I came here only bc I didn't have enough gas to get down to the urgent care in Davenport and all the urgent cares in Clinton requires you to pay at least $100 just to be seen. I have a UTI that was untreated bc I couldn't afford another trip to the urgent care and it went from bad to worse. Around 4am today while I was at work, my legs felt like they were on fire and like they were being crushed. The pain is so bad it hurts to walk/stand. Dr. Chen was my doctor (the only one there) and from the moment he walked in the room up until he left, he was completely dismissive of what I was saying. I was telling him about my legs and he said that "tight jeans can cause pressure on the nerves in your legs". My pants look tight, but they aren't. I've been wearing pants like this since I was 18 and never had an issue. Like bruh, I'm not risking complete financial ruin just for you to tell me that my pants are too fking tight. When he came back, all he told me was that my urine came back "slightly" abnormal and that I was getting antibiotics. That's it. That's literally all he said. Didn't even tell me it was a UTI. The nurse, Emma, is the one who told me it was a UTI bc at that point, I was just crying, confused, and really pissed off. What kind of doctor is so cold and dismissive that they don't even tell you your diagnosis??? I will NEVER come back here. I will die before I ever step foot in there again. The only positive and nice thing I have to say is that the nurse, Emma, was so kind and caring. I really appreciated having her. I wish more people were like her. Nurses are definitely essential and deserve to paid more than they are. The healthcare system in this country is a fking joke and a lot of doctors need sensitivity training bc this isn't how you treat your patients.

Came in by ambulance unable to stay awake, and was poked and pushed and shaken and pushed to provide urine, I couldn't go, there were 2 nurses in the room, loudly saying how badly doc needed it. That i "had 1.5 liters od fluid so yes you can go"Made me do a cath catch, where I was told "your fine" when it hurt. Still no clue the big deal. Doc comes in says drug screen only showed thc..."but who knows with those tests" but forced me to give a sample and refused to disclose why beforehand when asked.lJust to find out 6 DAYS LATER I had covid. Which would also explain the extreme fatigue. They made sure to bully me into a drug screen, because he was SO sure!!!!. And they only had to swab me.Then had to walk 40 min in the 40 degrees weather, declined to do psych referral for anxiety because I was "already discharged" I ended up in inpatient later that day for 6 days infecting at least 4 others.

Accepted Insurance

Mercy Clinton works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Started going there for wound care on my feet. I was referred to go there to see Dr Nickles, who was whom I was wanting to see because of all the good things that I heard about him from a colleague of mine.I was told that he was not available, but Dr Lynch could see me within a couple of days. With the wounds that I had, I didn't have much choice on it. They never did ask me for my medical records from my previous podiatrist. And on my second visit, Dr Lynch did not listen to me when I told her that the medication that she prescribed me made my toe inflamed, which is why I had to stop using it. She immediately told me; "How about you just do what I tell you to do because I'm the doctor".Just because you're a doctor does not mean that you know everything; she didn't believe anything that I had to say, and treated me like I was an idiot. An ego like that is the best way to lose patients. I gave her another chance, and nothing changed. I went today, and then found out just how rude the nurses even are. After Dr Lynch got done with me, I told the nurse about my previous experience with Dr Lynch the other week and how she didn't listen to me and didn't care about the fact that my toe had gotten inflamed because of medication that she prescribed to me. And the nurse told me that it's my choice if I don't want to listen, but they'll stop treating me if I don't. Then the receptionist (who was the only kind one there) came in and asked me a question about a scheduling for an appointment. I told her I had to look at my schedule. So I pulled out my phone and started looking at my schedule, and that was when the nurse turned around asked me if I needed help, I said no, and she told me; "I have other people that need to use this room and I have to get it cleaned up, so you have to leave now". Yeah, no. I am the current patient in this room. I am paying you people to help me. And ever since day one all of you have treated extremely rude with a doctor that has the ego the size of Mount Everest. I will not be going back there again. But now I have huge hospital bills from them for them treating me like I was nothing.I do not know about any of the other staff that work for this hospital, but the ones that I was obligated to deal with do not care about their patients. They get you in, they voice their opinion without listening to you, they chastise you for speaking and cut you off, and then push you out when it's done as if you're nothing.

Went in because I ve been having severe chest pain and migraines for days.. came in waited hours to be seen while other people who came in after me were in and out. Sat there in pain and overheard an employee say the ER wasn t even busy. So why was I not getting helped. Can t even begin to explain my sadness and disappointment with this place. Not to mention I ll get a bill in the mail even tho I wasn t seen or treated. Do better healthcare or shut down that god awful hospital. We re all doomed if we don t get improvements on patient care. I had to drive myself a half over away to be seen at genesis in Dewitt and didn t even have to wait an hour to be seen and their waiting room was more packed then mercy

Got registered and right in. Staff up front are always so pleasant. I did have to wait almost an hour for my MRI appt which sucked (I get anxiety thinking of all the things I could be doing instead of wasting time), but by the time I left, the friendliness of the staff took my anxiety away and I left with a smile.
