About New Hope Behavioral Health Center

New Hope Behavioral Health Center is an outpatient substance abuse behavioral healthcare clinic located in Mesa, Arizona. New Hope Behavioral Health Center specializes in opioid use disorder. New Hope partners with outside health care professionals to integrate and manage the delicate task of stabilizing and their opiate dependent patients.

We are an adult out-patient Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Facility focusing strictly on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) with Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT). We offer and require 1:1 and group counseling for our patients, intake and update assessments, transportation, case management, vocational rehabilitation, random drug-screening, and transportation, all in addition to the medication portion of the treatment.

We work closely with outside agencies, including the Department of Child Safety, adult probation, and physical and mental health facilities. It is our goal to ensure our patients are connected to the services they need, that New Hope may not be able to provide. On that occasion, we will help engage them in those services through referrals and coordination of care.

Marne has been a Godsend and I honestly don't know where I would be without her and the team. I have been going through a lot I've been in pain management, I've been to rehab, I've been to prison. I know that not everyone is built the same or seen the same things or experienced the same experiences. But, the people who can just keep an open mind and not judge someone for the first thing they see or the way that someone has lived before all of this. I know I'm no better or different then anyone. I just need help and am so thankful for you guys. And we have good and bad days like everyone else. I hope for the best for any and all of these workers here. The Dr. Is cool too just explain the total truth and they will understand the situation. I know the truth isn't always easy but they will understand. Just try to remember your in a safe environment and they are there to help.

Unfortunately my body didn't do good with the opiate replacement meds. I was disappointed to find out this place only prescribes methadone and suboxone, if you're trying to detox at home this place useless. They need people coming in regularly for their dose to stay in business, I get it. But it would be nice if they offered aid for those trying to detox at home. Gabapentin & high dose LIPOSOMAL vitamin C did the trick for me. A little bit of benzos for anxiety and sleep. Anyone serious about getting clean, look into GABAPENTIN and HIGH DOSE VITA C. There's always better options than opiate replacement meds. Do your own research. You can do it on your own. Good luck.ALSO, this place considers people on methadone/ suboxone "sober". Another disagreement I had with the owner. We all know that's not true.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person denies their substance abuse behavior when confronted one-on-one, a drug intervention in Arizona may be necessary. An intervention may be formally planned with intervention services from a professional who can guide loved ones through this process. The intervention involves confronting someone with how their drinking or drug use has affected themselves and everyone around them and encourages them to get treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is done under the care of licensed medical professionals. Known as medically assisted detox, this level of care is typically in an inpatient setting with a team of medical experts that may include doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Medications like Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol may be administered to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Also known as CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy in Arizona is one of the most common types of psychotherapy. It offers a structured method of counseling that effectively treats substance use disorder and dual diagnosis disorders.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Arizona focuses on acceptance of your reality and behaviors while also attempting to make changes in unhealthy behaviors. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorder.

In Arizona, group therapy helps promote accountability and motivation for men and women who want to stay committed to addiction recovery. It fosters a sense of community where you can share your progress and learn new coping strategies from your peers.

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction includes focused attention on the unique challenges that trigger addictive behavior. During individual therapy sessions, you have a safe space in which to discuss stressors and emotional struggles. Therapy fosters trust and open communication that helps develop personalized strategies to overcome addiction.

The goal of motivational interviewing in Arizona is to enhance your confidence in your ability to make changes in your life. It encourages you to commit to change and plan for the process of making those changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

New Hope quite literally saved my life. I was hopelessly stuck on Fentanyl (2017 on/off through 2023) and Suboxone (2022 to 2023) and quit going to the Suboxone Doctor, ran out, switched to Blues, was in between jobs and out of money and running out of time to pay my rent. I finally broke and made the call and got an induction 2 days later at 5 AM. (The 1st 2 weeks were miserable and I thought I'd never stop withdrawals until I finally got some relief at 60mg (enough to sleep more than 20 minutes without flailing around) and now I've been stable on 99mg/Day for a couple months (Started clinic in June of 2023). My counselor is also amazing and genuinely cares about us and our lives/bettering our lives. I just had to Narcan a friend on New Years (he went to the motel room next door and smoked too much). I've OD'd several times and seeing it happen is worse. Thank Harm Reduction, y'all LITERALLY saved a 20 year old kids life.

Mindy is amazing, answers the after hours line and helps 24/7 365 days a year, she truly cares. Dr. Ray & Matt were the first addiction specialists who I didnt leave the conversation thinking I had more current science than the specialist. Best addiction doctor Ive ever delt with bar none. The front desk and whole crew is super cool, Terrell you're the man, beast coast.Never once felt less than and I am not the typical clinic patient. I probably wouldnt have done it if not for this crew and it worked out very well!

This clinic deserves more than 5 stars, lol. When I was searching for a methadone clinic I called them and they were booked for the day but I could walk in and possibly be seen incase of a cancellation , or I could go to another clinic that would see me no matter what. Something in my gut told me, just to go to new hope. & I m so happy that I did. I ve never been in a clinic setting so this was all very new to me, and they made me feel so welcomed, I ve been coming here now for almost 4 months,, the staff knows just about everyone who walks in the door, lol. It s actually pretty comforting & nice when staff actually remember your name, especially when they re seeing hundreds of people daily! My counselor Marne is fantastic! She listens, and she cares, she also remembers the little things you tell her like that you have a job interview this day and she ll find you after ask how it went. That shows me she cares, because she s also seeing multiple patients daily, weekly, monthly herself. This clinic & the staff are just so genuine and so kind hearted! They make me feel soo welcomed, and never once have made me feel ashamed for my addiction, they re extremely understanding & never ever pass judgment! I highly highly recommend this clinic, I promise you will not be disappointed. thank you new hope, for caring! & helping me turn my life around.

Been a patient here for 2 years now and been to other clinics in the valley new hope is bar none the best clinic in the valley ! My encounters with the other 2 I attended were absolutely horrible , an absolute nightmare where no one staffed there knew what was up or down . Both other facilities I had a different counselor every other month from the turnover rate being so high , new hope I've had Marne since day one, who is incredible BTW, it's nice to have someone who is there who can honestly support you and your can talk to without just meeting the person.. New hope Definitely brings the hope Versus making you crave it..

This is a very special group of people that provide excellent care for individuals going through opiate addiction. They make the intake process comfortable, and easy, and they also provide all outlets to help you quit using. They all work together too keep the patients and they're families, part of their family. I know all this from personal experience. They literally saved my life! Big thank you to Mindy, and the ENTIRE staff. God bless

I have been at this clinic for 2 years now! They got me set up while I was at the rehab (UNHOOKED) that s right next door. Ever since day one the clinic s staff, nurses, counselors and doctors have been super supportive and really go out of there way to make sure your comfortable and doing ok. New Hope Behavioral goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for their patient s and is by far the best clinic I have ever been to. I don t have one bad thing to complain about this life changing facility. I highly recommend anyone looking for substance abuse treatment to come here. Thank you New Hope for everything you have done and continue to do for me!

I started Methadone treatment here a little over a month ago, and I was immediately stunned by how nice they treated me at the clinic. Definitely not used to that being in many treatment centers, and struggling with addiction my whole life. But here I felt genuine compassion, and that I was talked to, and dealt with a level of respect. My life is back in track, and I feel healthy & Happy for the for the first time in a long time. Thank you NH.
