About New Horizons

New Horizons provides services to help adolescents and adults in Muscatine, Iowa overcome alcohol and drug addictions. Operating as part of UnityPoint Trinity Muscatine, they offer a variety of outpatient treatment options, including counseling and recovery education. They also provide drug testing for clients who need to comply with court orders or workplace requirements. Interpretation services are available for clients who do not speak English. They work with all major insurers, including Medicare and Medicaid, and provide services on a sliding fee scale.

When they first enter treatment, clients will undergo an initial substance abuse evaluation. This helps the team determine the best course of treatment for their needs. There is a more intensive outpatient program and a general outpatient program. These programs are similar to each other and include a combination of individual and group counseling sessions. To make sure treatment is as convenient as possible, the team offers morning, afternoon, and evening counseling times.

Throughout their treatment, clients work closely with a dedicated case manager. This expert will monitor their progress and determine when they’re ready to step down to a less intensive level of support. In addition, case managers can also help clients connect to community resources, including healthcare providers, transportation services, career counselors, and others, so they can continue their recovery when they leave the program.

Clients recognize the importance of having a program like this in a rural location. They mention that cities of all sizes need reputable, reliable places where people can go for addiction recovery support. The facility is located right across from UnityPoint Trinity Muscatine Hospital and accepts walk-in clients.

My previous visit to new horizons was a bad experience I was rescheduled which I already left a review about but that was the best thing she could have done because I had the pleasure of being greeted at the front desk by Shelia whom was a very pleasant receptionist,I also had the pleasure of doing my intake with two individuals that really changed my experience and perception of this place thank you James Jordan and Shelia your people skills are phenomenal and you three can make a difference in people s lives. Those who come there are hurting humans and I don t doubt you treat them as such . I recommend James and Jordan the are awesome

I came to this place for an intake. I was on a business call in the lobby and I gave them my name and she told me she would hand me the paperwork after I got off the phone I went outended my call when I came back in. She was very rude saying you can't be on the phone in here and. I asked her, why can't she give me the paperwork? And she said because I can't, you're on the phone and I explained to her. That it was a business call I went. I was on time for my appointment . She said I need your attorney's address and your case number. I didn't have either available and I said to her. I would think that you guys would have this. She observed me on the phone walking out and I mentioned to the person I was talking to that she was rude and she denied my visit with my intake and made me reschedule. This place stunk and her name was Julie and she was very rude and I even apologized to her and she still would not. Let me go forward with my appointment. It was a personality conflict and. Add nothing to do with the reason why I was there

The truth does not matter to these people. Their pay check is a violation of our executive judicial and legislative branches of government. There cannot be a separation between church and state when these people are required to have faith in an unjust system.
