They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They taught him how to survive and thrive in the woods of North Carolina. They taught him how to express his feelings and needs in a way that is respectful to everyone around him. They helped him learn about himself and brought his self-talk over to the positive side of things. They taught him that "he can do hard things". My family is so grateful to this group of people who run this program. We dropped off an angry, selfish, going-nowhere good kiddo and after a lot of work, missteps, repetition, and encouragement, my son had a fabulous growth experience at TRAILS that will serve him the rest of his life. But there are a few problems that should definitely be discussedWe were all given enormous amounts of food. Even the bigger taller dudes were in shock with how much we were suspected to eat. Nobody, not even the kids who didn't have any problems with eating disorders weren't allowed to exercise. It was depressing not being able to move my body. Also the therapist Katy or Kathy or whatever was the WORST. She made an entire group of kids cry.

But there are a few problems that should definitely be discussedWe were all given enormous amounts of food. Even the bigger taller dudes were in shock with how much we were suspected to eat. Nobody, not even the kids who didn't have any problems with eating disorders weren't allowed to exercise. It was depressing not being able to move my body. Also the therapist Katy or Kathy or whatever was the WORST. She made an entire group of kids cry.
