Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs are designed principally for clients who require intensive supervision and support, including clients who have just completed detox, clients in early recovery, and clients at an elevated risk of relapse. Inpatient treatment helps clients stabilize following detox and prepares them to step-down into outpatient and/or community-based care. Clients reside at the facility for the duration of their program and engage in extensive addiction counseling and education. Many programs also offer evidence-based complementary therapies.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

It is clear that they want to help but what is also clear is that they have to many patients for the resources they count on. That makes the treatment of the patients sloppy and non effective.

Been there when I was 16, I'm currently 22, the staff don't really treat the residents with care or respect, kids would attempt to escape on the daily, got so bad one day a guy dented one of the thick metal doors and fractured the thick glass window on it. It's not a safe environment primarily in the yellow unit, which was the all boys around 15-17 I believe, almost everyday there was a fight either inside the living quarters, classroom, hallway, gym, or outside. The staff doesn't always try to de-escalate the issue, sometimes they'd primarily wait till hands are thrown to restrain them, the only punishment that the kids get is shoes taken and maybe an item. It felt more like a juvenile detention center at times, it's highly understaffed. In short, a hell hole for both staff and residents as some staff would never return due to the stress of the job.

Their phone staff is very rude and hangs up in your face when they don't like to answer your questions, a woman named Emily was the worse I've experienced. if they act like that over the phone, how do they treat the youth there?

This is a really unprofessional and unsanitary environment to have your children in. Human Resources doesn t even respond or care about people, wouldn t even so much as respond to my calls or emails. Worked here for two days long enough to see these kids are neglected and are kept in a disgusting environment like a dog pound. Doors had feces smeared on them, staff were ignoring kids and on their phones. I would never allow my child to be sent there.

Our daughter was treated very well at Norris Academy. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and caring. Our daughter grew very close to a lot people there. Her treatment was very effective in helping her stabilize and learn new skills. We ll always be grateful for Norris!

This place is awful!!! Just read the reviews And know that most of the abuse happens to a group of people that cannot complain. Employees direct their abuse at non verbal children sbo cannot defend themselves nor tell anyone of the abuse. There is a special place in hell for y'all!

I was there twice whenever I was younger. I wouldn't recommend sending anyone there. I don't know about the new management because it's been years since I was there.

2023 EDIT SAYS NEW MANAGEMENT BUT DIFFERENT BOOK SAME STORY!!!! Drive by yourself, looks like a prison and NO ONE is ever outside the building. Can personally say that you need to stay as far away from this place as possible. Higher ups, maybe just maybe think about how a non-verbal can file a complaint. For employees, you do not need to use camera angles to cause harm to children. You are there to help them, not to see how long you can keep a chokehold on a child. For anyone thinking of putting your family here. Conditions are horrible, children are abused on the daily, mental and physical abuse. I know a whole lot about this place, just google kingston Academy if you wanna know more about these type places.

In my opinion, this place is a joke. Our boy was attacked often, even got a broken arm in his short stay, run, don't walk from this place!!

I would not recommend this company at all. Management is sleeping with other employees and those employees get the better pay. The kids are there to get therapy but they do not get no help just being assualted by other kids or even staff. Staff turnover is bad and some would actually walk out on day one before their lunch break. There is no consequences with the kids with their actions so they can beat you up but nothing is done just rewarded with passing out snacks and pat on shoulder. Also if you want to maintain your mental health avoid this place once and for all. Management is just there for the check and do not care for the welfare of the kids at the end of the day. The place is constantly short staffed and failing inspections while the director name George can always be found outside feeding the ducks. It s always short staffed with 1 staff being in charge of up to 10-12 kids and the administration refuses to help on the floor in these situations and have no problem leaving you in a dangerous situation. Before you send your kids here, look elsewhere.
