About Nicasa Behavioral Health Services

Nicasa is an addiction recovery center in Round Lake, Illinois. They work not just with adults but also families to help people overcome drug and alcohol addiction.

This rehab can help you through nearly any stage of your recovery. Their core is outpatient addiction counseling. These sessions will help you work through your addiction and develop the skills you need for lasting recovery. But they also have aftercare support so you can continue treatment to maintain your sobriety after your counseling program ends.

Along with counseling and aftercare this rehab has a sober living home. This sober living home or halfway house is called Bridge House. It’s for men and women who are in recovery but don’t yet feel ready to live independently. You’ll live in a shared home that has support and accountability to help you transition to life after rehab.

As helpful as Nicasa can be as an outpatient rehab, it’s so much more than this. It’s a comprehensive community center that wants to build a community of stronger and healthier adults and families. Beyond addiction services they help with other types of counseling as well as prevention services and youth services. They have family advocacy services too to help you navigate social services and get resources your family needs.

I do want to note that a lot of clients have pointed out issues with some administrative and organization aspects of Nicasa. This seems to be particularly the case for the DUI classes at Nicasa, so this is something to consider if you’re in need of DUI classes and license reinstatement.

I used to belive in Nicassa, I got a dui in 2014, fixed everything, and been sober for almost 3 years.Asked for an intake due to an old ticket and revoked license, my own fault.. 600 dollars and they don't take payment plans or help people with low or no income. I won't ever send anyone here for help, all they care about is money. Awful service go to AA, Detox with a dr. don't go here. Also check out the Phoenix app for sobriety help, much more caring people.

I hope anyone that actually needs help does not have to encounter this company. They overdiagnosed me because they clearly needed the money. They continously LIED to my face because they didn't want to tell me in person that a previous coworker messed up.If you need help I don't recommend giving this place your money. You can watch movies on your own honestly that's all I feel we do...ANSWER:So your response is for me to go do exactly the one thing I just wrote a review about getting rejected for... I don't see how that will help since Jennifer was the one that just rejected my review because it wasn't 30 days from my evaluation....This answer was not helpful at all.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Addiction treatment often begins with 24-hour clinical care in Illinois. This supervised setting is the best environment for detox.where medical staff can provide 24/7 supervision and responsive care as your body is cleansed of addictive substances. Doctors may prescribe antagonist and partial agonist drugs to counteract the effects of drugs or alcohol, or they may slowly taper down dosages of substances to end physical dependence on the drug.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Illinois typically involves keeping a diary to track actions and emotions. Your therapist will use this diary to determine what to focus on during each session. In addition to individual sessions, you'll also attend group meetings where you are trained in coping skills.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment so you can address a traumatic experience. Your therapist helps guide you to understand your emotional, mental, and physical responses while developing healthier coping skills. This helps to improve your emotional resilience and ability to function in the community.

During couples therapy in Illinois, you may work on a variety of relationship challenges. Couples therapy can address topics such as finances, children, health, addiction, intimacy, external stressors, and family relationships. You'll develop tools to address these types of challenges in healthy ways.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Family therapy helps to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships that have been affected by addiction. Therapists use guided interventions to help families improve their interactions and address underlying issues that impact their relationships. This helps create a supportive atmosphere for the recovery process.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

From the beginning my paperwork had been lost & mixed up because of my name. I was court ordered to go here & I ve missed my deadline for my case because no one answers the phones. In a day I ve called at-least 10 times to get prompts & voicemails. Even if you leave a message no one returns it. I ve had classes canceled on me for no reason even after paying everything in full. Now I m coming up on my last session of classes & they re trying to charge me a second time for them as if I didn t pay in full already. The staff genuinely doesn t care. I had to travel a hour to the Waukegan location and they wouldn t even let me use the restroom because they thought I needed to do a drop. I told them I didn t need to do one & the lady at the front desk said she would check and never did. so I sat for 10 minutes holding it until I went back and she said I could go. She never even checked.

I believe Nicasa is the most fraudulent company ever and the reason no one challenges them or threatens to sue because they know the patients need nicasa to stay out of jail so they can make up their own fees and charge what they want. Literally!!

Mind blowing. This is a clear entity of revenue for the state of Illinois with a false pretense of actually helping people. Classes have been paid in full for over a week for a minimal risk 10 hour course and we can't seem to get the schedule even though we have paid in full up front. Funny how citizens are held accountable but non for profits "helping" and courthouses are not. This place should be SHUT DOWN.

Although the staff was polite, I d say the overall structure of nicasa is off putting. A lot of things seemed to be subtly designed to set you up for failure. From appointment availabilities, to billing and document request- Everything was terribly confusing and inconvenient My final opinion is that at the end of the day, the more help you need equals more dollars for this business. I d recommend seeking outpatient services elsewhere if possible.

This place is set up to take your money and keep you stuck in services when they are not needed. This place is as corrupt as dcfs. Their supervisor couldn't even read a drug test and put my daughter in jeopardy of being taken by dcfs bc they misread the test. The supervisor swore I was taking opiates when it was my depression meds that are percrribed by a psychiatrist! They are ignorant and shouldn't be allowed to "help" people! Run away!!

Systematic extortion is the only way to sum this place up. On the day of my scheduled evaluation the counselor showed up a hour late while waiting in the waiting area I witnessed two roaches running up and down the walls & one was a baby. During my evaluation I was led to believe I would be able to start group right away when in fact I was not able to start until almost a month later. I was also scheduled for another class during the same time as the group. Again which was 60days out. Did not receive a reminder so here I am thinking I m done with the program when indeed I I have another class at an additional $140. The employees do not communicate with one another & often do not have very much knowledge of how the how program works they are only worried about their part. In group you watch Disney movies, draw pictures & listen to Ted talks. There is zero discussion about substance abuse statistics, how to handle triggers, long or short term effects of drug use. Quite frankly nothing to do with rehabilitation. But they make sure that you schedule your CSR s on time so that they can continue to get their funding/grants. The state/ insurance companies seriously need to investigate because there is clearly some fishy business going on. If you are serious about your sobriety choose a different place because here the only thing they help you with here is breaking the bank.
