Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP is offered to individuals who need a higher level of care. Treatment usually lasts 3-5 weeks and ranges from 9-19 hours of therapy and education each week. Treatment is tailored to the unique needs of the client.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. OP is offered to individuals who have been diagnosed with a Substance Abuse Disorder. Treatment is individualized and lasts approximately 2-4 weeks with a minimum of 9 hours of therapy and education.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. For individuals deemed by the clinical staff to require residential treatment, coordination of an appropriate treatment facility and bed dates are obtained.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Choosing a drug rehab in South Carolina helps you overcome drug dependency, learn how to manage cravings, and obtain the tools needed to prevent relapse. This is accomplished through individualized treatment that addresses a full spectrum of physical, social, and emotional needs.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Using the Fatal Vision Goggles, a golf cart and a few strategically placed cones, Marines and Sailors are given the opportunity to be “under the influence” in a controlled environment to experience the impact of alcohol and/or drugs on their brain. Participants will take part in activities that test their depth perception, vision and balance. Other experiential learning activities utilizing PMO or local law enforcement are available upon request.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

A place that builds Marines can only get 5 stars and no less. I came here and transformed into a Devil Dog in 2001, and today, over 20 years later, my son marched across the same parade deck I did. You can't even describe how proud I am.Even though I was a Marine, I've never visited MCRD to just look around. So to have my son show me the sites was quite a treat!! Beautiful palm trees and scenic marsh lands surround the entire area, so there's plenty to photograph.Graduation Day was just as expected. Over 1000 people poured in, and as always, Parris Island was prepared. Everything was organized and timely. If you send a loved one here, just know that there is no need to worry. They will be in good hands and will return much differently than how he/she departed. A Marine!!

First time visiting today with my husband. He attended basic training here dare I saw 40+ years ago.Our time in the visitor center was wonderful. We were greeted by active duty personnel who chatted with us like we were old friends. We popped over to the museum on base. It too was amazing. I had no idea how much history USMC has to be proud of. Husband toured quietly with a nod and smile. Reflecting I m sure. I m proud I was able to experience his home coming of sorts. Semper FiReturn ? Definitely

Came for family day and graduation for our 3rd Battalion, India Company, 3045 Platoon Marine! Well organized and definitely worth arriving on time to events to get close parking. Otherwise, you will be walking or riding the tram.

Arriving at night to this island after a long time traveling makes you a bit groggy, so when you arrive it feels like you are running back and forth, despite remembering the fact that you didn't bring any luggage. Better call home and tell them I made it, on second thought, think i should just leave a message. It was such a blur getting to my room, it felt like I was up for days, just waiting in lines. I had only intended on being there for a week, but they insisted that I stay longer! Meals, clothes, exercise routines, classroom training, and weekly hikes were all included! They even dressed me up with some amazing clothes and took and gave me my picture to show how awesome this place is! I highly recommend a visit!!Not for the faint of heart, though..P.S. Parris Island has the best sunrises and sunsets ever! SF

I currently have a significant other in boot camp, and we've been sending each other letters, but I can't comprehend how bizarre their letter system is. Our letters are being received to us a week after we sent them to each other. I like to track my letters to see if my significant other recives them. I've noticed that when I sent my significant other both handwritten letters and typed up letters, the tracking on the letters says it's delivered. But my significant other receives the letters longer than its delivery date. It causes an unnecessary amount of worrisome. Please fix this system or problem.
