About BPSR Vista Clinic

MHS - BPSR Vista Clinic, located in Vista, California, offers alcohol and drug rehab services to men and women seeking recovery. They also provide treatment to those who are living with dual diagnosis. Services are available through residential and intensive outpatient programs (IOP).

The residential program is for those who need around-the-clock supervision. Individuals are encouraged to participate in their recovery and stay focused on laying a foundation that will support them once they move into outpatient care. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, education on STDs, life skills classes, and peer support services are provided. Clients ordered to participate in treatment from the court system are also welcome at this facility.

The intensive outpatient program meets three times per week for three hours at a time. Individuals engage in a personalized treatment program that takes into consideration their current areas of challenge. Clients are assigned a counselor, participate in process groups, develop a relapse prevention plan, and practice implementing their recovery skills in daily life.

After a client completes the intensive outpatient program, they are encouraged to continue a maintenance-style treatment program to maintain their recovery long-term. This often takes the form of self-help groups, alumni groups, or ongoing therapy.

MHS – BPSR Vista Clinic accepts most insurance plans, including Amerigroup, Anthem, Beacon, Magellan, and ComPsych. Out of network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage with your provider prior to starting treatment.

Turned my schizophrenic son away after he was scheduled for appointment for meds. Provider was out. Told him to find his shot elsewhere as they are booked up for the next few weeks. Made no effort to assist him find another facility nor would they make a phone call to refer him somewhere else. I spoke with Program Manager and nurse both couldn t care less and were surly as well. My husband is a physician and I am a social worker. They had a moral, ethical and legal responsibility to provide treatment or arrange for him to get it somewhere else in a timely manner. Horrible! And, they were aware that we are moving out-of-state in two weeks!

Staff is apathetic. From the receptionist, to the office manager and even the provider! Only one nurse and one therapist are kind and friendly. Everyone else, needs improvement!

This place is a joke. During the intake I was asked are you just looking for drugs? As if seeking help with my mental health was akin to being a junkie. Then I find out they actually allow a nurse practitioner to write prescriptions without a real Psychiatrist present. I needed a basic form filled out by said nurse practitioner and she simply refused to fill it out. Then no matter what I told her about my problems she just said I m doing better so she could act like she was helping my case. When I confronted another worker there about the situation all they would say was that s how we get our funding. Private companies like this one masquerading as proper places for mental health treatment provide a perfect example of the worst aspect of our modern healthcare system, I.e., their only real concern is getting their public funding so they can keep their jobs. I wish 0 stars was possible.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I wish I could rate lower. Was referred here by the Suicide Lifeline. No one monitors their phone line, so don't even bother calling. Called about 10 times and left 5 Voice-mails over 4 hours. Finally just decided to go there. Their door is locked, rang bell for assistance. I stood there for 5 minutes knocking and ringing their bell until they got so annoyed they decided to answer. Their receptionist was VERY rude in telling me she had attempted to call me. Even more so when I showed her I had not a single missed call. I'm lucky my reaction was rage. If I was a gentler person, I would be dead now.

Don t fall for mental health services, I m so sorry to disappoint you but it s all a big scam to take your insurance money. Most clinic just want you to rely on meds when your mentally I ll because they want to make money.Psychology/psychologist are great for finding the diagnosis but they will lie to you that you need meds/therapy forever to stay well. More like miserable and dependent on STUFF THAT ISN T REAL LONG TERM. Better to just find natural ways to be happier and healthier like fitness, nutrition, career building and a small support group. Then slowly pass it on little by little is an amazing feel .
