Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

They will take your social security check without permission and keep your mail. Be careful with this trash place.

When I first arrived it was a difficult adjustment. Getting used to have someone do everything for me and getting to know the nurses and the staff. Working to build my confidence and occupational therapy and physical therapy was my most achievement here. Now after a month and a half here at Autumn Lakes I'm ready to go home. I would like to thank the staff here at Autumn Lakes for all the help that they gave me during my stay a few other names are Natalie, Haley, Elizabeth, larry, Isaac, Selma, Erica, Devin, Jaron, Marcus, Alexis, MJ, Marie, Tola, Robin, Julianne, Ibraham, Sando. If I forgot to add anybody else please forgive me but because of all the above people I have the confidence that I need to carry on after my disability. I want to thank everybody here at Autumn Lakes for all the help and encouragement that they have given me. I would highly recommend Autumn Lakes at Patuxent River for Rehab to anyone I know and please just give them a chance and yourself.I would also like to update my review. When I left Autumn Lakes I was told that I could not take any of my medicines that I was taken. So I left there with no meds only prescriptions to be filled. It's been 3 days since I've had medicines and I would like to know what happened to those medicines when I left, were they thrown out just what happened to them because they were billed to my insurance company.Since leaving Autumn Lakes I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for the 14th, and was told that the rehab would still take me since it was already scheduled and a ride was requested. I have been trying to confirm this since Monday the 11th to no avail. They don't answer my calls so I don't know if they're coming to get me or not. This is a very disappointing experience for me after the good experience that I had while in rehab. Just watch yourself and confirm everything make sure everything is confirmed

Do NOT trust them with the care of your loved ones. I visited my family member and was with her for a little over 4 hours. During my visit Not one nurse checked on us. They were rude whenever I asked for anything. I asked that they change her and it took them over an hour just to move her from the activity room to her own room. The nurse was going to leave my mother in the hallway for 30 minutes because there was a shift change . After she had already been sitting in her own waste for quite some time. They also skipped her meals because she wasn t in her room at lunch time. This place is poorly ran. It s unclean. It s no wonder they had a Covid outbreak. The staff isn t friendly other than Ms Ellen who is phenomenal!!

Facility in COVID-19 outbreak status, yet some employees and all visitors are wearing no mask. When I asked for a mask, was told by receptionist that I don t need a mask. When asked again, was told no masks are available or needed for visitors. I left the facility.

So I gave a five star review because my dad was recently here. I took many things into consideration for this review. Level of provided service, overall experience as a visitor, staff, very important I make mention of the staff. The entire staff was amazing. From his social workers, one being Pamela, to the therapy team, medicine, back desk staff, front desk staff, nurses. This experience was a very good one, in fact I m in the process of getting my uncle transferred here. I also have an aunt that is currently here. To the staff if you are reading this keep doing what you re doing! Also please forgive me for not remembering your names. You are all amazing.

From my initial encounter with the dayshift receptionist, to Stephanie the admissions manager to all of the staff, I have been very impressed. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and met me with the most wonderful smiles. In short, Autumn Lake in Laurel has the overall best customer service I have encountered ANYWHERE. ( This is coming from a retired nurse who worked from 1979-2022 in manydifferent areas of the hospital.). The place is clean and the food is presented nicely.
