselor staff. The past year Operation PAR has made the greatest decision I ve witnessed in bringing a counselor like Travis on to their team. In the past I ve worked with counselors who did the bare minimum of their job and called it a day. A counselor who goes out of their way to actually care about your treatment plan makes all the difference in your sobriety. I am grateful each day that I was placed with a counselor who goes above and beyond to support his patients and help them achieve long-term sobriety. Having Travis as a counselor has helped me achieve sobriety goals I did not think were possible. I am incredibly grateful that he is a part of PAR Sarasota. Secondly, ever since PAR brought David and Michael onto nursing, the environment has done a complete 180. What once consisted of easily replaceable nurses, has now been replaced with wonderful and caring employees who have consistently made Operation PAR a better place. You can see it in the content environment of the other employees working alongside them, as well as the patients who interact with them each day. They do their job and they do it with a smile on their face. And that makes all the difference for people who are trying to turn their lives around. I am grateful for the significant changes PAR Sarasota has made the past year as it is extremely apparent to those who have received long-term care from here. Oh and Mercedes is always running the front desk with a smile

They are absolutely scary horrible!!! they do not CARE. THEY JUDGE THE CLIENTS INSTEAD OF Supporting them in need. I mean isn't that the whole point of an out patient facility? - since pandemic! ( oh the great pandemic) literally tore apart ppl. & then some. Loss.of lives. Depression. Etc. The ones whom are blessed to not have been affected by it meaning contracting disease. ( I realize we ALL have been affected one way or other) Some a lot worse. Such as life. So far a facility to allow a nurse to take matters in hers own. Hands & send over info to my PHYCE. Dr. & messed up my whole regimen. One that took yrs to get right & was finally on a great path of stability& working towards future daily& living in moment. One moment @a time. I was doing well. Not one looks back to that. BC of 1 solitary day An individual decided to "add" on notes to my Dr. After I signed release form. Shady. And till this day idk what made her think it was ok to do such a horrible thing to a mental/ addict??? (Power perhaps?) I had said. If your. So intended on. Playing god. You will mess what is working very well for me. I do not blame others however; this person gina? ( not longer employed there) DOESNT change the fact she did exactly what I knew WOULD happen. My whole life turned upside down. & struggled to this day ( 2yrs later) for Stability. With a GOOD trusting health care provider

Best clinic I've been to since I started going when it comes to efficiently and quickly dosing people and getting them on their way. Plus the staff and nurses that I've interacted with are awesome in every way you can think. They're all very respectful and courteous even though I've seen clients be the complete opposite. And yet the staff still treat these rude, nasty attitude people respectfully and kindly. Hats off to the staff thank you for your effort and all you do for us that come there.

I have been coming to par for 3 years now. I absolutely love this clinic! My intake clinic is Sarasota but my everyday location is their satellite Port Charlotte office. I have had a wonderful experience with them. I have been on methadone for about 8 years if not a little longer. I started in Delaware. My clinic there was unique....the clients were the worst people I've ever had to be around! I understand that when you just start coming, you are sick and cranky, scared and angry! However feel that a couple months into treatment that you should be feeling 100 % better!! NOT THERE THEY WERE EVIL AND I WAS SCARED THAT IF I GOT TOO CLOSE I MIGHT GET SWALLOWED WHOLE However the staff for the most part were good people. Back to PAR... I reccomend them to EVERYONE AND ANYONE! I just like to take the opportunity to remind people that our nurses are here to help us! They don't have to choose to work here but they do! They believe in helping us! Soooo i wish that people would treat them so much better ! They aren't trying to bind you up or get you into trouble, they don't get off on making you cry!!! They are simply making sure we are safe cuz lets be honest, addicts will lie to get more drugs or lie to not get caught using or we lie just cuz that's what we do!!! Their job is to ask questions and make sure they keep us safe!!! Please be kind!!

I was a client at the Sarasota clinic for several years before I moved to South Dakota. As a side note, always check to make sure that you will have good access to a clinic if you move- So.Dak. has one clinic in the state, and several states have NO CLINICS. Florida has them everywhere, and PAR Sarasota is the very best. I have guess dosed at 8 other Florida clinics and none compare to the overall excellence of PAR. I am moving back to Sarasota soon and look forward to transferring back to PAR.
