I am so thankful for Appalachian Community Services. I've been a patient with the.for several years now and not once have they turned me away. Not once have they not helped me. Be it in their office or calling the crisis number they provide. I can understand how mental health facilities get a "bad wrap". I've been a patient at one of those places before, until I switched to ACS. Thank you for doing all you guys do!

I sent my 16 yr. old son to TRAILS in September 2023 and he graduated 3 months later. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They taught him how to survive and thrive in the woods of North Carolina. They taught him how to express his feelings and needs in a way that is respectful to everyone around him. They helped him learn about himself and brought his self-talk over to the positive side of things. They taught him that "he can do hard things". My family is so grateful to this group of people who run this program. We dropped off an angry, selfish, going-nowhere good kiddo and after a lot of work, missteps, repetition, and encouragement, my son had a fabulous growth experience at TRAILS that will serve him the rest of his life. Parents, do not hesitate to go with this program.
