About Mission Treatment Center

Scottsdale Comprehensive Treatment Center used to be called Mission Treatment Center. It’s an outpatient drug rehab for opioid use in Scottsdale, Arizona. They offer treatment for adults, including medication assisted treatment (MAT) and general outpatient programs.

MAT allows you to take FDA approved medication to manage cravings so you don’t have as big a chance of relapsing during treatment. This clinic uses methadone to both help with withdrawal and manage cravings long term while you’re in treatment.

Their outpatient program supports MAT and includes drug and alcohol screening and counseling and learning new life skills. They can also connect you to peer support groups and 12 step or other recovery programs to help you create and maintain long term sobriety.

This has been the best methadone clinic I've been too. Besides the very short lines and wait and no unreasonable demands for making it your appointments. The staff is just awesome..all of them..but i saw Elizabeth, one of the counselors and she is beyond understanding and so helpful. The nurse is also fabulous, she knows the new laws well regarding methadone prescribing and immediately was willing to very rapidly get my dose up to the level I needed. And even the receptionist, Sofia, understands the " methadone patient" and is ALWAYS so accommodating, sweet, and makes me smile even when I'm having a rough day!! I 100% recommend this clinic!!

Simply awful wait times. Most days there's only 1 person to dispense causing extremely long slow lines of almost an 30-45 minutes depending on how many 30 day supply patients are in front of you. The staff is nice but I need efficiency. It used to be good here but now the clinic it seems is too cheap to hire more dosing help.

This by far is the best methadone clinic/treatment center in the valley. They are the real deal. I ve been to several different clinics in the past 5 to 7 years and I m going to be honest 100% fact they almost always suck very rude short spoken places that are just wore out from addicts taken advantage of their services and I get it this cannot be a easy job for someone who doesn t have opioid issues in their past very hard stressful job I imagine.HOWEVER if a person decides that they want to operate a place like this as a way to financially succeed in life, then they better be prepared for the difficult road that they are going to have to witness SO MANY human beings struggle thru. And I felt safe being honest with my counselor here I felt 100% that I was being led by a awesome support group they actually have success stories here people reach goals here with the awesome bunch of people. Keep up the good work. Destiny is so sweet. I made such a good choice by starting at this place. Don t trust the other methadone clinics shady shit goes on at OTHER CLINICS. Not Scottsdale clinic

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

THESE PEOPLE ARE ENABLERS!!! I'm infuriated it took me this long to figure this out. There is no help here. They don't care about their "patients". They are full on drug dealers. I WILL BE FILLING THE AG OFFICE WITH COMPLAINTS UNTIL THIS PLACE IS GONE. NO ONE WILL EVER GO HERE AFTER THEY START FOLLOWING an actual rehab regimen.

I really do like this facility, I have one complaint and that is the senile nurse at window 1. Absolutely awful at her job, has zero self awareness and cannot make a decision to save her life it s embarrassing. I avoid this woman like the plague. WITH THAT BEING SAID, the clinical lead Emily is fantastic. That woman is amazing at her job, and makes you feel like you aren t just another patient, 10/10 rockstar. If you have an ongoing issue, she will address it promptly with an actual solution. TY

At Scottsdale Comprehensive, I've never felt so at ease. When you walk in, you're greeted by a lovely and genuine smile that brightens not only my day but also the days of others. When I decided to give methadone another try, I was defeated and had lost faith in my own recovery due to a terrible experience at Baart. The team truly cares about their patients and proved to me very early on in my treatment that they will do everything in their power to help guide me back to the person I once was. That's what recovery is all about.I feel confident this is my temporary home while I learn to cope with the past and learn to love myself again and grow in a healthy and sustainable way. From the check in counter, to the dose counter, and to the counselors and beyond it s hard to think I can fail at this clinic. Their attention to detail and genuine concern for my well-being are unparalleled. They consistently go above and beyond, doing things that other clinics wouldn't even consider.Thank you, amazing team, for being extremely thoughtful and understanding. You're in a league of your own!I am rebuilding my life, and with the support and dedication of Scottsdale Comprehensive, I am more confident than ever in my path to recovery. I couldn't be more thankful!Sincerely,John

