I completed the one year program and left homeless and broken. I fought to maintain my personal spiritual beliefs and to avoid fruit tests in which staff prod and push mentally damaged individuals to a breaking point. I had a back injury that they neglected to treat. This is clearly a money grabbing scam like most faith based rehabs which are popping up everywhere with limited oversight. Once admitted expect your rights to be violated. Signing a contract out of desperation while mentally unstable is not a reasonable legal defense yet they consistently remind clients that they signed up for it.

Thank you for finally giving me my real father. Greg Enold was such an amazing man. I am forever grateful for you giving him the tools to better himself and find god. Even though his life was cut short you will never understand how grateful and thankful I am for none of you ever giving up on him.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Good program, but it leaves you broke. Staff has the tendency to belittle clients whenever they want to. But "the ultimate goal of the program is introducing their clients to Jesus".

For many years, decades in fact, I've heard alot about Teen Challenge. I've heard how wonderful and successful they are with people both young and old who are struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction, where traditional treatment centers and 12 step programs failed these people Teen Challenge successfully turned their lives around with this totally and complete Faith Based approach. Clients/Residents are encouraged to completely stay away from all secular activities and music and totally focus on the Jesus, the Bible, Church, Faith, Prayer and everything else associated with dedication to a Christian way of life. I've spoken to several people in the past who have successfully completed the Teen Challenge Program and they all said that their lives were completely turned around leaving alcohol, drugs, homelessness and crime behind them and now today, still devoted to Christianity are living productive and fulfilling lives.

Upon coming to this program I was very broken and unsure if I wanted to continue my journey of life in this broken world. After a six month sentence in Cuyahoga County Jail my Mother and Father had suggested a program called Teen Challenge which ended up being located in Youngstown, Ohio. Now I was very skeptical but at this point i was out of hope and I was willing to try anything out of being desperate. I entered the program on August 8th 2018 which jump started a new addition to the program which was 30 days long to start to transition into their legacy program. So my new journey of life started with H.O.P.E Addiction Counseling where I learned to not judge others or myself. I started to open up in the groups, which was easy to do with their caring and compassionate counselors and staff members who always try to help with any issues we may have as quick and courteously as possible. I was so impressed with my progress i decided to stay for the year long program. God as started a good work in me and it is my responsibility as his child to allow him to complete it. This journey has not been a cake walk but the tribulations allow for me to grow which I am gracious for. I am grateful for all the staff and there help so far from H.O.P.E Counseling Addiction Services Brett Green, Stephanie Leonard and CDCA Counselors Along with the all the Teen Challenge Staff especially my mentor Dominic Pulice , my case manager Brian Williams, Gregory Squibbs, Spencer Kilgore, Phil Bechtel, and the one who made all this possible God through Pastor Robert Pavlich II . Thank you for this opportunity at life again and can not wait to see what other amazing things God has in store for me and my future. Thank you and God Bless everyone. AMEN

I've battled opiate addiction for the better part of the last 8 years after a shoulder injury. After going to 8 different 12-Step rehabs, I still found myself struggling. It wasn't until I came to Teen Challenge that I was able to truly experience a change. I give all the credit to the main thing I learned here, and that is a personal relationship with Christ. I grew up in the church but never had the ears to hear and didn't even know there was a personal relationship to be had. God used ATCOV, their staff, and resources as a vessel to finally reach me. I remember when I came here I had the intentions to only stay for the 30 day program, I actually waited two weeks for them to start the new 30 day program before I came last August because I couldn't wrap my head around staying for a year. If it wasn't for the 30 day orientation program, I would never have came to ATCOV in the first place. I'm glad I decided to stay and complete the 12 month Legacy program because it has been a life changing experience. For the next chapter of my life I now have the opportunity to continue my experience and work here in their Emerging Leadership Program to pay it forward to others.

I just recently graduated the 30 day program here and I can honestly say it has Jesus works miracles in that place. Having been a graduate out of Arizona several years ago, I already had a relationship with the Lord but fell back into sin and drugs. While at the Youngstown center I experienced great breakthrough through the Holy Spirit and a brotherhood of believers United in Christ. I won't lie and say it was because it was tough. That's what I needed though. They have a 30 day clinical program or you can do the year program and even stay on as an intern and eventually be a paid staff member. If you have been battling addiction for awhile I highly suggest doing a year there. You will be amazed at what God can and will restore in you and in your families lives. Praise be to Jesus. You are our hope and salvation. Amen
