My spouse was recently in a serious car accident. The care he received in the ER was very good - they were friendly, thorough, and kept me informed. When going up to the floor, the care was equally as good, an example is when the RN was taking his history, it was more like a conversation with an appropriate amount of time and eye contact (vs. putting info into a computer and not even looking at the patient). I appreciate MLH and trust them for our family's care 100%.

When my loved one died, she had a DNR and was in the ICU on morphine, in a coma after multiple heart attacks. It was expected she would pass, but they couldn t tell us how long it might take, possibly even months. Hard decisions were being made.We were never made aware of the call button on her bed, we were just told to come get them when she passed or took a turn for the worse so they could administer pain meds. We didn t want her to suffer OR struggle with her breathing (they told us this was an possibility) and so I went to go get the nurse as directed, and nobody could be found. When we pushed the call button on the wall, we were berated because it was basically a crash alarm and not meant for patients with a DNR . We were never told otherwise or explained what the functions of any buttons were. I feel like we were lucky she didn t suffer more during her passing.I just want to share my experience. I really don t blame the nurses. But maybe have a more clear label on buttons and make sure your patients know what the regular call button is vs the emergency one. You might see it every day, but we ve never had to use one in our life.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When loved ones stage a drug intervention in Nebraska, the goal is not to gang up on the individual and make them feel attacked. The aim is to make them feel cared for and to present a solid plan for getting them the treatment they need. This process often includes intervention services. These professionals can provide support for planning and carrying out the intervention and guidance for appropriate treatment for the individual and family members.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Within trauma therapy, you're able to work through the memories of a traumatic event within a safe and supportive environment. Your therapist will guide you to develop healthy coping mechanisms that reduce the emotional impact of the trauma and improve your overall well being.

Couples therapy in Nebraska often focuses on one specific matter of concern. It is usually short term, with the goal of addressing the main issue and learning how to manage it. The focus might be addiction, finances, children, or any other challenge that is putting stress on the relationship.

Signs that you have become dependent on nicotine include smoking more than one pack a day, smoking within five minutes of waking up, and smoking to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Fortunately, nicotine replacement therapy in Nebraska can help you break this dependence and work toward a nicotine free lifestyle.

Therapists in Nebraska offer family therapy to help facilitate discussions about how addiction is a disease and can affect the entire family. This approach fosters empathy between family members and helps to reduce blame. This collective effort supports recovery and reduces negative behaviors within the family unit.

They care more about the paychecks than the welfare of the patients, the emergency room is a real shame, the waiting times are eternal, they forced me to spend hours suffering pain without any medical attention.

Crazy, entered via ER on 10/8 today they send me a bill - Pay Now & the billing dept hasnt even billed my Insurance Provider. I call to get it straighten out & 1st person is new, so transfers me to Lynn (Woods), i belueve, only could leave message & the message was cut off before i could leave any contact info! Mary Lanning has never been my hospital of choice, but because i came via ambulance i had no choice of which hospital i could go to. Beyond frustrated! Everything i felt about Mary Lanning negatively is amplified 10 times! Disgusting Business Management & Billing Techniques! I dont even want to give them one star! Their patients are not their top priority- obviously money is their #1 concern proven by their billing method - send me the bill (its only been 8 days since i entered the ER), not bill my Insurance Company! Shame On you Mary Lanning Billing!

ER care is Horrible. They all stand around doing nothing while a patient suffers in horrible pain for almost 2 hours with no care. When hospitalized the staff have no concept of pain control. They barely check if you are still alive. Drive to Grand Island or drive to Lincoln like we do now. We've talked to patient advocate several times and nothing every changes

I was patient for four days to undergo cancer surgery. The medical team, nurses, aides, janitors, food service, lab techs, were exceptional. They were caring and communicate/explained every detail to me and my wife. They became our cheerleaders yet very professional. Because of them I know I can, and I will, beat cancer.
