I was very sick. I just didn't know how sick until after they sorted me out. I truly appreciated the kindness the whole staff showed. The help I received when they found out I didn't have insurance left me without words. Thank you for the care all the way around.

Sat in the waiting room for two hours before I got triaged. Didn t know till later, but the FOUR triage nurses didn t actually listen to me so listed the wrong thing as my complaint. Sat in the waiting room for another four hours before I got sat in a chair in the hallway. Waited another hour just to be handed a single ibuprofen and sent home 30 minutes later. Zero help whatsoever. All of my bloodwork indicated an infection which was not mentioned. I never even saw a doctor, just a nurse practitioner who sat next to me for two minutes having already made up his mind about the problem before seeing me. I forwarded my bloodwork done at the hospital to my primary care doctor and he was horrified that I was sent home instead of admitted. I was sobbing in pain as they were trying to discharge me and they said pain is not a reason to stay (I now know the law says otherwise). The waiting room was full with multiple people ordering food to be delivered to them in the waiting room, and then they sat in the waiting room to eat and got annoyed when a woman violently puking entered the waiting room as if she was puking in someone s kitchen. I understand that the hospital is horrifically understaffed, but that is NOT a reason to be neglectful and avoid doing your job. Y all have already been sued after a woman suffered lifelong injuries because you ignored the most common signs of a stroke. Have you not learned from that? Either shut the damn hospital down or hire people capable of doing their job. I m not paying a cent of the ridiculous $8000 bill y all gave me. Yall never even gave me a room, you sat me in the waiting room for 6 hours and had me in a chair in the hall for 45 minutes. What do you need a $4500 bed charge for?

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to receive addiction treatment while continuing to work and reside at home. Many programs offer evening, night, and weekend services so that clients may receive treatment on their own schedule. Outpatient treatment modalities typically include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Many programs also provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services, to align with clients' evolving needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During rehab in Georgia, you may engage in motivational interviewing. This typically lasts one to two sessions and is designed to address any ambivalence you have toward change. It helps you explore your current situation and motivations and commit to making changes for the future.

In trauma therapy, you address the emotional and psychological effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist provides you with the tools you need to process those memories and reduce the symptoms. This helps improve your overall mental health and functioning.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Many life skills involve coping with emotions and stress. Others involve completing tasks that allow you to live independently. Examples include finding a job, managing finances, and nutrition. During rehab in Georgia, you'll work on any skills that are lacking to ensure you have the tools for success post treatment.

Nutrition therapy has short term and long term goals. In the short term, it helps restore your health so you can recover from the physical effects of addiction. Long term, it helps you understand overall health and nutrition to set you up for a healthy lifestyle in recovery.

By incorporating recreational therapy into an addiction treatment program in Georgia, you learn to discover new interests and develop health and healthy coping mechanisms. Activities could include painting, group sports, or yoga. These encourage social interaction and support your physical fitness, which are vital factors in a successful recovery journey.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I thank God for leading and guiding me to be in the right place at the right time. Dr. J.Dyas, Dr. Dillon and their wonderful team who were all knowledgeable and kind. The dietary staff were professional and the food was good. The air was comfortable, and I thank God for Nurse Taylor who assisted me with heat packs, hot broths and blankets when I could barely move out of bed.The Bible says that He will bless those that bless me and curse those that curse me, so this is my prayer: that all of you who assisted me in any way, be blessed in the specific way that you need most. And that everyone in Atrium receive a visit from the Lord and I pray he brings you healing and comfort.I was observing your chapel and noticed it was..unclean. The body of Christ is ready and available to serve His people, with prayer and the prayer of salvation. We pray in advance for you and your victory in Jesus name. Amen.

This is THE worst hospital to go to on Macon. Its dirty, gross, a good majority of nurses have no bedside manner and just downright wrong. I DO NOT recommend going here unless its your absolute last choice. They dont care about you and blame it on them being a trauma hospital or shorr staffed. I had the police called on me after a male nurse who wasnt my nurse tried to come in my room and open my curtain while I stood behind it half naked. Told him he could come in but to close the door behind him. He didn t introduce himself. He had papers in his hands and then said no its ok. I ll come back later. I said no its ok please come in. His response No I have more stuff I need to get for you. That was a lie. He went and got two police officers. I screamed after I got back in my room. When I asked why he got the officers he said becuase I was screaming and beating on stuff. That was a lie. I screamed out of frustration from our encounter at the door and being stomach to back hungry. I checked into the back of the er around 12ish. I was asked to leave around 6ish. I was given fluids, antibiotics, pain medication, but never any crackers or juice anything to put on my stomach. So doped up and wondering why I still have a headache. I hadnt eaten. Asked would I see the doctor again my nurse said yes but the littl scary male nurse said no. Asked MY nurse and tech about getting something to eat and they said they ll see what they can do then the male nurse came in making trouble. I hate this hospital with a passion and will never cole back again even if my life depended on it. I d rather die on my way to another hospital than to sit and and endure another terrible episode with them. There are some good nurses and doctors there but they dnt make up for the bad ones. Maybe its becuase im a single black female? Just stay away if you can.

