About Nexus Recovery

Nexus Recovery Center is an addiction treatment facility located in Dallas, Texas, that offers rehab services to women suffering with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis conditions. Oftentimes, addiction can coexist with mental health issues. This is called a co-occurring condition and requires specific treatment methods. This clinic offers both inpatient and outpatient services as well as intensive outpatient services. They also provide medication assisted detox services that allow you to detox from drugs or alcohol in a safe way while being supervised by medical professionals. They also provide specific services for pregnant women.

Their levels of care also provide counseling services, which is one of the most important parts of your recovery journey. These counseling services include individual therapy and group therapy. The former gives you the chance to meet one on one with a professional therapist who can help guide you in your new sober lifestyle. The latter, which they call the Mom Squad, allows you to work with a group of peers to help you recover together.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Nexus offers outpatient services to women and teenagers as primary treatment or as a step-down from residential treatment. Clients participate in group meetings and individual counseling with a focus on maintaining sobriety while dealing with the stressors of daily living. The goal of this program is to provide their clients a safe place to begin or to continue recovery through identifying major life stresses, personal issues, biochemical issues or mental health issues that have contributed to problematic behavior patterns.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Went to Nexus in July of last year & it saved my life. . I had the most amazing counseling from Ms Sarah S. . to my MAT counselor Lindsay N. The staff there played a pivotal role in the success of my stay. We re all broken & lost when we arrive & there s nothing but open arms and a willingness to help us succeed. That s really all we ever needed. If you truly wanna get sober, this is where you start. if you re trying to decide on whether or not to go, don t, JUST GO. It s time anyways. I promise you life will be so much better. For you and those who love you. God bless.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I have been sober for 418 days today I went to Nexus May 3rd 2023 last year broken. Severe alcoholic on heroin/fentanyl The staff here are amazing They treat you so well I highly recommend this place. They will take you even if you can't pay or anything. I could not pay and they got me in within 24 hours and that's such an amazing thing about them. They will help you out even if you can't pay.

They don't care! I went before some years ago and it was wonderful. They made sure you were comfortable, I was kicking heroine which is so much less severe than fentanyl, and used to they'd hive you a full 8 MG strip, nope, only after you've waited two days, do they give a half pill (4mg) coming off fentanyl!!! It only slightly took the most miniscule difference in taking the edge off, heck I was worried 8 MG might not be enough but then to get 4?! You can never see the dr or talk to someone, the staff members are all on auto pilot just not engaged genuine concern whatsoever which I think I speak for everyone in addiction that our self value and worth is shot already, so if someone goes out of their way for you in the smallest way I'm like overly appreciative, too. Much so, but if you have an issue you need help with, and it's within reason that a staff member is quite capable of helping/guiding through the. Steps from a to b, they won't, because that would cost them effort, time. Energy or focus on someone other than themselves.P.s. they act like like they care so much that if you leave AMA you'll go overdose, but don't care at all what happens to you if you leave without their blessing. They never even allowed me to call my husband then when he called not knowing they wouldn't let me back in and I'm stranded outside, they told him I left knowing I was outside strandedJust know if you plan on coming here and your white, your literally about to pay for the pasts hundreds of years for what your ancestors did to their ancestors...

This was a horrible experience! This organization is not really there to help people, treat or heal anyone! It is all a facade/ smoke and mirrors to get money from the government. The rooms are filthy, there is no cleaning staff or maintenance and I observed many OSHA and health department code violations. A surprise inspection from the state should shut them down. The food is a joke and barely edible unless you prefer artificial nutrients and snacks full of starch and sugars. No meals are prepared or made. Everything comes from a box or bag and the vegetables aren't vegetables by the time they are served. The staff is very unprofessional and rude beyond belief and mean spirited. Most of the techs sit at the desk and do nothing to help clients because they are too busy with their cellphones. The bathrooms are unsanitary and had feces on the floor and mystery stains everywhere. There was dust, debris and dirt from the walls to the floors inches thick. This is NOT a recovery center but ran more like a jail and is not designed for any professional services. They are also very biased against people with mental health conditions or are of a certain racial / sexual makeup. They practice a very classist and biased paradigm unless your race, class, gender preference is suitable to them or they can use to their advantage. I have never been treated so poorly in a space that is supposed to be a "safe haven " for those in need of assistance.

I went in a broken, self-loathing, addict. I came out with knowledge of my disease, skills to recover, and self love that I've never had. I am proud to say I'm still clean, and working my program every day! I couldn't & wouldn't have done this without Nexus.Every staff member is Amazing... I'd hate to name a few that really affected me... but, they know who they are. The women, my fellow addicts, were almost all obviously committed to bettering their lives, and helped me to stick with it! I learned so much from everyone! The campus is beautiful, and safe. The food is great! ... Even the pbj's and the programs offered are outstanding! I brought home Many packets and "homework" that I'm still using and probably always will.I am so grateful to every single person I encountered, in the beginning of my journey to recover. I'll always be thankful for Nexus!!!-Clarissa Morriss
