alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Do NOT trust them with the care of your loved ones. I visited my family member and was with her for a little over 4 hours. During my visit Not one nurse checked on us. They were rude whenever I asked for anything. I asked that they change her and it took them over an hour just to move her from the activity room to her own room. The nurse was going to leave my mother in the hallway for 30 minutes because there was a shift change . After she had already been sitting in her own waste for quite some time. They also skipped her meals because she wasn t in her room at lunch time. This place is poorly ran. It s unclean. It s no wonder they had a Covid outbreak. The staff isn t friendly other than Ms Ellen who is phenomenal!!

Facility in COVID-19 outbreak status, yet some employees and all visitors are wearing no mask. When I asked for a mask, was told by receptionist that I don t need a mask. When asked again, was told no masks are available or needed for visitors. I left the facility.

So I gave a five star review because my dad was recently here. I took many things into consideration for this review. Level of provided service, overall experience as a visitor, staff, very important I make mention of the staff. The entire staff was amazing. From his social workers, one being Pamela, to the therapy team, medicine, back desk staff, front desk staff, nurses. This experience was a very good one, in fact I m in the process of getting my uncle transferred here. I also have an aunt that is currently here. To the staff if you are reading this keep doing what you re doing! Also please forgive me for not remembering your names. You are all amazing.

From my initial encounter with the dayshift receptionist, to Stephanie the admissions manager to all of the staff, I have been very impressed. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and met me with the most wonderful smiles. In short, Autumn Lake in Laurel has the overall best customer service I have encountered ANYWHERE. ( This is coming from a retired nurse who worked from 1979-2022 in manydifferent areas of the hospital.). The place is clean and the food is presented nicely.

My brother and I are primary caregivers for my Mom who has Alzheimer's dementia. We were so nervous about her going into respite care for 5 days but when I popped in for a visit today all my worries fell away. My Mom was clean, happy, alert and hanging out at the nurses station. She (and we) really like the staff there. The staff is courteous and you can tell they work hard and really care about the patients. Nurse Lydia and Bryon (the aid) were her caregivers that day, they safeguarded my Mom from roaming (which was a big concern for us). I'm so grateful that the team at Autumn Lake were assigned by hospice to care for my Mom. We can't thank them enough, highly recommend!

This place is a train wreck! It took 45 minutes for the nurse to respond to the buzzer and the room was in front of the nurses station. The night supervisor is the most ignorant person there and tries to show her authority...she is laughable. The food is horrible. The staff also took most of my sister's personal belongings after she had passed away. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM!
