Where do I start...Checked into Burkwood on 09/25/2023 a shell of the person i once was for my 8th attempt at treatment a hopeless dope addict and the man who left 42 days later was almost unrecognizable as the same person. I am going to keep this short and to the point. This place saved my life! To anyone who has been to treatment before and failed to stay sober after I have an easy recipe for success i will lay out for you and if it worked for me it can work for anyone and here it is. Call burkwood make a plan, show up, Surrender(#1 biggest thing you have to do) and by that i mean just give in to the process and listen to what they are saying even when you want to question why just do what they are telling you they are not doing what their doing for any other reason then it flipping works, next is get involved and share with your peers and last but not least don't leave till they tell you your ready to and follow their recommendations its just that easy! The food at burkwood was amazing the staff was amazing and the accommodations overall were also amazing! I love coming here. I've been in therapy on and off my whole life. No one has picked out and helped me directionally with my traumas as they have. I've seen two therapists here. One for life and grieving the other for EMDR. They both have been fantastic and such a great asset to my healing journey. Nystrom as a whole system is great as well for medication, nutrition and referrals for other issues. Truly a blessing to have. I ve had a very good experience with Valhalla Place in Woodbury. One time the building had water damage and I had to wait like 2-3 hours at another clinic to get dosed. But that was a freak thing.Valhalla has saved my life. I was mind blown at how welcoming this facility is, i was a homeless from prison, they help me get housing, as immigrant, they helped me get my green card renewed,they helped me find the job and mental health services are great! Counselors and therapists are really amazing, shoutouts to the owner Yusuf, fardowsa, sharon,cece and others. I highly recommend it to Rwandese people who struggle with addiction and mental health issues. While I was in the treatment, they offered me opportunity to get IT training in cybersecurity and they help you navigate through the process of education and finish your degree in case you dropped out of college like me.

All the other ones I tried, were for profit, and it truly showed, they were more interested in moving you to a higher level of care than actually helping you.
