The reason I m giving this a 1 star review is for the fact that I ve spent approximately 2 years at this place and my main issue is when I came to cadi because staff named Ben at the Missouri house would always put me down by talking to me like I m a 4 year old when I was 18 not only that Randy one of the staff who had been there for multiple years would always try and force me to do stuff I didn t wanna do like I tried to stay outside because I wasn t gonna eat dinner he would just yell at me and the staff would constantly contradicting themselves by saying I can t swear even tho I m an adult but then would proceed to swear and I did like the program at first I had amazing staff in residential Fred Zach Jen all of them are amazing so I m sad I m forced to even have to put this here residential I would recommend but the cadi program should be avoided at all costs

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs typically provide a full continuum of care both for clients in early recovery and for those who are well advanced in their recovery journey. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Many outpatient facilities offer evening, night, and weekend services, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training, to accommodate clients' work and family schedules.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) can provide supportive and structured care to those who don't require 24/7 supervision. It can be used as a "step-down" option after you're released from the hospital or a residential program. PHP treatment integrates evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The duration of a partial hospital program is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals but averages 90 days.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Withdrawal from alcohol and drugs can be uncomfortable - even dangerous - without the proper medical supervision. The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is with a medically supervised detox where a team of on-site medical professionals can monitor your health and progress 24/7, then administer medications (like Suboxone or Vivitrol) if necessary to mitigate symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

there should be a 0 star option cause the pain and suffering i went through there was terrible and they took no responsibility for them selfs and blame everything on the kids there i had to walk over a hour in the dark multiple times a week just to get to a 6 minute drive place that i work and i seen homeless people drugs and wild animals everytime and had to walk in the rain snow and it even says they provide transportation the staff said im grown enough to deal with it. i have permanent scars there from multiple 300+ lbs staff that take there anger out at kids. when i was on the huskies me and another kids punishment was to be in our rooms for a week straight and the works there said if we leave we get dropped on our heads exact words definitely the worse place i been too DONT SEND ANYONE HERE TRUST ME THEY WILL LEAVE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON like me

My name is Tyler Ireland and I was here from December 2011 - April 2013 as a member of the Bear team. It was the worst experience of my life.A lot of it had to do with factors that were simply out of the staff's control. As a preteen with high functioning autism, I was an extremely picky eater back then; and I consistently had trouble eating food there. The food quality there was similar to a school cafeteria. Not great, but edible. Still, I would go hungry and a couple times I threw up in the cafeteria for everyone to see.I was initially brought in due to anger management issues stemming from Bi-Polar disorder, which I hadn't been diagnosed with at the time since I was only 12 years old. The whole staff tried their best to "fix" me, so to speak. They saw that I was a picky eater, so they tried to use positive reinforcement and negative punishment to encourage me to try new foods. That plan backfired in the worst way possible. Throughout the duration of my stay, I showed no signs of progress and my physical and mental health started to deteriorate. I ended up going hungry most days because I couldn't get myself to finish my meals no matter how hard I tried. This made it extraordinarily difficult for me to do even the simplest of tasks such as finishing my homework or doing daily chores. Let alone managing my anger, which is why I was there in the first place. The lack of progress I made frustrated my case manager Ashley Plourde, to the point where she eventually gave up and transferred my case to someone else. For added context, Ashley was one of the most experienced staff members on the Bear team behind Matt Zemler. So if she was unable to help me, then no one else would've been able to either at that point.I'm sure Northwoods was probably manageable for most kids and teens there. A lot of them only had the anger issues to worry about. Once they swallowed their pride and did as they were told, the pathway for them to leave was wide open. My situation was a bit different because I understood what I needed to do to leave, but I couldn't down food no matter how hard I tried.Northwoods was like Sunnyside Daycare from Toy Story 3. On the outside, it looks like a place where kids get to enjoy fun activities and everything is kumbaya. When in reality, I was stuck in what felt like a jail-like environment with no signs of ever being able to leave and see my family again.Fortunately, my family eventually realized that I wasn't getting better there, and fought against the county and the institution itself to get me out. In retrospect, residential treatment at Northwoods was so miserable that they succeeded in having me never want to be within a 25 mile radius of Duluth ever again.

I went here when I was 17 for allegedly being a troubled teen and spent that last 2yrs to come out with more trauma then I came in with one reason being the staff member Ben walked into my room one night and touched me inappropriately and groomed my hair while proceeding to smell it and then whispered in my ear and said shh be quiet before proceeding to touch my private parts, this place is ran by predators and will ruin your kids mental health to the verge of suicide,STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

I was there for about 2 years, in the days before anyone knew what PTSD,ADHD were. Was medicated far too much, in their defense I was a very angry teen that prior to enrollment was physically abused by my stepfather and once my mother divorced him I pretty much went wild.

When your child comes out worse than they went in, there is a problem. Thanks to Jamie Ross and a couple other staff members, my child came out with more trauma. Jamie doesn t understand how HIPPA laws work and has no business working with troubled children.

I was here for a year exactly in day treatment. Made me suicidal. Staff unaware and don t respect you. I got told my eating disorder I had since 6th grade was because I smoke. Which I have only for about a year. I was friends with a girl and dating this guy and they treated me bad and I m sure the staff could tell they talked bad behind my back but never warned me. I got told I was making no progress by Jessie the therapist and was having a panic attack for about 3 hours and the staff wouldn t let my friends come talk to me, they also wouldn t let me go somewhere private so I was sitting there wishing I was dead and sobbing and couldn t breathe in front of all the residential kids, little learners and other day treatment. The little learners asked me if I was ok. Yet the staff never checked on me. Also they make the kids clean so they have more money to do fun stuff as if our parents and insurance don t already pay so much money to attend and we would go on the rate trip. So I don t see how that adds up. If they just want us to clean then say that. And Mike tried to force me to take my meds which were supposed to be TAKE AS NEEDED off of the floor. And days I didn t want to take it because it made me more tired and sometimes I was already super tired. There is so much more. But this place needs to be shut down. F you all at this place. Do not love Olivia :)
