Do not bring your loved ones here if you care for them. This place is an abusive scam under the disguise of spiritual healing. First off, it s nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone via phone. It is unclear who the staff is and whether they are properly certified. Trying to call about your concerns will result with staff rudely hanging up. My loved one has endured multiple med errors- one resulting in an overdose at the treatment facility! I have worked in the medical field and there is absolutely no justification for several instances of med errors. My loved one calls crying about rude and abusive comments the counselors have made. It is disgusting that a place like this uses spirituality to abuse people who need the most help. Please don t send your loved ones here.I see after 4 years the owner has responded. Update, my loved one has passed away from their addiction. They did an aftercare program with teen challenge in Minneapolis where multiple people were using in the facility and actually overdosed and died that year. In an aftercare program. There s more stability in jail. She didn t even have access to a kitchen to cook for herself. Using spirituality once again and not providing adequate medical and professional mental health care. Teen challenge won t notify the family so we had no idea how to help or if she had relapsed. They also fired the only seemingly beneficial people there and completely changed the program. There s a special place in hell for those who take advantage of the broken. And I see the owner left a number to call. You are better off calling your lawyer. Those were precious years are what I had left with my loved one while they were in treatment and imagine Teen challenge not even allowing you to speak with them. And I m going to report a specific incident here so Teen challenge can stop trying to save face. My loved one was prescribed Xanax for over a decade. They took my loved one off Xanax cold turkey nearly killing them and refused to write a medical report. So I will pray you get God s deserving wrath :) can t report something with no medical report! If someone in the comments wants me to start naming names I certainly can.If you are committed to patient care, do a tour of your detox facilities and mental health professionals and kitchen. Oh wait, there is no proper detox and that s right just like jail the residents are doing the cooking. And you can cope all you want by binge eating because they don t monitor those addictions. (My loved one also became extremely obese while under their long-term care ) the only thing my loved one left there with was a greater love for Jesus and in the end Jesus isn t coping skills! You don t set your residents up with psychiatric care or meds, just Jesus! Even in the Bible He tells us he gave us the tools, we have to use them. A false sense of security that Jesus will save you every time is misleading and damaging! Teen challenge really has the structure of a cult not a treatment center.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically enter inpatient rehab after they complete detox. Inpatient care is also designed for clients who are experiencing a crisis and are at an increased risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment center for the duration of their program. Clients engage in intensive addiction counseling, often using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other proven modalities. Many inpatient rehabs offer recovery-focused life skills training. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and yoga, may be included.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide robust, wraparound care for clients who have completed detox and/or intensive inpatient rehab. Their services may vary widely, but typically include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, career counseling, and related community reintegration services. The client's case manager and recovery team coordinates with the client to identify the rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support long-term recovery through personal growth. Participants are expected to regularly attend 12 step meetings, which are free, anonymous, and accessible 365 days per year in most communities. They are also mentored by self-selected sponsors who help guide them through the steps of recovery, which are rooted in spiritual principles and designed to foster self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance. Religious affiliation is not required and specialized formats, including age and gender specific meetings, are available.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Minnesota is a planned effort to persuade an individual to quit using drugs or to enter a treatment program. The intervention may be led by a specialist provided by rehab intervention services. This interventionist should have training in addiction treatment and experience in the mental health profession. Their expertise can prove invaluable in leading the intervention discussion and guiding the family in appropriate next steps.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) can provide supportive and structured care to those who don't require 24/7 supervision. It can be used as a "step-down" option after you're released from the hospital or a residential program. PHP treatment integrates evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The duration of a partial hospital program is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals but averages 90 days.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
When individuals first enter rehab, they may be malnourished due to substance use. They may also suffer from illness, organ damage, or other medical issues. 24-hour clinical care in Minnesota provides on-call staff who can monitor these conditions and provide appropriate treatment 24/7. This setting helps individuals who need substance use disorder treatment get the physical as well as psychological support they need.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Therapists often use cognitive behavioral therapy in Minnesota to treat substance use disorders because it can help clients quickly identify challenges and ways to cope with them. Its structured, specific methods require fewer sessions than other types of therapy.

