Will never work at this location again. Had 18 residents. Mostly all of them was total. I didn t even have enough linen to provide care for them. Nurse kept stopping me from providing care for one resident to attend to another only because the family members was there. Nurse didn t help at all. She was on her phone the whole shift. A Staff wouldn t even spot me with the hoyer. I was like huh. Another gna that actually was doing her work stop to help me. This place is terribleI don t mind doing the work. Give me the supplies I need to do it. They didn t even have plastic bags . I was given four bags. I could have walk out. But my Conscience wouldn t allow me to do so. I won t be picking up any more shifts in this place.

This Autumn Lake facility has 4 handicap parking spaces. Then the remaining parking area is on a hill. Disabled/elderly visitors desperately need these parking spaces. Everytime I ve visited, 1-3 spaces have been taken by cars without handicap tags/handicap mirror placard. Several times, the facility has been made aware this however has done nothing to resolve this matter. After one complaint, a announcement was made, 2 employees moved their cars.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

...my grandmother has lived here, for 5 years, with hardly any problems until recently. When nepotism interferes with patient care, I cannot understand how it is allowed. My grandmother is 95 and she deserves peace of mind without being bullied by the roommate. I can't hold this any longer. My grandmother is 5 feet tall, if that, and she weighs about 102 pounds. If I took a guess, the roommate is 5 feet 8 inches tall, and she weighs 180 pounds. The administration, Steve Gelobe, is a bully and the fact that the roommate in my grandmother's room is the sister-in-law of the receptionist at this location, they will not move the roommate. It's obvious that my grandmother and the roommate don't match with personality and living space. Instead, I was told by the administrator, the family that complains, then THAT PERSON'S family member is moved, not the person causing the issues. The roommate unplugs my grandmother's TV because she wants the TV off when she goes to bed. Every time I visit, the next day, or the next 2 days, my grandmother's TV is unplugged. Even yesterday, 8.4.24, my grandmother and I were in her room and when the roommate walked by, she stops to look in the top drawer of my grandmother's dresser and she constantly unplugs the TV. Months ago, I've left a soda for my grandmother. I came back the next day, and I see the soda, which is now open and being consumed by the roommate.I understand that dementia is a bad situation for each person that has it but for Administration (Steve Gelobe) to make it seem as if im asking for something unreasonable is mindblowing.I've asked the roommate to please don't touch the TV and all she says is she didn't mean any harm. It's so ridiculous. The argument can't be , well the roommate has dementia. When her behavior is disruptive to the care and peace of mind of another person, another paying patient (which is my grandmother), it's not fair and I had to post this review to inform other families of what you can expect if your family ever has to stay at this location. You would think they would move the roommate to a room with someone else who likes the TV off.My grandmother says to me, why does she keep going in that drawer? It's upsetting for my grandmother and it hurts me to see she is upset.I've complained and I've put my concerns in writing to Autumn Lake and the Office of Health Care Quality for the State of Maryland and no one is willing to help. I visit my grandmother as often as possible to ensure no one will take advantage of her since the Administrator has no care or compassion to do what's right. The ice machine on this particular unit has been broken for 2 weeks or more and it's 90 degrees, in the middle of summer. That takes away from the staff because they have to go all the way downstairs to get ice, to put it in the freezer, for future use.And recently I've started my quest for potential Medicare fraud at this location because I took my grandmother to the Podiatrist only to be told that there was an issue with the billing because Medicare was already charged by a vendor that works for this company, yet, they don't treat her. I take her to all of her appointments. ?????If the bathroom has not been mopped or cleaned I will complain about that. The staff there in the service is unit they do try to do their best. But sometimes especially when they have high turnover or if it's a long weekend I have to voice my opinion to make sure that there's paper towels in the room to make sure there's toilet tissue in the room. The family of the roommate had the nerve to tell me that I need prayer. People really ought to be ashamed trying to give a guilt trip. If my grandmother were to rummage through her drawer. If my grandmother were to take her belongings. If my grandmother were to unplug her tv, then how would her family feel?it's so despicable.I know every comment here is true and factual because it's happening to me and my grandmother. So, if your family has to stay at this location, these are some of the factors you will encounter.

I was in Autumn Lake on Charles St. Towson for nearly a year. I had things stolen, very poor care( I often did see any staff or get meds for more than 7-8 hours )especially bad on weekends. Food was pretty bad, mostly carbs & I'm diabetic. I couldn't wait to leave. I got much better care in the hospital. It was better when it was Pro memedia. Got so much worse when Autumn Lake took over.

If I could give it zero stars i definitely would. My mom has been there for maybe 4 months and it has been absolutely HORRIBLE. She s a stroke survivor and had had brain surgery etc. she has fallen out the bed multiple MULTIPLE times and has called me and my sisters in pain screaming for help and for someone to come help her change her and no one will come they ll come in her room get smart with her and walk back out. I was on the phone with her for about and hour and 45 min and she cried for food water someone to come help her and fix her in the bed and no one has come. I m filing a law suit for neglect and malpractice and adult protective services for the abuse and neglect.
