About Holy Redeemer Hospital

Holy Redeemer Hospital is a 239-bed facility that provides many medical services to Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania residents. They offer emergency services as well as inpatient and outpatient care including behavioral health.

Their outpatient program is offered through Philmont Guidance Center. They are staffed with marriage and family therapists, licensed counselors, social workers, psychiatrists and psychologists to work together to get you the care and healing you’re in need of. You’ll get a custom treatment plan that might include age-specific counseling groups and various types of individual or family therapies.

Inpatient care for mental health concerns include treatment for PTSD, substance abuse, anxiety including panic attacks, domestic violence, impact of disability or medical illness and many other concerns.

If you’re not sure if you qualify or need treatment, you can speak to a behavioral health specialist. They will listen with compassion and discuss the treatment options available.

I like that this hospital has an app to give loved ones information about how the hospital care is going. This app is called EASE and will send updates to any mobile device you choose.

Holy Redeemer Hospital is part of Redeemer Health. This is a Catholic health system that focuses on providing care, comfort and healing following the example of Jesus Christ. They offer pastoral care as part of their services.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients engaged in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) live and work in their home community while receiving frequent, high-level care. These programs offer personalized care designed to evolve with the clients' changing needs. Many intensive outpatient rehabs require a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week, but high-risk clients and those in early recovery may receive up to 20 hours of care weekly. IOP services generally include addiction counseling, recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as massage.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

Treatments

Alcoholism is a syndrome of dependent alcohol use. Also called alcohol use disorder (AUD), the symptoms include craving alcohol, not being able to stop drinking, and feeling anxious or irritable when not drinking. For many people, alcohol rehab in Pennsylvania is a beneficial treatment. Programs offer many levels of care, including medical and behavioral therapies.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Pennsylvania's specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Providing various levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization, dual-diagnosis experts use evidence-based therapies, recovery support groups, and education to treat both disorders, promote mental health, and improve your quality of life.

In Pennsylvania, dual-diagnosis rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for individuals facing both mental health and substance abuse challenges. These facilities offer personalized treatment plans, integrating evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and experiential therapy. Other recovery services, like 12-Step meetings, skills training, educational groups, and an aftercare plan will enhance your odds of long-term recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Pennsylvania is an evidence based technique that involves group therapy, individual therapy, and phone coaching. Group sessions focus on learning behavioral skills. Individual therapy gives you the opportunity to apply what you're learning to your personal situations. Phone coaching allows you to call your therapist during the week for help with challenging situations.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing in Pennsylvania gives you the opportunity to share your perspective and explore your ideas and motivation for change. Your therapist will walk you through the four steps of engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning to empower you to make any desired changes in your life.

It is important to process the impact that traumatic experiences have had on your life. During trauma therapy, you and an experienced therapist confront these experiences and the emotional impact it is had. This helps to reduce your symptoms of stress and anxiety and improve your overall mental health and well being.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

My visit tonight was excellent. I was sent here after being in urgent care already for over an hour. The receptionist despite being tired and overwhelmed in a packed ER this evening was super pleasant towards me from the beginning! Even though I watched her get huge attitudes from people over the wait times like it was personally her fault. The triage nurse was amazing! She looked at my arm and fast tracked me, was very pleasant and personable. I was only about another 45 mins after that so about 3 hours total and left with the prescriptioni needed and a referral to get my issue taken care of. I was prepared to wait longer, but thank you to the staff tonight. Also shout out to the free valet guys, it was bitter cold tonight and the gentlemen behind the podium made my life so much easier trying to find parking in a packed lot

My experience with the labor and delivery was good. The nurses and doctors was amazing at the labor and delivery.I had to have my twins early at 33 weeks, where they end up having to stay in NICU for 13 days and came home not only with a diaper rash, it look like an open wound for both off my babies. I am very disappointed with the hospital. I wouldn't had post the picture but this really bad!!!! I haven't been able to sleep since they got home from yesterday cause they're in pain.

I have been coming to Holy Redeemer for over 30 years- Their Billing Department is Heartless, Unhelpful, Unempathetic, and Emotionless! I had my first Mammogram this past July - had to go for a 2nd time because of density- Then told they were "concerned" about a possible mass in my left breast- I have checked my own breasts always and never felt anything wrong- 3 nurses or whatever came to me with the suggestions of getting a biopsy bc it was my first mammo. and to be on the safe side- blah blah blah- went had the biopsy benign results the next day- Got 3 bills from them - $188- $290 and then $1611 - the $1611 was for the 30 second microscope reading for them to know it was benign- I have 3 kids- one in college 2 in private school - I am in car sales and a commission employee- I don't have medicaid I pay for insurance through my employer- I tried to get the bill forgiven- I didn't even want the service performed but they came with the bs- Now NOW I have a $2,000 dollar bill and then- As though the hospital doesn't make enough money profiting off of patient's fears of being ill - they TELL YOU how much and WHEN you need to pay - I made a few payments on the one bill- But the $1611 BILL they wanted bank statements, pay stubs, bills- etc- TO forgive the bill or help with payment- for a HOSPITAL- house of sick people in trauma and labor- That is Sad - You people are Greedy and I hope and pray to God you all Pay for your disregard to the people that look to you for help in their time of need. I will NEVER visit another HOLY REDEEMER ANYTHING - Sent me to collections for $153.00 bill- shame on you- Make sure you make Holy Redeemer your top priority when paying your bills- I'm sure your mortgage holder, landlord, credit cards, car notes will all patiently wait while you pay the HOSPITAL!

I had my son there 2 days ago and I found that the support in labor and delivery was beautifully executed by the 2 nurses that I had along with my Dr. Dr.Hemedi. I was never made so comfortable in my other three labor experiences. The way I was cheered on to deliver my son was wonderful, omg I even laughed while giving birth, and at the end the way I was supported while going to recovery was amazing. Recovery was also a nice experience, I'm happy I had my last child there. I didn't really care for the food but the staff LOVELY!!!

Thank you to the Nurse Practitioner who works in the emergency department you are truly an intelligent and caring angel!Three years ago, after six ER visits to different hospitals, you were the first person to truly believe in the severity of my pain. Because of your thorough assessment and compassionate care, I was finally diagnosed and underwent ACDF surgery shortly after, which relieved me of the debilitating pain. When I first met you, I was overwhelmed and barely functioning from the pain, but I ll never forget how attentively and thoroughly you cared for me. Yesterday, I returned to the ER with distressing symptoms that others have dismissed as anxiety, even though I know something deeper is wrong. Once again, you cared for me with the same compassion and dedication, and I could see how much you truly wanted to help me.Everyone who has the privilege of being cared for by you is incredibly lucky. I will appreciate you for the rest of my life. Thank you so much!
