My experience was back in November. My husband was brought in with an appendix which burst. The Dr Noursfar said I should call the family. I knew then it was a very serious situation. My husband has undying condition that complicated things. The nurses on that night was beyond expectation. They were so attentive. They knew once he went upstairs I didn't know who was taking him from the emergency room. They called the nurse upstairs and they introduced her to me. I felt so comfortable and eased my fears a little bit more. The surgery took 5 hours. Every time I went upstairs to the surgery unit the girls met me with a smile. Finally, they sent him downstairs. The nurses, Dr Noursfar deserve a gold star! My husband came out that surgery but the Dr saw something he thought we should get checked out and again. He was right. My husband had lung cancer and is in remission. He's not 100% out of the woods. We are doing immunotherapy. Again, I'm proud of our hospital and the people who work there! Thank you!

I made an appointment for primary care in October for this week, January. Nothing was said to me when booking my appointment. Today, 3 days before my appointment, I’m told I can’t be seen because they don’t have my previous records. There was no communication about this. Now, I’m going to be out of my maintenance medication because this office is too incompetent to communicate properly. They asked if I wanted to reschedule, NO! I’ve already been rescheduled twice by them for a ‘family emergency’. Now thanks to them I need to find another office that can actually handle patients properly. Absolute waste of my time, if I had gone with another office I probably would’ve been seen by now.

Shes in process of getting my 5 years worth of documents to my new Psychologist ( that i have been tryin to get for 8 months since leaving). also leaving 3 stars cause of the 5 years of good care I got from 2017 nov thur apirl 2022. Dr. Brian Still for the first two years amazing(he left) & dr. Delima for the last 2 years and half. ( also left)Once they moved over to 180 Academy Street it was all down hill. Do not come here for any anxiety or panick or ptsd they will not treat u with the right meds due to medication bias. Became very unporfessional and i would not recommend treatment for mental health from here. They don't care for their patients anymore they just make the desicions. Completely unporfessional. The new doctor they tried to give screamed at full volume at me one our 1st session i had to cliam her down. All because i disagreed w her said medication bias & that she was unporfessional! So scream at a 36 yr old women like i was a child i imdetaly left! Don't come here unless u need the simplest of health care. Oh and be up their behinds about your refills or they might not show up to ur pharmacist...

What!…..I can only give 5 stars! 🤔 I would give 10 stars if it was an option. I have been talking to my social worker on the phone for approximately two years now. I get a full 60 minute visit with her and it helps greatly. Early on I believe it was only a matter of a few days before they sent me up for my first appointment. Chelsea listens to me rambling on and on… And when I finally let her speak (LOL) she will come up with some good suggestions in order to help me, help myself. Therapy for me is a very slow process. Let’s face it I’ve had problems for decades… Do I really think they were all going to be solved overnight, NO! That one hour a week helps so much… And every once in a great while I need to rely on the crisis line… That’s what they are there for. I have called Higher Ground maybe three times and asked to have Chelsea return my call, and within one or two hours she gets back to me. I have zero complaints, and only great praise to give all those working at Higher Ground. ☺️👍🤟🤘✌️ 🤜💖🤛

An amazing place to find the best therapists and counselors in the Bangor/Brewer area (and probably all of Northern Maine). The staff are caring and professional. They are willing to listen to each client's individual needs and form a treatment plan that puts the client (not just their symptoms) at the center of it. If you are in a financially difficult position, do not hesitate to talk with the front desk about how they can help you get treatment without over extending your means. The amount of healing I have experienced at Higher Ground is staggering. I feel anyone who is struggling owes it to themself to schedule a consultation. Thank you Higher Ground!
