Son s pediatrician has sent in a referral for counseling weeks ago, and they have not called me, responded to voicemails, answered the phone, or emails. My son needs help desperately and the people in the office seem to NOT CARE. They work in a MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. Have some understanding and compassion for your patients/future patients and GET IT TOGETHER.Will have to seek help elsewhere but plan on taking this up the ladder as far as I possibly can. This is out of control and all the other reviews of the incompetent and heartless office and scheduling staff are CORRECT. Shameful.

Accepted Insurance

MultiCare Health System – MultiCare Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Accreditations

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Established in 1992 by congress, SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on American's communities.

All of these people and the staff saved me. Without this place I'd be in the streets using drugs to escape reality, so basically they saved my life! Grateful.

I was forced to go through here through a medical facility. First appointment didn't happen because no one knew I was there even though I checked in. In March, i left the facility but had to stay going due to medications and therapy. The therapist was missing every appointment we rescheduled so i said i no longer wanted to do it even though i actually needed it, just not the constant rescheduling over an appointment i was completely planned out for.I'm writing this review not because of the therapist or med provider but because of the scheduling department. After my last appointment in June, i stayed on the phone to reschedule as usual. No one answered this time, didn't think of it as it was summer and left a voicemail. Not one call whatsoever. Just now called, sat on the phone being berated by the automated system to leave a voicemail to be called back or stay on the line but clearly it kept repeating itself every 30 seconds and forced me to leave a voicemail.Thing is, this is MENTAL HEALTH. Not some frilly haircut or nails or whatever. Get your scheduling department straightened out so folks like me aren't going without needed medications and doctors appointments. I was supposed to schedule for August as requested by my med provider, so to have not one call back in 90 DAYS is beyond incompetent.

If you want to improve your mental health this is not the place. They ll call and cancel an hour before your appointment time. Then call during that time after you ve moved onto something else with your time, then call it a no call no show in your charts even though they made the mistake in scheduling. THEN they send a threatening letter in the mail stating you re going to be dropped from services if you don t immediately reschedule. The last time they pulled this stunt I couldn t even call back to reschedule because the voicemail box was full. This time they said sorry, whoops, there s nothing we can do. This is a joke. It s a terrible system and because of that it s been worse for my mental health than it s been helpful. Shame on them and their system. Guarantee this place has caused people to just off themselves because this was their only hope and MultiCare behavior health screwed them. They ve waisted over a year of my life now, and I m not willing to start over. They need to be sued honestly, but everyone the screw over is destitute and barely wants to live anymore.

My therapist I had was phenomenal. Madeline White is amazing. My problems come from when I had to flee across the state from my abusive husband. A month later, he physically assualted me and went to jail. Obviously my mental health was in shambles at that point. Upper management decided it's policy to not allow people in pierce or king county continue to receive services. I was allowed 1 a week visits through September, then I went to one every 3 weeks, I was looking for therapy, but the town I was in there was only one, and it had a 6 month waiting list. They even called to make sure I wasn't lieing. They had no compassion for anything I was going through. They refused to show me the policy as well. They cancelled my last appointment with no phone call, or other notification that it was cancelled.Update: I have called The n umber, but there is no option for the behavioral health clinic. I also emailed a few weeks ago, and have not heard back.Update.Still no return calls. I still don't know where I'm supposed to do it what number to get to where I need to go.3/4/2024Still waiting on responses from patient and family relations. This happened 1 yr and 7 months ago.

Not exactly a "....share...." experian. Wanted to share with Brian my favorite song , along with some "....ner...." perspectives I "....enjoyed...." over last week-end.Mr. Bo Jankles has been a favorite of mine long before I fully realzed the meaning of the lyrics. The melady is a 6/8 walz beat. Frist song that did that type of melody. ( The music has always fascinated me. When us kids went to the local roller rink and learned how to dance on skates the walz was one of the first we learned. ( I didn't know then about Bo Jankels. ".... most of the time I spend behind thes bars, 'cause I's drinks a bit....". "....Mr. Bojankles loved me and stayed with me....". "....the dog up and died, he died...." "....after 20 yrs., he still greives....".Really am finding it difficult wiping yesterday's "....sad pictures...." from mya mind's rewind. Am out of electricty in the bedroom and kitchen, ADAIN !! SameS thing as last time --turned the micrwave and darkness fell-- zip, gone. Got heat, food, et etc. Just really ticked! Will be moved ten PM and the cabs put youon hold.....to the Vinyage Apartmentx Mon. O Tues. this week.... thank you Jesus. Also got "....lost...." Sat. ( hopelessly LOST. I couidn't eemember how to get home to save my soul. Used my life alert neck-piece for the first time. Found out EMT's can't take me home; but; they picked me up ( I was dizzy, hadn't fallen, but, was Really close.). The buses had stopped running at ten PM. Cabs wereputting people on hold forever. The EM guys scooped me up and carrued me to the firetruck and took me home; which; they're NOT supposed to do. Wow....I probably will not be seeung you f-f Mon. Was told to "try" to sit with legs elaveted, yada; yada. Okay; though still getting dizzy if I hurry too fast to the restroom or to the bedroom. No prolem sleep wise; tho.