Use extreme caution before choosing this facility for your medication assisted treatment and/or substance abuse counseling. There are many other options available which can offer a more professional, courteous, and therepeutic environment conducive to your sustainable recovery. As a current patient I implore you to STEER CLEAR OF SCOTTSDALE COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT CENTER AT ANY AND ALL COST I don't usually take the time to write reviews, however I believe it to be my duty to warn others (with or without disabilities) who may be contemplating treatment at this particular facility. Beginning on my 2nd morning at Scottsdale CTC I have personally witnessed and/or experienced: DAILY BLATANT DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PATIENTS WITH DISABILITIES ISSUES & VIOLATIONS RELATED TO PATIENT PRIVACY EXCESSIVE WAIT TIME TO MEDICATE(WELL UPWARDS OF 20 MINUTES AFTER ARRIVING) WILD (AND ULTIMATELY) UNFOUNDED ACCUSATIONS AGAINST OTHER PATIENTS RELATED TO DRUG USE/DISTRIBUTION ON PREMESIS UNSOLICITED & UNIVITED TELEPHONE COMMUNICATIONS FROM STAFF (EVEN AFTER ASKING TO NOT BE CALLED) FLAGRANT STAFF/PATIENT FAVORITISM, SPECIAL FAVORS GRANTED, GOSSIPThe core medication assisted treatment program and counseling here at CTC is actually quite typical and it is the only reason I am willing to give 2 stars. They were surprisingly friendly during my intake process and also somewhat helpful in answering questions I had regarding my being new to the area. This unfortunately cannot excuse the treatment I have been receiving and I am ashamed of myself for brushing this all under the rug for as long as I have.I'm a female USMC veteran and for the past 14 years have required the use of a seizure alert service dog to mitigate the hardships of a physical disability I suatained during my milirary service. I first attended Comprehensive Treatment Center about 6 months ago after having relocated to the Scottsdale area from Chicago. I had previously been treated for opioid use disorder by Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital for the better portion of 12 years and I am by no means new to treatment or recovery. I have attended a variety of MAT clinics while traveling in the US, and I consider myself well-informed in MAT standards. My suggestions to improve future staff/patient relations at Scottsdale CTC: Management desparately needs to be educated in basic ADA law. Until then, they will continue to place myself and others with disabilities in harm's way by jeopardizing our health and safety by limiting our access to proper care. All staff should be properly trained in matters pertinent to patient privacy preferences and should use best practices in any and all patient communications. Nursing staff should limit small talk and personal conversations at the dosing windows to ensure that all patients are medicated in a timely fashion. Upper management should facilitate open-door, clear, concise, and impartial full investigative procedures as related to any and all suspected/reported staff OR patient misconduct. Consequences and/or a call to action should be implemented swiftly and immediately, but only after a full investigation (backed by reliable evidence) has concluded and the allegations in question have been determined to be founded. Wake up Scottsdale CTC!! All lives are precious and deserve the same protections...

First, Im new to the Arizona area and was pretty badly spiraling off my pain medication, i kept looking up clinics near me for relief but it was so close to christmas that everyone turned their heads. Not only did this facility efficiently cater to me as fast as they could, but these women genuinely acted with grace and kindness, whilst making sure i was heard, treated with the utmost respect, and most importantly feeling better.I do not have enough characters to perfectly describe the helpfulness of these ladies. You're greeted by a welcoming smile everyday at the admin window, helped efficiently by the lovely dosing nurses, and cared for with the utmost compassion by any of the counselors you happen to meet with. These women are all incredibly wonderful, and i felt like all of my needs were met within the walls of this facility. Im so grateful that i stumbled upon them, but im most importantly thankful my health was taken care of by who i believe to be the best team cut out for the job.Thank you so much ladies, i wish you all the best <3

It started out great. I even accept some of the responsibility for the horrible ending. I was drawn to them at first because they will tell you it isn t about money. They also tell you they will help you find something if you can t afford it. Those two things are not at all true. It is about money and nobody helped me find another clinic. I have other demons that isn t their fault and I got behind. They make it very uncomfortable when you re behind. So instead of getting embarrassed every morning I switched clinics. This is where I have the real problem. They don t tell you everything you need to do to switch. On the last day after driving back and forth I asked if I could dose one more time. Emily says she never denies someone a dose due to money and cuts my dose in half but still leaves me on the hook for the whole week. Vindictive and petty! Elizabeth the counselor is amazing and I will miss her. If you re not positive you can pay. Stay away!

I have been going here for over a year and in the beginning I would have given a -5 stars due to certain staff members that worked there the only reason I kept going was because there wasn't a huge line waiting to dose. Though now I'm glad I stayed as they have gotten rid of a lot of staff over the time I've been going and now it's a lot better people across the clinic from front desk to management. The dosing nurses and doctor and of course my counselor are all amazing. Although now it is getting busier there so the lines do get a little out of control but they are pretty good about getting everyone dosed and back on with their day as best they can. Overall I think it is a great place to go if your serious about your sobriety.
