I have recently brought another friend to Bethel in hopes that God will do for him what he did for my other friend, who stayed 9 months voluntarily. With no place to go, his mother who was going blind had sold her home and was moving into assisted living, saw such a change in her son that she forfeited her deposit, bought another house, and asked him to come home. He is now taking care of his “legally blind” mom and was recently asked DWI charges in the first 6 months I knew him. Was a drug dealer for years and served years in prison.

As a student in 2008 then volunteer Counseling Coordinator for a season in 2009, l had the opportunity to experience first hand the powerful expression of God s faithful work in the lives of those (like me) who were dealing with an addiction. In 2017 l came back to Bethel Colony of Mercy for a year as a volunteer Strategic Advisor focused on building our ministry brand in Caldwell County, forging key alliances and assessing new, innovative paths to more robustly resource this 76-year-old transformation ministry. In 2023 God led me back as a volunteer to assist the executive director Pastor Paul Pruitt and board of directors as the ministry set its course on growth across both the men s & women s growing campuses. The desperate need for Bethel s innovative, 65-day Biblically driven, faith-based program is without question. More than 12 people die daily in North Carolina (alone) from opioid overdoses. America is in the dark abyss of substance abuse agony and the only durable solution is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, while following a path of daily discipleship. With a youngest daughter who has had addiction impacts in her own life, l cannot help but have new hope kindled whenever observing the lives of women like her so radically changing on the beautiful 148 acre women s campus in Lenoir, NC. There is hope, healing and health here at Bethel Colony of Mercy. My counselor is wonderful. She honestly cares about me. Takes time to listen, she's understanding, gives advice and is very personable. The nurses are all so nice and they care about you too. The ladies that check you in, I love them. So very nice. Every person in the building is amazing. If you want help, they're there and will give you 100% of their time. I am so glad I decided to get my life together. The most, I'm glad I went there, to a place that really cares! Going there is the best decision I've ever made. So thankful for every single person there!!!Edit... one reason I stopped going is because they (nurses) are not fair to all patients. 2 test exactly the same and 1 gets weekly take homes and the other doesn't. It was 1 nurse that was the 1 that did it over and over. I love those people and they really did save me, but fairness in take home's isn't consistent.

I have been involved with focus for going on 2 years now. I have had nothing but a positive experience from the beginning. The staff have always been super nice and helpful. We started out with the nurse practitioner Sonya and she was amazing. Understandably, she felt my child had far more issues than she could help with (I adopted a child with MANY mental issues so I understood completely). She referred us to Dr. Igbul who was also amazing. At the time for one of her appointments, he was out of town and we got scheduled with Dr. Fairchild. She is absolutely nothing short of amazing. She has helped so much and has answered questions I have had for years that nobody has been able to answer in 10 years. I will stick with Dr. Fairchild forever. I see a lot of negative reviews but like I said, in the 2 years I have been affiliated with them, they have been amazing!
