My 6 year old son has been going to occupational therapy for some time now. We are beyond thankful for his therapist, Ashley Sharp. She has welcomed us with open arms since the first appointment. She is always so very patient with my son (he was diagnosed with ADHD and he is also on the spectrum.) He looks forward to getting to work with her every week. It's easy to see how passionate she is about helping her patients better themselves. She has truly made a difference in his life. 10/10 recommend Occupational Therapy at McCurtain Memorial Hospital!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Oklahoma is highly recommended for those beginning recovery. As your body detoxes, withdrawal from substances such as alcohol, benzos, and opiates can cause severe physical symptoms. Health risks include seizures, hallucinations, heart palpitations, and severe dehydration. A clinical setting offers 24/7 medical care to treat these symptoms and make the detox process more comfortable.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment in which you can confront and address the emotional and physical impacts of traumatic events. Your therapist helps you understand your emotional and physical responses and develop healthier coping skills, which lowers your anxiety level and provides you with greater self confidence.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Using recreational therapy in Oklahoma within a drug and alcohol addiction treatment program helps you find joy and purpose within healthy activities. These could include gardening, group games, team sports, and swimming. These activities promote relaxation and social interaction, which are crucial to sustain long term recovery.

I gave birth here and compared to the hospitals in California, the staff here are way more compassionate. The labor and delivery ladies were amazing. The only complaint I have is the shower still had a clump of hair in it.

While we were staying in Hochatown my daughter fell off the bed and busted her chin open. We drove to the ER, checked in around 4:15AM. We were greeted with a smile and they checked us in. Very soon after we were called back. The nurses and physicians were very nice and easy to work with. They stitched up her chin and got us on our way by 5:20AM. Very thankful for their tender care for our daughter.

My daughter was seen at this facility on June 29th for a laceration on her leg while we were on vacation. All of the clinics were closed so our only option was to drive to this ER. We got checked in ok but the waiting room had crickets all over the floor. When the nurse called us back to the room the doctor was sitting in the chair, next to the bed with one leg propped up on the other, waiting on us. This was very unprofessional to see but we were just concerned about getting our daughter the proper treatment she needed. The doctor looked at her wound and said she would need 4 staples. He proceeded to squeeze a solution onto her wound with some gauze. We made sure to tell him that this happened when she was in the creek and he did not seem concerned that her wound needed to be flushed out to make sure any unwanted particles would be removed. After this he immediately proceeded to apply 4 staples in her leg without any numbing cream or telling her what was about to happen. When the doctor was done, I asked him if she needed antibiotics since she was in a creek and he told me no unless she started having drainage, pain, or redness. I don t feel this was right because he didn t even flush the wound before stapling it and creeks have so many microorganisms and bacteria. Antibiotics should have been given to prevent a bad infection according to her primary doctor. My daughter was super strong during this but had to squeeze my hand to get through it. After the doctor and nurse left the room, she started crying. When we left the hospital, she was very upset and traumatized after this event. This was the worst experience we have ever had at a hospital and to not have any concern about a child is very disappointing. When we got home from vacation, we had to spend even more money seeing her PCP to get her antibiotics when this could have been done at the time of our visit. To top it off we were mailed an outrageous bill for very poor care.I made a formal complaint with the Chief Executive Officer on July 3rd with no response still. On July 15th I tried to call and follow up on my complaint and was only able to leave a voicemail. I also sent an email directly to the Chief Executive Officer on July 15th explaining the incident again and still have not received a reply to either 3 complaints.I will be filing a complaint with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. This hospital need to be investigated for their negligence and lack of compassion.

Amanda, First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the distressing experience you and your daughter had during your visit to our hospital. I understand how frightening it can be when a loved one requires urgent care, especially when far from home, and I m deeply sorry that our care did not meet expectations. I also want to apologize for the delay in responding to your concerns. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we take these matters very seriously. The issues you ve raised regarding the cleanliness of our waiting room, the professionalism of our staff, and the treatment provided are unacceptable and do not align with the standards we strive to uphold. We are reaching out to our CEO this morning to ensure that your email has been received and that your concerns are being addressed. Please know that we are fully committed to reviewing your complaint thoroughly, and will personally ensure that our leadership team is aware of your situation. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are committed to making things right!

My grandmother and mother both had service there, paid in full at time of visits. MMH sent expired checks when it was tried to be rectified they were promised new checks would be issued immediately, never saw new checks, but they sent letters asking why the checks weren't cashed 6 months after they went up there with the issue.

Response from the owner5 months ago
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by this situation. We will be looking into this matter immediately to ensure it is resolved as quickly as possible. Your grandmother and mother s experiences are important to us, and we are committed to making things right. With that we will need contact information for your grandmother and mother. You are more than welcome to send this to our Business Office director directly by emailing cole.jackson@mmhok.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Had a middle of the night visit for our 1 year old daughter on our last day in the Broken Bow/Hochatown area- never ideal, but allsaid and done we were in and out in just about 2 hours flat. The place is old and dirty, bugs everywhere (midges, moths and grasshoppers). BUT the staff was very friendly, professional, kind and caring. All things you want when you take your baby to any dr. but especially one in the middle of the night in a part of the country you are unfamiliar with. Set appropriate expectations, treat others with respect and you will receive the same in return. Over all my rating is a 3 because it was fine wouldn t choose it to be my home hospital, but also didn t have a bad experience. The cleanliness was a bit concerning, but i saw the nurses turning over rooms quickly and they were doing their best!

Response from the owner8 months ago
Hi Angela! First we would like to say we truly hope your daughter is better! We are so thankful for you guys trusting us with your care at our small rural hospital. Of course we will get the cleanliness concerns over to our environmental services team to be addressed. Again, thank you for trusting MMH with your daughter s care.
