Without Mathers team support, I never would have been able to get off opiates and no longer live in a state like an emotional zombie, trapped deadness. If you want to straighten up, go see them no judgement just help

This is seriously the most welcoming center affiliated with recovery that I have ever encountered. Other inpatient / outpatient facilities always have some great staff members and a handful that should choose a different profession. Not the case here! Every single staff member treats you kindly and without prejudice. The counselors take the time to listen to and help you navigate the process. I was so nervous initially and they made me feel so welcome and comfortable, I would recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with opiate addiction. Shoutout to Fardis, you ROCK!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment so you can address a traumatic experience. Your therapist helps guide you to understand your emotional, mental, and physical responses while developing healthier coping skills. This helps to improve your emotional resilience and ability to function in the community.

The use of nicotine replacement therapy in Illinois supplies your body with a small, controlled dose of nicotine without exposing it to the other harmful chemicals in cigarettes. This dose reduces withdrawal and satisfies cravings, so you can wean yourself off nicotine use.

Share about how I feel about my clinic. I m someone that the methadone worked for. It worked that very 1st day, and it also took away the drink. I used to dance a drink once in a while. Not anymore. 1 day they will find out it s works for so many other addictions. Not just opiates.Today I m being tapered off my methadone. Today my life is very different. I m sober. My friends and family are sober. I surround myself with positivity and sober folks. They are my friends and made great connections. My taper is not bad. I have a few mos left to go but it s been a lot more pleasant than it has been before. These doctors know what they re doing and are very upfront about the entire process. I can ask my doctor anything and she always has an educated answer for me. She s very satisfying. She s will smart and able to make you understand why she s doing it. I trust in her. I trust in my nurses, & my counselor. Mathers clinic is a remarkable place. Only until I wanted the help, they were right there to catch me and save me. I m not kidding about any of this. These people are almost just as important as family. We have the best employees here and it matters. That matters if your successful or not is all up to you. These people will help you. I highly recommend Mathers Clinic hands down.

I've been a client of Mather's for several years.During both of my pregnancies.MAT has truly been a lifesaver. never in 20 years of addiction. Have I been able to get multiple calendar years clean. Joe my counselor has been always willing to help me and he always make sure to check in with me. I'd recommend Mathers over other local medicated assisted treatment programs.

I m updating my old review again. I m cautiously hopeful that things are improving with Mathers. It seemed like the office was full of staff the last time I was there. And that people that I interacted with were all professional, and everything was good. The bathroom smells bad and the overall appearance of the office is kind of like being in a bad neighborhood, or a two star hotel.I have been happy with my doctor. She s a little impatient at times, but I m sure it gets old hearing the same old thing over and over again. On the other hand, if it s our job, then we need to Be patient with tedious people. I don t like to think of myself as being tedious, but I m giving her the benefit of the doubt. The problem never was with my doctor it was with the front desk staff, Who in my experience will not return any phone call if you leave a voicemail. Even if it s urgent And you leave multiple messages, so I recommend not doing that. If you can t speak with an individual, just call back. Plus give a follow up call to make sure whatever you were calling about the first place gets done. One more thing I recommend if you re coming from another state as I did, you just need to know that things are different. It was much more difficult for me here. I was not used to being treated in such a way and Having to come in so often. In California, I saw my doctor twice a year for years and never did a UA. It was just not a problem. Plan ahead, of course. If you re going to need a refill, don t count on it being done as you think it s going to be so give yourself a little extra time To have issues. It can take a 48 to 72 hours to call in a refill and it usually does take 48 hours at least. If this falls on the weekend, then you re looking at a five day delay. There doesn t seem to be a lot of accountability. If someone doesn t return your call or refill your prescription, there s not going to be someone else who cares about that. I m Not saying anything bad about my current doctor. This is just my overall experience over the last 3 1/2 or four years. But like I said, I am cautiously optimistic that things are improving here. And now that I am very Careful and I ve learned the hard way about all the things that can go wrong, I can work with this. Maybe my review will help another new person Minimize unexpected problems.

I have been a patient of Mathers for about 4 years I think, maybe a little more. I love the Drs. I love Christina K, she makes me feel that she actually cares and THINKS about my care instead of getting me in & out and pumping me full of Rxs. I love Dr Brody. Love love love her. She is on the recovery side but I see her and love talking with her and feel like we ve known each other for years. I do NOT however love Mathers billing. It s a MESS. Brie is not pleasant and has never returned a call back or email request in 5 months that I have asked for or even her own coworkers have asked of her. Katie, however, is WONDERFUL. I think she just has to work with a terrible system but has customer service skills that outshine the horrible billing system. Make sure you look at your bills and good luck trying to ask for clarification from Brie. You re better off just asking the pleasant front desk girls to help. They answered a simply question in 5 min that Brie never bothered to answer in 5 months and to this day still have never heard from her. Overall, the Drs at Mathers are wonderful. Definitely would recommend the ones I ve seen and remember, YOU are worth it & you are NOT alone. :)
