Recently, my mom needed to be admitted for observation and IV antibiotics. The process was so smooth! The staff (admitting staff, security, lab techs, nurses, physicians, ect.) was so kind and helpful, and most importantly, they were prompt! We only had to wait for lab results, which was also very quick. Mom was treated as if she was top priority--which made me feel at ease. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the renovation of the inpatient rooms! The room was super clean and updated...Although the care a patient receives has nothing to do with the aesthetics of the building, I believe that being in a hospital where staff takes pride in that facilities appearance/cleanliness can only have a positive impact on the patient's mental health! After all, who wants to stay in a hospital with outdated equipment and/or rooms?!I wish no one ever had to be admitted to a hospital--BUT--If/when the need arises, I would highly recommend the Okmulgee Creek Nation Medical Center!

I didn t even want to leave 1 star! If I could rate a negative 5 star I would. Horrible customer service! Whoever works the ER phone at night is very rude and needs some training or be replaced. I just called to ask if they gave tetanus shots, she signed heavily and responded very rudely IT S UP TO THE ER DOCTOR IF HE WANTS TO OR NOT! I immediately hung up, because if that s the type of attitude customer service has then I can only imagine how the actual service would be. Y all are here to serve, if you re not in the mood to do that then stay home!

Pathetic excuse of an ER. Wont listen to the patient, ignores symptoms and send patients away. Also will wait to transfer you until you are near dead or dying.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body after you've become physically dependent is through a medically assisted detox. Usually performed in an inpatient setting, a team of licensed medical professionals are tasked with monitoring your health and helping to minimize the risks and physical discomfort caused by withdrawal symptoms. Medically assisted detox is often the first step in the recovery process. After your body is safely free of substances, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program to continue your recovery.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment in which you can confront and address the emotional and physical impacts of traumatic events. Your therapist helps you understand your emotional and physical responses and develop healthier coping skills, which lowers your anxiety level and provides you with greater self confidence.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

My mom has been in pain since before she came to get checked out. Dr. Windford didn t even touch her to examine her leg. Gave her a pain shot and sent her home. Then had the nerve to write on my mom s chart to her doctor that she only wanted to come in for an mri. This place is a joke now. My mom s still in pain as we speak and this has been over a week.

Do NOT believe the few bad reviews. Those few folks were having a really bad day, bless their hearts. Now, a family member complained of stomach pain. We took him there. Everyone was amazing. Yes the hospital is old, but their knowledge, technology, professionalism and true Oklahoma-style caring is above and beyond great! Do not hesitate to use our great hospital. P.S. They actually saved my brother from a nearly ruptured appendix. Thanks everyone and bless you.

8 months pregnant and go in for leaking of fluid and very bad pain. The lady checking people in was very rude and said "we don't have a OB here so idk what u expect us to do" I said I expect u to check me in because I was told to come to a hospital if it started happening due to being high risk. Will never go back again even if I am dying.

These were the rudest people in the ER. My grandson was sent here by Dr. Garrett to have some labs and x-rays because he just got out of ICU in Tulsa just right before Christmas and has been experiencing exhaustion. He had an serious infection in the tip of the bone in the right great toe and also has MRSA in the toe. The doctor in the ER Told my daughter he didn't care if my 16 year old grandsons WBC's was 25000.. I'm sorry I was a RN for 23 years and I do believe you better be worried about a 25000 WBC. Dr. Garrett told my daughter to bring him to this hospital to be checked out afraid his infection could be worse. This ER doctor needs his license revoked. He's one that would lie to the parents of children and to other patients. because he doesn't care and if he doesn't he needs another profession. From the git go we entered the ER the clerks at the desk were rude stated the ER couldn't do any test or anything for and basically told us to go home even though the Doctor wanted him checked out

Mother is staying in the hospital. As soon as I got in the room they brought her dinner and the nurse asked me if I would like anything to eat. Then she came back and asked me if I wanted anything to drink. From what my mother has told me they are awesome nurses and staff.

Don't go here unless you wanna die. It does not matter how busy they are they sit back at the desk and talk and don't help patients. A nurse says oh I was suppose to do that 20 minutes ago but look those people can't do nothing without me hahaha. I will not let my insurance pay these people a cent ever again. I hope they shut this hospital down.
