I go here off and on, it is a place to meet others, share a meal and join in on adventures. Adventures include group movie nights, trips to Maine, camping in Grand Isle, and various other places in Vermont. There are overnight trips and day trips, all of these events provide transportation from, and back to Westview. Evening trips deliver you to your home. Holidays are celebrated, with special meals. As a person in long-term recovery of 20+ years in the Plattsburgh area, myself and several other successful sober people in the Plattsburgh recovery community have engaged often, throughout the years with residents and staff at Twin Oaks. I have attended several graduation dinners to celebrate Twin Oak participants' successful completion of the program - many of whom were graduating and moving on to secured employment and stable housing. I have always found the house to be clean, safe, a welcoming environment and found the staff to be compassionate, caring, willing to engage with the recovery community to assist residents maintain sobriety after they leave the facility. I am friends with several individuals who graduated Twin Oaks who are still sober today 10, 15, 20+ years later that have claimed that Twin Oaks and the dedicated staff there "saved their life". Believe the facility is a great place for individuals who are ready and willing to make changes in their life.