I brought my husband here today post having chest pain and a syncopal event. We have been here since about 730 am. On arrival to the er room, a nurse started an iv that infiltrated. A second iv was not attempted nor did she remove it. A second nurse came in about 1.5 hours later and advised that it was infiltrated and started a second iv. Despite him complaining about the discomfort of the infiltrated iv (would not flush or pull blood), it was left in place. In the er, he wasn t provided a call light and post head CT, they failed to reconnect his telemetry monitor. I had to do it.When provided a temporary room assignment, transporter could not be bothered to disconnecthim from telemetry. She also couldn t put the foot rests down on the wheel chair down. It was my job.Now we are upstairs in a room. Upon entering the room, the bed was unlocked and wasn t even plugged in. So, when my husband went to sit down, the bed literally shifted out from under him.An aide collected vitals and a nurse came in to assess him. The nurse thought I was the patient which tells me she cared so little about her new admission that she didn t even know the gender of the patient she was evaluating. Then, she simply asked his pain level and walked out. I m not sure what she actually assessed.Lastly, he is here for possible cardiogenic issues and since arriving upstairs, he has yet to be put back on telemetry.I understand it is a large facility with extremely limited resources but the number of safety concerns and ambivalent nature of the staff is frankly sad.Update: I have repeatedly shown multiple staffMembers pictures of the label for the single prescription he is on and they literally just tried to give him another dose despite having told them he took his am meds. Maybe if they actually did a patient assessment, they d know the one medicine he does take and that he has already had it.

My Sister Recently Visited Here Due To An Asthma Attack & The Treatment She Received Was HORRIBLE !!! I Waited To Be Called Back For 30 Minutes & Within Those 30 Minutes 5 Unprofessional, Unintrested Nurses Ignored Her Cries For Help ! We Came In Through The Emergency Side & She Was Transported Down The Hallway To The Back. When I Got To Her She Was Literally Sitting By Herself Crouched Over The Table Spitting On The Floor Because They Wouldnt Give Her A Spit Cup. Not One Soul Was Tending To Her. She Expressed To The Best Of Her Ability That Her Chest Cavity Was Closing & All They Had To Say To Her Was There s Nothing Wrong , You're Getting Oxygen. Stop ! Move ! She Begged To Be Put On A Ventilator Because She Was Getting To Weak To Try To Breathe On Her Own , But Instead They Put Her On An Oxygen Mask. To Hear What Happened When She Woke Up During The Time I Was Waiting In The Waiting Room Is Sickening !!!! If You Do Not Want To Work & Save Lives FIND ANOTHER CAREER !! She Said She Wouldn t Wish That Kind Of Treatment On Her Worse Enemy !!! One Man Wore Glasses & Couldn t Even See !!!!

FILTHY HOSPITAL. my room was disgusting, floor was sticky and covered in grime. I had to ask for bedding to be changed and fresh towels. Cleaning staff claimed to sanitize the room but only wiped down the light switch and door knob. Nursing staff was ok, 1 nurse Misty was very good. Surgery side of the hospital was great but the inpatient was gross and I felt like I could get staph infection any minute. And my home health nurse lost his leg from staph infection from this hospital.

And same way today dr cox is super professional Waiting over 10 hours and not even speaking to a Dr is unacceptable. Instead of robo comments to call customer service look at the amount of one stars, which would probably be zero if was an option and fix the problem. I've looked back at reviews as far back as over a year and same. Some people will say covid or short staffed but someone needs to address and correct problems at this facility.

I had a horrible experience, the facilities were filthy, I had to request simple things like tissues and soap multiple times from multiple people before anyone would respond. I had doctors and nurses tell me one thing and another come in with a completely different response. I had doctors miss after birth hemorrhage and almost bled out and needed a blood transfusion. My nurse lost birth certificate paperwork so I had to come back to the hospital the next day to refill out that information. When being discharged my nurse Greer cut my baby leg with scissors causing bleeding carelessly trying to remove his security bracelet. The nurses were extremely rough with my baby, he had several cuts and bruises from simple procedures. Will never ever come back or recommend this facility to anyone.
