About Open Homes Fellowship

Open Homes Fellowship is an addiction treatment center that is located in Orlando, Florida. They are a men-only clinic and focus on helping men who are suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. I should mention that this is a Christ-centered program, which may be a plus or a negative for certain people reading this.

Either way, their residential program offers a lot in terms of treatment and benefits on their 2.5-acre plot of land. You’ll be required to make a few commitments, though, which include committing to one to three months of treatment, and possibly more if it’s required. Also, you’ll have to attend two classes of therapy per week and attend church on Sundays.

One of their classes includes group counseling. This type of counseling is great because it involves others who are also struggling with addiction. You can all work together and learn through the stories you tell, allowing you to identify triggers and learn coping skills that will make your road to sobriety much easier.

After all, this isn’t a road you should travel on alone regardless. Their multiple acres of land offer open areas for recreational activities and family fellowship. As you get closer to God and work through their program, you’ll in turn get closer to a happy and sober life.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

My name is Jeremy and I don't personally have experience being in this program just yet so I know it seems odd that I'm leaving any good review. But I've been referred to this program by probably five past graduates and only heard good things. I've heard that Pastor Charles is amazing, Michael Jordan is awesome and all the other mentors in this program at their respective stages will go out of their way and above and beyond to make sure that you keep your priorities in order and that you are in it for the right reasons. I've also heard that they do not mince words and are not afraid to tell it like it is, which is the best thing that you can have as a recovering addict is somebody that will be brutally honest with you and tell you the things that most of your loved ones don't want to say for fear of hurting you or pushing you away further. I'm currently trying to get into the program I just left my first message on their answering machine today with high hopes that they'll get back to me as soon as possible. But to anyone who is lost and hopeless, ashamed, full of self-hatred and guilt, this is the best place to find your relationship with the Lord and learn to love yourself again, so that you can truly love others and find all of the joy that is around us all the time. we are just too consumed with the addiction to realize or appreciate them. Give this place a chance and you won't regret it. If you're truly ready to be done, than this is exactly the type of thing that we need. and finding your relationship with the Lord is one of the biggest positive factors in our recovery.

I'm not good with words but i'm shootin from the heart. If you are in a spot in your life wher you are tired, empty, hopeless. I can think of no better place to go to find what your missing in your life. This place is real and will install positive mechanisms in your life. This does'nt mean you'll be a perfect or even near perfect being but if you give Open Homes a real chance you will understand. My name is Tim and I graduated from Open Homes approx- 6 yrs. ago. My life has not been on the best road possible since then but I 100% believe that if not for Pastor Mike as an inspiration to me and staff. I would either be doing alot of prison time or worse Death. I hope you read this 3 or 4 times and take it for real, BECAUSE IT IS. Thankyou!!