Dialectical behavior therapy focuses on four skills: emotional regulation, mindfulness, acceptance and distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Treatment involves individual sessions, as well as group sessions where you can start applying the skills you learn.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Qualified therapists in Minnesota offer individual therapy to men and women so they can receive customized care tailored to their needs. Your therapist works to understand your unique circumstances and provide you with targeted interventions and coping skills essential for long term recovery.

When conducting motivational interviewing in Minnesota, the interviewer encourages clients to discuss their reasons for making changes and their need for change in their lives. The interviewer's role is to listen and reflect, to evoke conversation about commitment to change.

Trauma therapy helps you understand and manage your mental, emotional, and physical responses to trauma. Using therapeutic interventions, you learn to reframe the experience, which in turn reduces your anxiety and helps you regain control over your life.

Couples therapy in Minnesota can help you understand yourself and your partner better and identify the issues causing stress in the relationship. From finances to addiction to children, you'll learn skills to deal with various stressors and strengthen your relationship.

Families in Minnesota use family therapy to understand the roles they play in addiction. Each member plays a role and contributes to a pattern of behavior. Families learn to interact in healthier ways that support each other and contribute to their loved one's journey to recovery.

For a successful recovery, life skills training is key. That's why rehab programs in Minnesota include training in social skills, self care, time management, financial management, and other daily life skills. By growing in these areas, you'll gain tools that allow you to navigate challenges and avoid relapse.

Nicotine replacement therapy in Minnesota addresses physical dependence on nicotine. Paired with support systems to address the psychological aspects of dependence, they can be an effective tool to help you quit smoking. Options include nasal sprays, inhalers, gum, and lozenges.

In January I did the short term program and I've been to so many other treatments this was by far the best one. The gym is close to the best part but also it's some what about god and spirituality the long term is really about and I feel what's been missing is a connection with the lord. Highly highly recommend this place. It works if you work it!

This place is absolute trash right now in 2025. In the short term program (which u have to do before entering long term) things are a mess. In my couple weeks there they ran me out of my meds 4 times. Their programming is trash. Its elementary and minimal so that the counselors dont have to put in any work. The food is garbage which sux for treatment, u usually can count on eating well in treatment. The clientele also blows. Alot of city/ghetto trash and that makes for a very loud and immature group of guys. And there is no place to retreat to for quiet space other than your shared bedroom. Which I was placed in one of their handful of tiny rooms that they still insisted on having two clients in. The room was often 78-84 degrees which made it difficult to sleep or be comfortable. The biggest thing was how they dragged their feet on everything. On top of the being out of meds, i had made two simple requests to my counselor, Paige, and neither got addressed in the time I was there. By the time she contacted the CPRS they contract with ( after 2 weeks of nagging her) to go retrieve my personal belongings, they had gotten thrown away leaving me now only owning the clothes on my back, my phone, and my wallet. On a side note she is also the most incompetent counselor I have seen in several years of treatment and battling addiction. She has no experience with battling addiction herself and she often shames clients for wanting to mend their relationships with their children. Due to her father being an addict and them not having a good relationship since he got sober. Its a very weird and uncomfortable dynamic she tries to insert into group anytime she can. Like I said, unfortunately I have been in this battle of trying to stay sober for 4 years now and that has included several treatments. Teen Challenge short term in Rochester is by far the worst one I have been to. And dont bother trying to address anything with the program director Don. He has an arrogant attitude and in a place that promotes God, Don actually thinks he is God and disregards Doctors orders and illegally disposes of peoples medications that they paid for rather than returning them to the client upon discharge. This program IS NOT what Teen Challenge stands for. Other locations have alot better standard of care and arent as dysfunctional as Rochester. I will applaud the Recovery Coaches and their nursing though. They did a great job and despite all the other shortcomings of the program tried to do right.

While this place isn’t perfect, some of the 1-star reviews do raise valid points. It appears that some reviewers might have been friends or family of individuals associated with the facility. Initially, I hesitated to come here due to these reviews. However, truth be told, I arrived at this facility feeling completely broken, and the staff supported me through it with an unparalleled level of love and care. Recovery and treatment are incredibly challenging, and I often voiced my concerns to my family during my time here. Despite the difficulties, the staff remained steadfast in their support. I completed the short-term program six months ago, and I continue to reflect on and appreciate the dedication of the staff daily. Since leaving the program, friends from my gym who knew me before my addiction have commented on my newfound joy and positivity, which I attribute to the transformative impact of this program.
