Accepted Insurance

Maricopa Medical Center – Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Communication between my social worker and I were poor. He hung up the phone more than one time while I called him, I am sure. Their negligence had no limits, and you still had to pay for the whole service, even if you didn't receive it as they promised you

I overdosed on an injection of Abilify loosing consciousness within 24 hours from Dr. Mostafa Sherazy. I had a traumatic brain injury days before first seeing him and he misdiagnosed me without doing any testing or evaluations. He is a terrible doctor and should have his license revoked. Worst doctor in Az. This place is hell and does not heal anyone. All the products they have for shampoo etc are toxic for the body. Send your loved ones anywhere else. If I wasn t financially comfortable I would have sued for damages.

I went to visit a friend yesterday around 6 pm, i brought her some food and clothes, at the reception the officer checked the items so at this point it was already checked,She was happy to see me so she hug me and she stayed close to me and kept on huggingReally it was like a brother to a sister hug nothing bad, that's when one of the nurses got very upset and confronted us saying we can do that and that she had to be far apart from me or she would end the visit, it was very upsetting to see how they miss treat my friend ,They don't treat patients with respect and they won't do their jobWe did what they wanted she was far a part, so we asked her if they could check her food before it got cold,They wouldn't do it , the nurse said that they were shorted stuff and they had to do other things more important,In reality they weren't doing much it really disappointed me how they treat my friend in front of me and how inhumane the stuff are!!When food it's a necessity for any human, sick or not sick!!I was there for almost a hr, and they never wanted to check her food so she could had dinner,When i left i told my friend to just go back to her room and tried to sleep,She was hungry so i really left disappointed and sad, and very upset,Because this supposed to be a place where they get help and instead they are torturing my friend,I really think someone needs to do a better job and take a look on their employees because , what i witnessed last night was abuse from the nurses to wards the patientsThe name of one of the nurses i believe was Sue, and other African American lady , unit 5Terrible i do not recommend this place for you love ones and this happens a day before Martin Luther King day

Clients are not commonly an active part of their stay, here. Openly languishing people asking for meds that they receive on some occasion and taken off with no recourse over the change.Clients with cognitive disabilities are not assisted quickly enough, leaving said clients to mentally fall apart in the environment, which can bring on episodes of frustration just out of a desire to be considered within their care plans. There are some staff members that were wonderful, simply because they didn't hold their "time in the profession" as a means to be neglectful, and instead used their compassion to help.I'm recovering from having stayed here...

I don't recommend this hospital for anybody. This place here does not include anybody in their planning of care. They do not let you talk to a doctor even when you are signed as a release of information when speaking with the head nurse and u have any concerns they tell You need to speak with the doctor every time. You ask a question and then when you ask to speak with the doctor they won't give you the number extension or the full name of the doctor they also have the worse social worker the social workers instead don't Communicate with family or friends they they lie and areVery disrespectful condescending. And do not plan with the family or friends. I don't think this place is for any type of better Mental health they instead make it worse then anything else I think they need more over sight this is one of the worse Facilities For impatient treatment in Mesa. They pretty much do what they want when they want. Regardless of any doctor's recommendations or any evaluations doesn't really matter. Because one of the evaluations that I received was saying that they denied the medical diagnosis. And they are state evaluators that did the diagnosis and they are vary Qualified but the doctors at valley wise went against their diagnosis and made Their own diagnosis they went against the original This place is just about how many heads they can fit in a program so that way they can make sure they get that federal money anThat's all it's about.

I see why this place has such a terrible reviews. I been trying to make apt and it's been nightmare. With three kinds migraine and can't hear vowels is really hard to be one phone and after so long I haven't gotten anywhere. I left messages and on website too. I go to one in chandler it's great but doesn't have mental health part. There are process but Ira crazy how unprofesssional this places is. They aren't understanding or give you other options. After just this much trouble it's not worth having so much stress and pain to just get apt. That's a wrong number thank you for wasting time. I had apt yesterday and called and never got called back so I'm giving up to see the doctor there. I will stay in chandler their organized and professional they don't lie and they call or mess when they can. It's crazy how people run a business we call over and over and still nothing but pain and experiencing due to having to call and set apt called again and was told doctor would call me back. I'm done. I gave more then enough months weeks and days.

This place is okay. What I find very weird is these grown adults have to ask for permission for EVERYTHING, even asking if they can have their snacks. This place is more like an adult daycare if anything. The nurses are very non communicating with each other. Most of them make up their own rules. In example, one said I couldn t bring a yogurt for my husband because it can have hidden drugs in it, but yet I can bring in a whole box of pizza? It s a circus here.
