Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Horrible customer service! They don't worry about you and how such a lack of communication and mediocre care can affect your mental health.

My husband loves Dr. Theuri and how she handles his mental health needs. However, getting an appointment for his med refills has been a NIGHTMARE. My husband believes Carastar wants him to take his own life bc of how difficult it has been to make an appointment. He called when was due for a refill on a med a month ago and was told he missed a phone appointment he never got notice of and there is no record of a missed call on the phone or phone records. He was told they'd call him May 27 at 530 no call. He called May 28th to follow up and had to leave a message not one person has returned our calls or answered the phone. How sad that it's this hard to get an appointment for a current patient or any response at all.

The younger lady that sits to the left as you sign in is very rude. She needs an attitude adjustment! I was very nice and kept my cool...I just had a hard time hearing her through the window!

This whole place is a complete joke! Everytime you try to call them they act like they have no idea what you're talking about! But they have no problem calling you about your upcoming appointments. But they don't wanna answer the phones for noone! Everyone that I've talked to have either bad experiences with them or had completely left there and went somewhere else. One of these days I'm gonna have the strength enough to get up and leave them behind but I can't right now! And it's depressing because all you can is try to trust them with your problems but they don't seem to care at all.

If my therapist wasn't a nice lady, I would have given them a 1 star. My therapist is great, she's a sweet lady. But my psychiatrist doesn't listen and doesn't care what I say. I feel like his guinea pig to prescribe whatever he wants to for experiment. He prescribed me a medication that isn't even labeled for my condition. I told him I had taken the medication before but for the condition that medication is for and explained I had a bad experience and terrible symptoms. I also explained I'm currently breastfeeding my infant and he still prescribed it knowing it is not safe for breastfeeding and said I have to try it for at least a month. So not only is he risking my health, he wants to risk my baby's health as well.

We hate to hear you've not had a good experience. A clinical supervisor is reviewing this and will reach out to you ASAP to discuss; we take your concern about safety of medications quite seriously. If, for some reason, they aren't able to contact you, please give us a call at 334-279-7830 and ask to speak to our Director of Nursing about a medication issue. Hopefully we can resolve this quickly.

If you get miss Belle as your therapist she is wonderful!! She helped me work through the difficult emotions I was having and I am doing so much better after my visit here. It's not all flowers and chocolate, the atmosphere is drab and dreary. But it did allow me to have a time out from my life and realize what matters most. I know that hasn't been everyone's experience on here but it sure helped me.
