On a conditional discharge from the hospital now with 6 months left. They placed me on med management for basic antidepressants and I've had to wait on average 30-60 minutes every day for meds in the 1555 elm st facility. Staff is very incompetent and borderline hostile.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

They don't seem to have any focus on bringing wellness to the people that need it. The doctors here are insensitive, uncaring and unprofessional. You all better go somewhere else.

So far for my severely depressed teen its only issue is timing: It takes a while to get set up with a team. However, mental health providers are in VERY short supply everywhere these days especially since COVID, so I tend to believe that is inevitable. Now that the team is in place (a therapist, a DBT therapist and a psychiatric NP), my teen is very happy with all of them, which is great. In fact my teen didn't even want to move on from the temporary therapist who was great too.

I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was not good.I had to switch psychiatrists a few different times. One left the place and the new one said she wouldn t have suggested the medication they had me try. I had such bad reactions to it I quit the medications all together and said I was done with them. I think this place mostly encourages the use of medication because they don t really do any real work with you.I had an appointment with them to help me sign up for state insurance. The woman who booked the appointment wasn t there that day and the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. They weren t prepared and had me sign BLANK DOCUMENTS while being mean the entire time.I didn t feel like I was given any suggestions on how to cope with anything with my therapist. Sessions more felt like I was venting and getting yeah that s hard as responses and I started dreading them. I tried it for about a year or around that. When I expressed to my therapist I didn t feel I was making progress, she acknowledged that but things never changed. I tried to change therapists and the response I got from them was shocking. The voicemails from Allie blamed me and wouldn t let me switch, so I decided to leave. I genuinely would never suggest this place which is sad because I d love to be able to have faith in this program, but after the other reviews I read I felt I wasn t alone in my experience.

Absolutely terrible! Can't get ahold of your therapist in any way. No reminders about appointments. Don't see a portal. These people need to get real and really want to help their patients.

The largest city in the state can only take 2 people per day as a walk in Monday and Wednesdays, scheduled appointments would solve this but I don't think they want to help people. It's either complete incompetence or they are going along with what they are told from the higher ups, continue to add to the chaos and destroy America. This isn't normal and I don't understand how anyone working here couldn't be embarrassed with themselves for being so worthless..it's probably best they would most likely make me a medication guinea pig and end up with more problems because they don't know what TF they're doing, what a joke.

The only good thing I have to say is that they take state insurance. Extremely unprofessional, disorganized and dishonest. With the support of a supervisor, a therapist falsified information in a court document. I work in mental health care and would not let anyone I care about seek services there after seeing the way a loved one was treated, which is sad because we desperately need mental health care access, now more than ever before. Tread carefully.

Whoever runs the medication refill voicemail just straight up does not do their job. I have been calling for a refill on my medication since last week, still nothing sent to my pharmacy. I ve called 4 times now, spoke with someone at the front desk and they said oh wow yeah you are overdue now obviously because I took my last dose today. She cold transferred me to a voicemail with no name attached. I still left a voicemail and have not gotten any answers and now I am going without medication, this is not even the first or second time this has happened. In 2021 I went without a medication for MONTHS because she apparently didn t feel like telling my provider to send in refills. This was not a medication you can just stop cold turkey either. I ve complained to management multiple times about the medication refill person dropping the ball and causing lapses in therapy and it s straight up unacceptable and dangerous. These are mental health medications, for some folks that literally means life or death. I m tired of being stressed to the point of panic attacks when I need refills because of the real possibility that I ll have to go without because she literally just doesn t do her job. I don t know what else I can do at this point besides contacting the state board and filing a complaint against her.

I called and spoke with Ivy she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had to call in 3 times just to get her name. I was nothing but polite but when I'd ask for a name of who I was speaking with she would just hang up as soon as I asked. She stated that regardless of my referal there way no one there I could hold for or speak to.
